I walk around with my girl there with no security going thru local towns. As long as you are respectful noone screws with you. Plus all the people are trying to do is get by, they gain nothing by robbing tourists or killing them. Jamaica is poor but would be alot poorer if they robbed tourists and peole stopped coming. Jamaicans bend over backwards for tourists to make them safe and happy. Without tourist $$ they are dead broke. So they dont bite the hand that feeds them
Most crime on Jamaica is in Kingston and its rival gangs killin each other

alotta ppl have been 2 jamaica and been robbed, and yes at negril. ur rite there r some that want 2 do everythin possible 2 make tourist come back but then theres some that r so poor they dont care and just need the money 2 get by that day. ur very lucky somethin hasnt happend 2u. i would suggest that u b more careful and dont b so nieve gambling with u and ur g/fs money and lives.
btw, tnx for polluting the already watered down sativas of jamaica...

I wear an expensive watch and leave it at home in the states and i wear diamonds in each ear and take them out before i go. No reason to flaunt wealth in front of the poor. So im not much of a target to be robbed. Just a dude in shorts and flip flops with $20 bucks on him.
Besides , since i have been there so many times and go to the same places, they know me. I give out seeds when i go so growers can have a better product and make more $$, i bring old clothes to give to locals whom are too poor to afford clothes. I bring soap and mouthwash for people, and even medicine once. So the locals know me and dont bother me. They cal me " Mista Nevamind, tru rasta"
So im sure people get robbed, but the ones that do are almost begging for it. Having $700 in cash in your pocket and a rolex in your wrist is asking to be robbed. Shorts and flip flops with $20 in my pocket and passin out clothes and more to the poor wont get me robbed. It makes me more welcome.
You treat people with respect , poor or rich , and do what you can to help and you wont be robbed.

PS: and yes in my real life i am refered to as Nevermind. I dont liek using my real name to many people. My girl knows me as Nevermind as well but has known me for 16 years. Most friends call me Nevermind, when i travel i intorduce myself as nevermind. My neighbor calls me Alex but that aint my name. Fake names are somehting i have lived with for a long time to protect identity

yeah Vegas is great but it lacks the option of being able to smoke in the open or in social settings

Other people said i was crazy to do it. But they never stole anything from me, and i never got robbed neither. its like nevermind says, just dont look as a dumb tourist who is ASKING to get robbed. I have been in Oco Rios several times and it is quite lad back.
Just respect the locals and they will be good to you.
Also, do sample and test the buds before you buy-look around- the better buds can be found.
Just don't be foolish and sit in a restuarant and fire up a fatty.

Jamaica is a great place for weed vacationing...and is a lot safer than most of the countries I've been to. The day that we went against the Club's warnings and ventured into town was the best day we had. Never had a problem or felt threatend and was able to score some weed that was twice as good as the stuff I got from the clubs security guard or the dude that drove the shuttle bus.

Well it goes back to me saying you have to show respect. I smoke at every resturant i go to in Negril. As soon as i am seated or show up i ask if its ok to light up while i wait. They always say yes and as soon as they say yes i tip them very well and say thank you. Can smoke in cabs or anywhere you want in jamaica as long as you ask first

i was at a club recently with a buddy of mine who does shit with computers and this Jamaican dude who he worked with who came up from florida, he said he was in Jamaica and that he could get like an ounce or 2 on the beach for 10 bucks and that he ended up giving most of it back to the guy who sold it to him cus he couldnt finish it all... but he claimed you could really only smoke on the beach, i'm not really sure where he was at when he visited, only met him once, but potheads are potheads. we stick together. cant wait for him to visit again. great guy.. so look into Jamaica more i dunno about laws but he claimed you couldnt leave the beach with the stuff.
Dude, the hell with spending $2000 going to Amsterdam. After reading this, I want to hit Jamaica. What's it cost for a week on average? Hotel, food, booze and pot?

Depends on where you want to stay and what type of stay you get. Some do all inclusive with meals and drinks included. Some prefer to go out to local joints to eat. If going with a girl and you want to impress her or show her a good time do all inclusive. But if just going to smoke and hang out then dont. Im not much of a drinker so all inclusive is a waste for me. a 6 pack of red stripe lasts me a week.
Herb: you can get a pound in Negril from a farm for $150 . Or you can get an oz or 2 from a local dealer for $20-$80 , depends on how well you negotiate.
Food: For just yourself you can go $50 a day or less on food easy. Can get a huge breakfast for $3-$5 with banana pancakes , eggs, bacon OJ and a dumplin. For lunch you can get Jerk chicken or some fish with a side for maybe $5-7. For dinner you can get a lobster dinner with a side for less than $10 . Get some munchies at a store for your room and your set
Booze: you can get a red stripe for a buck and some nights at bars alot less. Rum is good and everywhere. I dont drink much so i cant tell you how much to get drunk a day
Hotel: you can get a pentouse in Blue cave castle in Negril with the best view in Negril ( highest point there overlooking the ocean) for $100 a night. Pretty cheap and the place is great. All inclusives range around $200-$400 a night depending on the level of service you request . You can get butler service at sandals for $3100 for a week. its up to you.
You can go there cheap and have a blast or you can go there and spend alot and still have a blast. I have found the best times were staying at smaller local places like Blue cave as opposed to larger resorts. you get to go out and eat local food and get better herb

Don't get me wrong, I'm still going to goto ADam, but that'll have to wait a few more years. It was $500 more than a trip to jamaica. And my wife will goto jamaica with me. She won't do the ADam thing. Doesn't want her parents to freak out when we ask them to watch the boy. Doesn't want to fly over the ocean with possilble terrorists. Thinks that the whole sex thing in ADam is just the devil... I could go on forever, she just don't wanna do it. I just want a nice cheap vacation where we can go hang out in the local places, get baked and have a blast.
Anyone ever heard of "Magic Mushroom Tea at Ted's" There was a picture in high times a few years back. Guy said he bough enough for the stay and then went to Ted's for magic mushroom tea. Had a picture of Ted's and another picture of him and the dope man. Had a whole plant! But that and your stories are really tempting me to go!
