I do not know - way back when - why Nevermind did not read my post. I forgot about this thread....

It was so obvious. Clearly, I state that "IF you have friends, family or anyone who knows you in JA, you are OK, otherwise, you are alone, a far way from home."

If one has connections, all is usually good, like some do in other countries.

The racist, thieving, selling-everything-under-the-sun-which-is-illegal-and NOT-taking-NO for-an-answer-without-getting-insulting continues.

The economic disparities betw'n the JA economy, and the seemingly rich one based on the tourist fat wallet causes huge problems. Many, many people prey on tourists as a full-time job.

It used to be that people were advised to not cross the barbed-wire fence outside of the resort.... Of course, that's ridiculous, but based on a shred of fact. More than a shred....

If you travel with a Female, (or are one, even worse for you, unless it is what you want) you will be insulted as not Man enough compared to the illustrious Jamaican men. In your face, all the way. Turn your back, go buy a drink, there's a host of Casanova beach boys, wholly dedicated to finding a sponsor to the good ol' USA, land of opportunity... lol

If you travel alone, as a Man, you will be called gay, and harassed from day 1 to the end of your trip, in which you opted to pay the change fee to end early and go home. The food sucks, too.

Other than that, it is great....

There are so many places to go. I will never set foot in JA again, without solid connections waiting for me on arrival.

Oh, and also, 90 percent of the weed sucks, unless you collect immature white seeds.

I'm sure you can find good stuff.... If you know someone.......

I would bet on Amsterdam, and then on to Espana for warm temps.....

Always liked Jamaica...I personally avoid Negril...Head more toward the other side like Port Antonio....Ocho Rios but not on cruise ship day. Both are way more laid back with less tourist pressure. Just my notion... been going there a long time.

Costa Rica is a kickass MJ friendly vacation spot. I traveled the whole country on foot & public transportation on barely any money. Everywhere I went there was somebody around with decent buds though. Yeah it's illegal and all, but they cater to tourists and looked the other way while I was there.

I went to Nassau (bahamas) on a cruise and the hustlers around there all had shitty weed. I'd only buy a few bucks worth at a time since I couldn't trust any of them. Wasn't a great experience there. But what do ya expect at a cruise destination.. haha

This is great news since I was on the fence of going to Jamaica and Costa Rica. Your post sold me on Costa Rica since I'm planning a surf trip there next summer for graduation. Where did you stay in Costa Rica? I was looking at Tamarino since it's mainly a surf town.

Jaco had the best surfing when I was there. It's really building up though, so everything's slowly creeping up in price. I stayed all over the country, just brought a backpack and a few hundred bucks and roughed it for a week. I did plenty of walking, and even a little bit of hitchhiking. They had some of the most friendly people I've met, and many of em didn't have much more than a few bucks to their names. Their little motto is "pura vida" (pure life) and they say it all the time. All I can say is live like the locals live, do what the locals do, and you'll have a blast. Don't get in a hurry and just soak it all up. you'll be glad you did. peace

Hey Now, Jamaica is tops cause they got a culture of herb growing & smoking. But you know I found good weed most places i've ever been. Smoked some killer hash inside the Arctic circle in Sweden. nice smoke in Memphis tenn. and the got killer BBQ. Smoked in Spain, Morroco, a little spooky, but good smoke. West Africa got real cheap weed, and if you find a good source, some real killer smoke too! Hash in Western europe, did'nt find any in slovakia, but they got some of the best beer you'll ever drink. weed is illegal everywhere, but herb lovers are everywhere.

If I was planning a vacation I'd look for value, climate, people,and don't worry about the herb. Cause if your cool you can find it almost everywhere!

Can I add shanghai to the list? There was nice outdoor(canadian style friesland) to be had as well as hash being sold openly everywhere near Nanjing Rd. The hash was actually pressed kif and smoked perfectly well on its own in a joint. The cops didn't recognize the smell and I was smoking openly in the hotel and in nightclubs.

Had some of the best times of my life in beijing and shanghai...highwise. But the hash sucks. it is very low quality.

all i know is, i really want to experience jamaica with mr. nevermind. i've been to mo bay, and met some really cool locals, but didn't spend enough time in negril or possibly other parts like ocho rios? or hidden beach? or whatever it's called that was always advertised in high times. anyone been there?

also, can anyone post some good trichome worth pictures of buds from jamaica? we never really found the lambsbread in mobay.

im wondering about canada. I heard from a friend that their medical marijuana situation is relatively strict (relative to CA, haha). that being said, the dispensary he went to (on victoria i believe) accepted his recommendation.

I've heard that the melting point closed down.

also, I have heard that they have been more strict with weed, since i can only assume its ridiculous at this point up there (by that i mean, weed is so common, with grow ops being busted daily, that they are taking it seriously because it has kind of gotten out of hand)

I plan on going to BC. I know its a great area. there are tons of things to do and places to go, but Im more interested in the weed scene.

if anyone has specific places or areas and possibly some advice, let me know.

I read the post in this thread, and I was looking for more detailed info.

you should give England or Wales a thought. Wales has a thriving cannabis communty in various parts and England is full of people to share a smoke with, who knows maybe even 'score a quarter' for you. Pick a place in any large ish town that houses hippy ish characters and ask.

Christiania in denmark is still a fun and nice place to come and smoke hashish,

But I think that smokers paradise no 1 is Himachal Pradesh in India, you dont find a more frendly place and with very littel policing in the more remote area´s

also if you come in the right time you can make your own charas or els there is a surpluss of cream dela cream if you spend the time looking after if

the most turist places are manali and paravati vally, but banjar and saint vally are very interstering in a charas point of view

Laos,....that small place just north [amd to the East] of Thailand.

In Laos head for Vang Veing, its just north of Veintienne [capital city] 4 hours on a bus.

beautifull country, and people, and the haze in insane.......Laos & its haze is famous where i live. If you like KALI MIST etc, then this is where one should go. Oh and its cheap,....beats most other destinations for "Quality IN Quantity.

I went to jamaica last year and definitely would consider it a smoker friendly,theres not a place in jamaica you won't find weed at.Weither it be right when you get off the plane,hotel staff,rasta tour guide.Right across the street from the hotel were rastas with bundles of foot long buds and grams of hash(i got offered shrooms too but didnt want to trip in jamaica)Our tourguide took us to a nice little place that made special brownies and that made me really high and tired.Overall its a great place to go and just enjoy life.

My vote goes to Belize. This small nation of about a quarter-million or so people sits on the marge of the Caribbean sea, nestled between Mexico and Guatemala... However, good bud is much easier to get than in either of those two countries, the crime rate is a hundred times lower, and it's relatively uncontaminated by tourist culture. As a matter of fact, I'd be surprised to learn that ten percent of the United States population had heard of Belize, much less been there -- however the British military still has a presence, ESPECIALLY at the Belize City airport -- ****ing dirty Guatemala has no respect for "British Honduras'" rights.

How easy -- ****ing everybody in Belize smokes, it seems. If you aren't offered any, which is pretty rare, you can ask just about anybody, if it's a guy in his late teens or older, he knows where to get some herb. If you ask somebody who doesn't smoke or doesn't know where to get some, they can often point you in the right direction -- at worst, they'll shy away, but it's not like in America where people call the cops if you ask for bud...

How open -- Police in Belize are pretty scattered, enforcement is rare if nonexistent, hell I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the police smoke herb with tourists though I wouldn't ask one if he lights up. Remember this is a nation where sometimes the police have to hitch-hike to rural towns for investigations. Not getting caught is "as simple as not smoking in front of a police officer," according to WeBeHigh.

How good -- Somewhere between Central American shit weed and good Jamaican herb is the norm. Things vary between those two extremes, but since Belizean weed is grown mostly for local use only, because most people smoke it, the herb is fresh and green. Bye-bye brown brick buds!

Time of year -- Anytime besides the rainy season, when lots of bud you'll come across is either too humid, molded, etc. Not terribly common but it happens, go during the dry season when you can get out all day.

Oh yeah, price, Belizean herb goes from $5 for a few joints to $20 ounces to $60, $80, $100 pounds. Remember that for every American dollar you take down there you'll receive about two Belizean dollars, so a pound might only cost you $50.00!!
