Strawberry Mites got me to

Strawberry Mites got me to

terran I met Ed at the indoor gardening expo, by Maximum yield! I can tell you right now that crap doesn't work. Its smells really good. I hope that bayer labs stuff works because Iv'e lost 5 months to this stuff. No-Pest strips dont even work and that killed everything when I had just regular mites. Your help would be much appreciated I think I have bought at least 150 cuttings from sr and it took me this long to figure this shit out.. I have really good eye sight I cant believe I couldn't see these things. The thing that really throws me off is that the mites make the plants look sick by having random baby leaves looking yellow like a nutrient defficeny. And then the older leaves would get hid burn all around the outside of the leaves..

Hey Clark420  I know exactly what you're talking about when it comes to the mites, and sr71 strains. I'm not saying it's on all there clones, however I know that a few were infected, and it looks like you had one of those batches. I bought a mother(PK & DCxSC) from SR71 some months back, and they were infected with "strawberry mites". I took cuttings from it, and everything was all good at first until I noticed some weird sh** happening :nono: At first I didn't know what it was. I thought it was a some type of def or nute burn or something. Anyways, after spraying it with neem, feeding them good, nutes, and just giving them plain TLC, they still kept looking more more terrible. I finally took a look at terran pics, and they looked exactly like mine As soon as I saw his pics, it was verified mites. I haven't had mites or anything since I started using avid a long time ago. Lately I've been doing a lot of bombing, bleaching, etc..I neved attempted to look under a scope, but one things for sure is there getting the fuc* out of my house! LOL

DAMNIT! you guys were right

today i checked my clones i got 3 days ago and i noticed evidence of a thrip infection...upon further inspection, i actually found a thrip. So, i warn all who are planning on buying clones at SR, that their shit is infested with thrips and who knows what else.

I picked up a White Widow cut from SR-71 two weeks ago. The plant looked fine for the first week, but it developed this weird curling/burning look that made me think of nute burn or something, even though my EC was .6 as measured by my Truncheon.

The look just didn't seem right to me, so I trashed it. Why take a chance on an $8 clone that has an unhealthy appearance that I've never seen before?

To me it looked more like a disease than a pest infection, but I'm not keeping it around to infect my other plants.

hopefully my cuts were ONLY infected with thrips...as spinosad is supposed to eliminate them rather easily.....i'll be fucked if theres strawberry mites too

triggerty. are you sure your plants wernt infected with thrips? do you see wierd silvery patches on your plants with black specks on them? if so, thats thrips

my ww i picked up two weeks ago had thrips, had found one on the plant and black spec, but i think i may have it in control, will find out in a few days i guess, but heard they are easy to get rid of

I got thripes GALORE! i fucked up and braught the PK mother into my room without disinfecting her and now i got thripes on all newly rooted clones!! I've been spraing my mother with a Organic soap solution by master nursery which hasnt been working! I went to san diego for a weekend and came back to a freakin mess my plants wer all patchy and close to die'n especialy the seedlings! If you got thripes take care of that shit ASAP they reproduce like crazy! godd i hope i get these lil shits under control, will no pest strips really work?

what happened to the quality clones they offered a few months back? They were the source to go to for quality healthy varified genetics

My bubblegums also have thrips pretty bad @ 35 days bloom now.

Seems like a big job to keep hundreds of mother plants free of disease and pests... I don't see any of those strawberry mites though, just lots of thrip damage. Still gotta give them a bit of credit for the work they do, they have had to ramp it up a bit with all the other shops closing thier doors to cloners..

A mother clean up is in order though.

Virus and strawberry mites and thrips

Virus and strawberry mites and thrips

Dude good move on removing that plant, I have lost 5 months of growing luckly I have a good job cause Ive lost at least 150 cutting from sr in 5 months trying to figure out what this shit is. But I'll tell you one thing I dont think any bug can reproduce that quick. All my shit did that burning of the outside of the larger leaves, and sometimes the younger leaves would turn all yellow. If you keep flowering it it will go until week 3 and then die its shady. I tried to send a cutting to uc davis but they wanted nothing to do with it. This crap is making me go insane trying to figure it out. Hopefully you got that plant out in time.. Put a microscope or magnifying glass to it and see if you can see these invisible bugs. Im pretty sure its bug and a virus sr is dishing out.

Sr-71 still top dog

Sr-71 still top dog

Nor-cal nicw guy do you have any pics of what thrip damage looks like so I can see if I have had them?

I have met the owner of sr-71, and I would have to say he has a very good aura and is honest. But when you grow so big you outsource to other people so you cant control everything. There clones are still the best rooted and biggest I have evr seen and you get what they tell you unlike other clubs. We the people have to unite and work on ways to counteract these pests, oviously they are not going to go away its just getting worse, so if we have to keep buyinig cuttings from them which I have 2 then we need to figure out what kills these bastards right off the get without paying 300 dollars.

I've been checking my leaves with a 15x magni and havent noticed any mites and i think that soap stuff is working most the thrips are gone! just to be sure im going to go out and buy some monterey garden insect spray which contains Spinosad! BIG thanks to Kokua on his Thrips Thread in the Infirmary!

Clark420 Lets see some pics it would help us all

I would like to throw out the sulfer burner as another tool to get rid of the mites. If you flood your room with a heavy fog, it makes the surface of the leaves pure co2 and the mites sufficate. I have used this on large spider mite infestation and it does wonders. (wont kill the eggs so multiple applications are required.) Even a "superbug" has to breathe.

Hey clark..I use avid as a preventitive instead of a cure..I think I'm gonna have to bow down and get some floramite or whatever it's called for like 300.00 or something dollars. I set off some pyrethin(ms) bombs, but I dont think that's gonna do the job though. I'm looking into somethings to get rid of the lil bastards though :dueling: ..It really sucks, because I wanted to try out the strawberry coughxdeep chunk, but oh well..Anyways, If you have any suggestions, please lemme know....
