To Clarify: BBoB fucked WAY UP with My Sour Diesel's lineage,I have No Clue how they fucked it so badly,as I sent them Proper Information to be used.
Soma 's NYCD lineage is also mis-stated in the BBoB,and in fact,he himself mis-states 'Sour Diesel is the mother of NYCD' in his breeding book.
Soma's "NYCD" is:
A bagseed from NYC labelled 'diesel' x Shanti's Affie/Hawaiian male.
No Authentic Sour Diesel ANYWHERE in that formula,PERIOD.

no authentic SD in the nycd formula cuz soma didnt use the clone ? well, the clone herms, and puts out a few seeds, that are exact replicas. no clone neccessary when you got hermie diesel bagseed...

to be fair and honest, i believe this is an issue of aesthetics and subjective to each persons own perception and tastes.
having said that, i feel that the sourd is more exotic with its coloring and smell and suits me better.

I have helped grow the original cut of ECSD, an s1, NYCD, and tried Rezdawg's vs. Now with this exp. with diesel's. I can say that the real ECSD is way stronger than any NYCD or other s.d. for that matter. The ECSD cut has a very diesel smell that comes through young. Taking on a lemon smell while more mature. Now when it comes to the taste. It is strong diesel with a lemon after taste. But nothing I could compare to a lemonhead. It is more strait diesel. The NYCD just can't compare to the real cut.

There are three major types of S.D. 1 is an epic clone and the other a knock off at best, And Rezdawg's vs. It is the closest thing to the real S.D. in seed form. And then you have the west coast vs. Wich is a sad comparison. NYCD is just a dutch strain. NYCD was made by Soma after seeing the S.D. craze hit the east coast. But non can compare to the real cut of ECSD. Not rezdawg's f2s. That is not ECSD. So I guess it depends are you comparing S.D. to NYCD or the real cut of ECSD? That's really what makes the ? If it's just Any S.D. then it is more a matter of preferance. But the real cut blow's any other's away.

It was the opposite for me. Not that I'm saying NYCD is pure indica at all, but it has more of a full body high. While the ECSD cut is an obvious offshoot of Chem 91, which is one of the headie sativa pheno Chem's.

The real ECSD is predominantly Sativa, I'd say at least 70-80%. It is however very good for insomnia, but that is more likely due to the synergy of cannabinoids in the chem genes than it being mostly from an indica lineage.

NYCD is not diesel and taste is not even close to as good as ECSD. I avoid all hybrids and flowers with NYCD.

There is a strain called Original Diesel or Diesel #1. It was one of the original or 1st generation crosses of the chemdog beans that got popped from that Greatful dead show. It's in the Cannabible I'm pretty sure.

I believe it is also referred to as Headband or Headband Diesel (Not 707 Headband which is OG x [Sour D x OG])
