Smoky Mountain 2012 Guerilla Grow Show

I just rode my bike up to my biggest plot with the sole intention of picking raspberries. Raspberries weren't ripe yet.
So I figured I'd take the time to check on my plants. I brought my camera. I forgot my SIM card :( :( :( :( So no photos unfortunately.

Anyway, most of them are doing great, with the exception of 1 lemon skunk that I thought I'd be smart with and put a butt load of mulch in the hole. Well apparently whatever composted wood chips I used were very very basic, and it's showing a lot of pH imbalance. I'll adjust with pH down later this week. Or maybe vinegar, idk yet. Any suggestions on a top-dressing that will bring down the pH significantly and hold it down?

The 1 The Doctor sure does look like it's a male, but it's still a little bit behind the others, and the preflowers aren't really well defined, so I'll give it another few weeks before I make such a permanent decision. I know that males will show balls before females show buds, but does anyone know if males like to show preflowers earlier than females?

All the rest are definitely female, pistils confirmed.

Besides the one with pH imbalance, they're all about 2.5 - 4 ft tall, so like waist to chest high. I topped the Rocklock (at 4ft) and FIMmed the lemon skunk right next to her. I also LST'ed the crap out of the rocklock, some of those branches were 3ft long already.

Overall I'm extremely happy with the way everything is going, no sign of anything messing with the plants or soil (fingers crossed). My mothballs were still in good condition.

My apologies for the lack of photos in this update.

Last shot of the closet. After this I can take the lights down and have my closet back.

81 days on the autos, buds are really swelling - trichs are mostly cloudy, with less than 25% amber, and about 25% clear. I'll let them go another week before I think about taking a top off, and another 2 weeks before I do any harvesting. I'm about out of bud right now, so it's gonna be tough waiting.

The nearby plot is doing well, with the rocklock and the church looking great, and the other two are infested with what I believe are thrips. Check out the last picture. I sprayed heavily with neem oil for a second time. If that isn't working within a few days I'm gonna get some pyrethrum.

UPDATE TIME!!!

I haz the bugz.
Otherwise, everything in the nearby plot doing very well. I'm gonna go pick some berries tomorrow and check on my largest plot, and hopefully I'll remember my SD card this time so I can snap some photos.

84 days here on the autos. I just bought a small bag of nugs and hash to hold me over so I'm gonna let them go probably another two weeks or so, maybe a little longer. No sense in rushing it.

SOO...ummm...what the hell are these things??

wow!!!! those buds look soo much better than i expected they would!!! you have your work cut out trimming it though looks like a lot of little leaves growing out the bud. wait till you get here man the genetics i am working with are soo easy to trim(in comparison that is)...never seen those beard shitting bugs before though

I would also like to know what bugs those are. They are on most of my plants, I brush them off and their weird cotton-web nest they leave behind, but they always come back.

I gotchyer update right hurr!!

Autos are being attacked by bugs. Against my better judgement, I sprayed the stalk heavily with neem oil, and hit the surrouding areas around the plant. I put out a crapload more mothballs hoping that would take care of them. I was very close to harvesting them early, but I decided to wait it out and see.

I got up early enough this morning to catch my largest plot right at sunrise. I managed to collect about a gallon of blackberries and raspberries as well.
The one Doctor that I thought was a male is now a confirmed female. And one of my Lemon Skunks had been dug up by a critter. :( :(
Win some, lose some.

I haven't had to cart any water out so far, and if the rain keeps up for the next 3 months this will probably be the last time I visit them before I go to harvest.

Photo order:
#1 & 2: NYC Diesel @ 4 - 5 ft
#3: All 3 of The Doctors @~4 - 6 ft
#4: Lemon Skunk @~5ft
#5: Lemon Skunk planted in wood chips, too high pH (added lots of pH down today for first time) @~2ft
#6: Hole where this Lemon Skunk had been
#7: Rocklock @7ft
#8: Lemon Skunk @6.5 ft

Isn't she a beaut? I think this Rocklock is gonna be the biggest plant I've ever grown:

Any pics of the autos? Your plants are looking great! I can only get into threads that are true guerrilla grows, I love your thread.

Oh, thanks honda. I'll probably post some pics of the autos tonight. I just posted new ones 3 days ago, but I was planning a trip out there, I'll go ahead and bring the camera. I keep telling myself I'll let them go another week, then another week, then another week...

Auto Update!

Neem/mothball combo must have worked (I think it was mostly the neem, since the bugs were still there on the parts of the stem I didn't spray too well right near the bottom). Plants are doing well, except for the one small one that survived being dug up. It had PM, a small patch of mold, multiple bug infestations, etc., so I decided to harvest it just a hair early. You'll see it hanging in my closet in the last pic, and just before chop in the second to last pic.
She's tiny, but she'll yield more than enough smoke for a few weeks to let the others finish out then properly dry and cure.

As for the 3 bigger plants, at 92 days from seed they all look very close to finishing, but the trichs just aren't there yet. I'll most likely be satisfied with them in about 7 more days, but I may let them go another 2 weeks instead.

They look exactly how mine did 2 years ago. I don't know what it is with that strain but the trichs take forever to turn the right amount of amber. I think you should be good to go in about 5-7 days. Im guessing your at about 10% amber right now?

Well, after nearly nonstop rain for the past 3 days, I decided to go check my plants today. Lots of mold starting and PM and just plain bud rot (ie soggy nugs) were taking over, so I decided to chop the two smaller ones. The larger more sativa-dominant plant didn't show any signs of mold. I've got them next to the dehumidifier ATM, gonna let them dry out heavily tonight, then probably turn off the dehumid by tomorrow.

The first 7 photos are of the autos I cut. I'm going out first thing in the morning to cut the big one, too. She's in the very last photo. It's still raining and I just don't want to risk that kind of loss.

Anyway, these nugs feel super dense, and a lot heavier than I expected. I'm really hoping this translates to final yield.

The 8th photo is of the test plot near the autos. It's not doing so hot. I mean, the plants are fine, but there was a tree I never expected to fill out that is covered in leaves now and they're getting tons of afternoon shade and not really growing as quickly as I'd like. I think I'm going to have to do some limb surgery before flowering season begins.

The second to last photo is of the dried buds from the abused plant. They were very airy and light, and most of them had died long before harvest. Final yield was only 4 grams. The smoke is great though. It's more than I need to last me until the others are dry anyway.

Enjoy!

Chop, chop! Last auto down at 6 am this morning.
The rain kept up last night, and with the forecast looking pretty terrible I decided that today's the day.

Anyone wanna take a shot at the final yield of these 3?

I'm near the TN/NC border. We were pretty dry for a while but these past few days have been horrendous for rain. Nearly nonstop downpour.
