Sour Diesel Vs. New York City Diesel

It's parents aren't necessarily sativa. Original diesel and dnl are not at all mostly sativa. Wouldn't it depend on the phenotype? When I smoked the sour diesel that came around (i don't remember it being thaaat great, just remember it had great bag appeal) it felt like a hybrid that leaned towards indica. maybe it was just a crossing of sour diesel genetics that retained its calyx structure.

never tried the NYCD, but If I did I know I would be disappointed if it didn't have a diesel taste like chemdog related genetics.. oh well I guess I will look for a grapefruit taste..

The sour diesel clone is for sure one of my favorite strains of all time..

To say Sour D or or NYCD is better or worse is kinda impossible and silly. It depends on who grew it and their experience growing those strains, what pheno of the strain it is, how it was cured, etc.. There are too many variables to say one is better than the other..

theres to many phenos of Diesle but only one sourD clone personally i hate the shit and being from nyc hear shit all the time bout my opinion on sourD so save ur energy. i been smokin it since the 90's and still prefer chemD over it everytime.. im not sayin its trash but one mans trash is everyone elses treasure.. it does taste good though.. just not my thing.

It was the opposite for me. Not that I'm saying NYCD is pure indica at all, but it has more of a full body high. While the ECSD cut is an obvious offshoot of Chem 91, which is one of the headie sativa pheno Chem's.

The real ECSD is predominantly Sativa, I'd say at least 70-80%. It is however very good for insomnia, but that is more likely due to the synergy of cannabinoids in the chem genes than it being mostly from an indica lineage.

I agree completely with what you say. The only thing is i think the body comes from a mix of the chem and the super skunk and NL. I mean look at it's lineage: ('91 Chemdawg x Mass Super Skunk/NL)x DNL that DNL hermed. The DNL's lineage is NL/Shiva x Hawaiian.

The best NYCD is maybe an 8..... the best sour d is every bit of a 10...... thats a better way too say it. Coming from me, that means alot as I have smoked an ungodly amount of weed.

I have had the original diesel and the sour diesel many times over the years. I really like them both. it would be hard to decide for me. they are both really good.

I agree you just can't compare the real S.D. with Diesel. They are both sick elite clone's that are very different. But as far as NYC, Soma bread landraces to make some of the same characteristics as a Diesel with a very sweet twist. All his work is dutch genetics. Also a hard topic to answer correctly. (if there is a thing?) Because most of the S.D. out there is not the real S.D. but Rezdawg's at best. Also tons of dutch genetics to try to recreate ECSD making a stable f2 that has most of the same characteristics. So my opinion is the real ECSD will dominate everytime. Where as most S.D. is a knock off and comparable to NYC. So while people who bread out seeds to be like elite clones are doing the general public a favor. It also creates alot of confusion as to what is better. When everyone is comparing different cuts.

Very true, ECSD cut can be so strong you almost fall asleep with the joint in your hand as your body almost goes numb.

Hawaiian Afghan, Shiva and DNL all have indica body high profiles without a doubt, that I'm sure are also present in the synergy that is the amazing Sour Diesel high.
