What kind of trees are you planting outside your greenhouse, they bloom beautifully. 😻
TY - it’s a type of Hydrangea, turns crimson / reddish in fall… They grow very easily @ here, I have to cut them back a lot every year to manage them in order to not block the entire front of the GH

Outdoor Plants had a huge growing day today, early morning rain, bright sun & humid - 4 total plants outside

Nothing beats fresh food, I haven’t had a meal dinning out in years that touches this one & trust me we eat out & at expensive places often; the inputs just aren’t comparable and never as fresh…

Local free range beef, seared then slow & low all day in the crock pot, only salt & pepper to season…

Local fresh baked wraps, aged cheddar then fresh garden goodies diced up & raw, Beets, Carrots, Garlic, Onions & Tomatoes + hot sauce from last season, I could eat this everyday all day :)

I had 3 for dinner last night

Succulent & cactus tray I bought a year or so ago, all have 4-5X’d in size, & most have flowered out at least once

Hydrangeas - The color types teach you your soil PH

Blue = Alkaline
Purple = Neutral
Pink = Acidic

PH dictates flower coloring - pretty neat

2009 Tangerine Dream seed pack (believe it won the 2010 cup), popped last 5 I had from a 14 yr old pack - two came up (I was lazy & went straight to soil, nothing else) they’ve been like this a few weeks but ime very common with older seed, they’ll start growing for real here in next week or two, key is to just do nothing with them, lower light & water very sparingly… back when I used to buy seeds I’d always buy the cup winners, wish I still had the old 2008/09 SLH, shit changed dramatically after original release as many know - I’ve never grown the Tangerine Dream but remember Tangerine @2000/01 that was killer -

anyone have experience with the tangerine dream?

First day school today for one kid Friday is for the other, so we went yesterday to take a swim at the nearby lake, it was a scorcher, today too - very humid High dew points

But alas beaches & everything like that shuts down after Labor Day @ here so we did a nice little hike instead….

Little one nearly stepped on this guy
IMG_1380.jpeg

Then we came home kids hit up the Hot Tub & I harvested a good variety of stuff

IMG_1385.jpeg

- 5 Apple Varieties
- 6 Tomato - 2 sauce, 3 beefsteak & 1 cherry
- 7-8 types peppers
- Musk Melon
- Cucumbers

Then wife reminded me we still had a bushel of peppers from the harvest a handful of days ago

IMG_1359.jpeg

When peppers are in excess we process them a few ways but our favorite for LT storage is simplest & tastes best for it

IMG_1390.jpeg

^^^ Olive oil & diced peppers in large frying pan, dash of salt - cook down, add tomatoes near end continue cooking till it looks like above and that’s it - this makes it into a creamy chunky like blend you see above, it goes great on just about anything but cereal….I often eat it alone too for a quick pick me up

Then I had to go & catch a nice sunset ride along sunset ridge, what a great day…. Time to go pressure wash the house :) - no rest for the wicked

Add tomatoes at this point ^
IMG_1425.jpeg

Cook down until water gone - I’ll do a few batches like this & put into 1Gallon vacuum sealed bags into the freezer for winter, this is great on many dishes but really makes a sandwich Devine ;)
