I tried out the Critical 33 last night. First I smoked half a bowl by myself and put it down. My girlfriend and I went for a ride last night and tried to smoke a joint of it on the way. The taste was outstanding and it burned sooooo slow. We had to put it out less than halfway, and I was totally stoned out the rest of the night -- I didn't want to take another hit. In other words, it's as good as anything I've ever smoked.
I've tried most of them so far, and I haven't been disappointed. It's hard to point out the subtleties at this point, but the Blue Lemon Thai takes the cake. The Green Bud is very very strong too.
Here they are, the final two plants. They were still both a little premature, due to their more shaded placement. I'd have liked another week or two on the Rocklock, and the Chocolope could have handled another 3+, depending on your preference with that particular strain, but it wasn't worth the risk or the wait. I'd say I have about a quarter pound here, wouldn't you?
Thanks, I definitely plan to do that. They're a little over halfway on the cure and I still haven't really tried them all, at least not adequately enough to smoke report. Besides, it's hard to get a good read on a strain when you start smoking honey oil at 8am.
I'm pretty satisfied with the final harvest, all things considered. 2 lbs is a solid yield, yes - not terribly outstanding, but nothing to be disappointed with either, especially given the quality. There are quite a few things I'd do differently next year if I wasn't planning to move to CA this spring, but I was expecting a learning experience from this grow anyway. I'm definitely sold on organic soil runs, the buds were really nice: as nice or nicer than anything else I've ever grown. Unfortunately, the biggest buds were the ones with the most mold, and many of those I had to cut into smaller pieces to take out the moldy areas. I still got quite a few nice large colas, though, especially of The Dr., Blue Lemon Thai and Rocklock. I'd like to point out that in addition to Critical 33, those are probably the only three strains I'd try growing again out of the strains sampled this year, at least for commercial production.
Ok, I just finished my final weight post, 1 page back. The total yield was about 900g, right at 2lb. I'll have a more detailed report in the next few weeks.
Great and fast season with a quick harvest. Nice outdoor choice....I would definitely like to read a smoke report on NYCD grown outdoors. Tnx for this full report and good luck with your indoor project!
