Great looking plant there critter, how many days is that?
I didn't want to be offensive but if we are talking about breeding/pollen chucking we are on genetic field whether we like it or not. There is no other meaning of genetic diversity (number of different alleles of all genes in the species/population). Thats why I reacted... I absolutely understand what you mean and don't contest validity of your experience!
It is obvious that you know what are you talking about and I respect your work, your experiences and your relationship to this "hobby". Everyone can make a mistake we are just human.
Now why I have been talking about book/professional literature. I mean it in general, nothing personal. I saw a post of unnamed well known breeder (200$ pack) which defend a high amount of hermaphrodites and males in his regular strain by another (bad) type of soil during the seeds making process. When I saw that I felt like I need smash my head against the wall. The amount of money running in the seed making business is huge but the biologic/botanic/genetic knowledge of the people who profit on this is pathetic. There is thousand pages of fighting whose cut is legit, which cuts are original, who should we respect for keeping mothers etc. But where is respect to the nature and to the profession which those people do. Personally I don't see nothing bad about pollen chucking for example, but it would be great if the people who do it (especially those who sell it) know some deeper genetic/biologic background not just for better results but mainly because of it is fucking interesting... Sorry I just needed to say it.
Lets go back to the topic!
