Nothing but heat here. Could use some of that rain...
Heat index values should be a notch higher than
today, with areas of the Lower Susq Valley potentially seeing
heat indices around 105F. Will continue with the Heat Advisory
through this evening across the entire Central Ridge and Valley
Region and Susq Valley.

Dude, this ages me. I remember Agnes in 72. I remember them saying we got 17". I just googled it, and here are the highlights from it..... Anyone else remember Agnes? Oh, and the Susquehanna is a mile wide, and usually about 3 feet deep. Flood stage is 17 ft. It went to 32...

19 inches
  • In the end, the storm dumped 19 inches of rain from Florida to New York. In Pennsylvania, the Susquehanna River crested at 32.8 feet in Harrisburg on June 24 – a whopping 15 feet above flood stage.
That flood in 1972 was the reason the best plane Piper made, the Comanche, was discontinued. The factory in Lock Haven was under water and ruined all the tooling. To avoid future hurricane damages they moved to Vero Beach, FL.
