Honestly I would love to try them but they are to damn expensive. Not trying to be an ass or disrespect you at all, but why would I spend $1500 on a 600 watt unit when I could buy 3 gavitas at that price? What does the dominator 2xxl look like on the electric bill at 12/12 a month? I would definitely consider doing a veg room under leds though.

This is also why i would'nt buy just yet.

Then you post the electric bill,
So if i could save a simular amount i might be swayed.

I'm just oldskool when it comes to lights. HPS or gtfo.
Are these in th UK yet?

Add in the savings on bulbs.... plus the increase in yield over watts.... plus better flowers....if I had more headroom id try one out.... only got 4 ft vert to work with...

Are their vertical leds? 360? Would be a good idea.... so many vert growers....

Hey Lush Lighting, liking what i'm seeing off of your leds. Will check them out a little more in detail but so far I would like to try a few of them in the future. Nice lush growth and dense buds for leds, higher output with less electricity sounds great. Take care 1

Hah, I don't actually speak like that. Most of the time :D Kinda sorta answered my badly phrased questions. No CO2 with 1 1/4 #s per light? Iiiiinnnteresting.

A breakdown of cost recovery time would be prime and probably do wonders for sales. At 1/7 the BTU of heat produced and 3 Dominator for ever 2 1kW HPS, it would look pretty appealing.

If the blurry bill posted is a 1-2 LED lighter, 400-500 a month savings adds up quick.

That's what I thought the bill seems a bit high, hopefully it's for 2 or 3 units? The cost to run a 1K is about $100 over here with ducting and fans.

lush is not intressted in reselling in EUR i think...

two times asked, no answer yet, not lush =(

jo brauer, ever heared of LCC = Lifetime cyclecost? nope? go for it...

i´m afraid of quality or better said the lifetime of that single LED´s how to reassemble them when they die? do i always have to send that lighting back to u to repair it? why no longer warranty on them lights, warranty as least as long as the promised single led lifetime sounds good to me :D

I would have to say with that many kwh used its more than one light....

Are these available in michigan anywhere retail? I am running gavitas right now but I know I will be going to LED in the future.. might be interested in a 3 or 4 of these...

Peace

Think the savings comes from reduced ac.... and also watts I think but its not stated....

yeah, long term you end up spending halfish on power since you don't have to do much for HVAC.

How exactly would using these drop nutrient demands? Only way I can think is it's hurting the limiting factor in indoor growing (light) more than HIDs do. Not a great argument for switching lights.

I believe that some of it is due to the lower transpiration rates. I'm sure these folks could chime in more on how that all works. However if this is the garden I believe it is, he told me he was peaking out at like 500-600 ppm. In soilless, pretty low. I don't use or make leds so I'm no authority on them. Kinda having a hard time articulating my thoughts to explain how it works. To be honest being able to drop nutrient concentrations is a great reason for switching, but its not the only one, that would be like saying its not worth using rdwc to the hydro grower who is growing now on tables. Its really all about how you yourself want to grow, I use all MH bulbs, all the time, and most think its crazy to.

Hi everyone! I'm a night owl and I get on here every night but I guess it's late tonight. ICMag is one of four sites I post and answer questions on. Sorry it's late. But... ANSWER TIME!

1. RoostaPhish, we were at the Rooster Tail, quite possible we have met before :) I've taken over for Sam. I'm the VP of Operations and co-owner of Lush Lighting. Loving the new social media responsibilities :)
2. Croptober, give me a few minutes to find out if that was for one light. I'm not leaving you out, just have to ask the owner for sure.
3. Mack_10, We sell quite a lot in the UK, all over in fact.
4. Sourpuss, we actually have some vertical research going on right now (shhh). :)
5. Kant C Shyt (funny name, btw), Thank you so much!
6. Mikell, when you talk I fell like you're tapping your fingertips together, lol.
7. Brauer, I think you're seeing what people see at first. But the cost of running an LED as opposed to running an HPS is much lower. The cost of electricity is a lot less every month. The cost of cooling an LED is WAY less because LED's don't give off much heat. In some gardens, this is a necessity. Add on how LED's need no ballasts and there are no bulbs to replace so there's another savings in your pocket. Many cost advantages of LED over HPS.
8. bOnZai.bOb, I'm sorry to hear you've asked questions and didn't get replies. I've recently just taken over social media and I'm on here every night. But, no, you don't always have to send your light back to us if something goes wrong. However, if your light needed repair, we would send you a replacement light while we were servicing yours so that you don't have to go without a light. We just try to help you avoid opening the fixture and voiding your warranty so we like to have our engineer fix it for you. It's quite rare that it happens though. I'll have to ask the big guy why the warranty is set at three years. I think it's a common warranty time frame. But we're actually pretty flexible and just want to see your garden be successful.
9. GrowingCrazy, Yes, we're Michigan based and there are several retailers in Michigan. If you are interested in a particular area, let me know and I can tell you where to shop. We also have the website as well. :)
10. SirStynkalot, the nutrient thing... Our lights are designed to fuel photosynthesis and they do it at about two weeks ahead of the curve. They do so by creating a more energetic type of light. The plant gets more energy from the light and less from the nutrients. It's like an electrical cord. You plug it in and the electricity goes zipping down the stem from top to bottom and that's actually how we're able to get penetration of our light even to the plants underneath that don't see light. It travels. That's also why our stems open up like straws and use more water. It's like they have a higher metabolism. That's how it was explained to me.
I'll let you guys know how many lights that bill was for tomorrow when I can ask. But, I can tell you that our (2.5 stall) garage garden is running six lights and our bill was $188.00 last month.
Boy, that was a fun night of Q and A! Now I'm going to post more pics and go to bed :) I'll be back on here tomorrow night. Goodnight everyone!

Made in Detroit? I would be worried your company would be out of biz before the warranty could be honored. Do you have the same concerns?

"The plant gets more energy from the light and less from the nutrients."

Plants don't get energy from nutrients. Plants use nutrients to harvest available light. Lower nutrient use with the same or lower rate of transpiration means less energy is being collected from light. Lower nutrient use with higher transpiration could potentially balance out to be equivalent. Transpiration has to do with vapor pressure rather than light availability unless light is a severely limiting variable. Water demands rather than nutrient demands.

Pithiness of stems is not directly related to light either AFAIK.

Do you by chance have contact info for the engineer who designed your fixtures? Or any commercial case studies?

Good evening! Great questions :) Let me see if I can answer them...

OLDproLg,
The purple hue is soothing, much easier on you than HPS. No headache or humming because we do not use a ballast.

theJointedOne,
When you do, send us pics! Would love to see!

Bulldog420,
We're actually located closer to Chicago, in SW Michigan. We have sales reps on the east coast and the west coast and in between. Plus, a website and retailers. We have earned the endorsement of Oaksterdam University and Cannabis Training University because our products perform in the field. We've been around for a few years now and have a solid foundation. You can be confident that we'll be here for you and are here to stay.

SirStynkalot,
1. Nutrients:
Sorry for the confusion, of course plants don't get energy from nutrients, nutrients become the conductor for the electrical current. Our lights greatly increase the amount of current and energy with electrons 50% more powerful than what HPS can provide. For this reason, the electrical conductivity (EC) needs to be returned to natural levels. The water inside your plants is the conduit that holds the conductor, or conductive water. Since our light increases the demand for this energy, they will naturally produce thicker stalks and stems to increase the uptake of water. Ultimately, photosynthesis is the process of splitting water molecules, capturing the hydrogen and releasing the oxygen. Your transpiration will increase. To take this one steps further, we look at light not as a wavelength or frequency, but rather particles of energy. Each of the plant's light absorbing pigments are sensitive to the energy level of photons. The best way to describe the difference in lighting technologies would be to look at HPS as a 120 volt circuit. MH would be a 240 volt circuit. Lush Lights are a multi-voltage circuit like 3-phase. With these multiple voltages all traveling throughout the plant, they will be able to complete the electron transport chain (ETC). This is why penetration increases, even in areas that do not get direct light.
