x-mas night reading Ca articles. Yup, I dig it.

Mineral uptake: The nutrient content in leaves and flowers of C. coronarium L. was significantly affected by calcium concentration levels in nutrient solution (Table 2). The calcium contents of leaves and flowers were increased significantly by increasing calcium concentration. However, P and Mg mineral contents of leaves and flowers in Ca2+ treatment of hydroponics decreased significantly with increasing calcium concentration in nutrient solution.

This little bit right here sounds like it can solve most cannabis issues. As we all know, cation relationships effect each other. So Ca, will keep P and Mg low. Music to my ears.

You need mg for photosynthesis and P for reproductive energy if you keep Ca too high and don't put on Mn p Zn Cu mo co and a smaller amount of ca you won't get the fruit set you hoped for. Certain elements are vegetative and others are reproductive

Dr Caterpillar,

And how much Mg is actually necessary you think?

And at what point is there too much calcium?

Certain elements are vegetative and others are reproductive? Please elaborate.

Do you mean to see molecules or elements?

Whats the Colorado event? I'll meet you there....

Hell, I'm still on the west coast since the Emerald Cup...listening to the wonderful sounds of Christmas in Oakland (gunshots and sirens)

think about how ca keeps p low and the answer will reveal itself to you. after all one is a cation and the other is an anion

If you know you know

And if you don't, you don't.

What was that dosage of gypsum you applied per plant? 80 lbs?

The idea of this thread is to help folks. You make comments and then never want to help folks. You just trolling for consulting biz or what?

Or is your presence on this thread to sell AEA woowoo juice? Or is there a new partnership with Redding in the works? Either way, why not go back to the AEA thread and talk that woowoo juice up instead?

Doesn't matter what you use to get em there , trying all kinds of new kit all the time.. you even mentioned using no3 for veg and NH4 for reproductive.. dont know when I mentioned an aea juice in your thread or why you're just so against people figuring stuff out for themselves give enough that if they want to they can but if they don't want to figure it out telling em doesn't have any purpose either cuz they probably won't apply it

You should not underestimate folks so much. The growers that I have met on this page are much more advanced than you think.

Never said you mentioned anything. Get a grip.

Go start another thread somewhere else. :moon:

finding right answers to all questions is like being foolish, we need to explore and find out if we are in that quest. I am learning so slow plz do not stop sharing your learnings and thoughts.

If the groups aren't defined then what ? Can't categorize every poster that's where will/won't comes in to play but just put some gypsum on it

You might be amazed how easy it is to categorize growers and their needs. You just don't have the experience and still are dependent on someones recipe that you are copying. So far, it has been pretty easy and straight forward. Obviously it is much easier and correct if one gets a good soil analysis and then I don't have to guess as much.

So far, EVERYONE that has bothered to send in a sample, needed Calcium. And so far, this is the same thing we see in non cannabis crops world wide.

Maybe there is a place or a farm that doesn't need one form of Calcium or another, but so far, haven't found it yet.

Even on high Ca soils, folks like you apply 80 lbs of gypsum PER PLANT, yet don't want to discuss it.

That dosage makes you the king of Calcium, yet you never say this to anyone? That says quite a bit all by itself.

Using base distribution calculations, I have never seen a soil that would demand that much Calcium. :moon:

Of course there is the need for other elements, especially the micros. Unfortunately without a soil analysis, calculating dosages is much more complicated and possibly even dangerous.:woohoo:

Given that a soil needs so much Calcium, it is hard to screw up making light dosage recommendations. Given other elements like B, Zn, Mn and Cu can easily go toxic with out the right dosis, I tread lighter with those elements until I see a good soil analysis from a good lab. Some labs such as Logan can't seem to get their stuff together and consistently under estimate elements like B in their soil analysis yet will come back with foliar levels that are near toxic yet recommend more due to some screw up in their soil analysis.

This thread is about sharing information and scientific concepts. :comfort:

Woowoo juice does not fit in this thread. All the woowoo juice comes from basic raw sources of fertilizers, often mixed with aminos, ferments (that often explode) etc... there is NO REASON for growers to keep getting screwed paying those ridiculous prices only to pay commissions to a bunch of talking heads that can't get their story straight and make recommendations of what to apply based on a recipe instead of a good soil analysis. Kempf fits right in there. I heard he barely graduated high school and is a self appointed agronomist, just like Dr. Caterpillar!

Unfortunately the scientific community doesn't think much of those self appointed degrees. LMAO. I heard that there are some universities (note the lack of a Capital U) that are willing to take your money and give you an honorary degree for your experiences, but those degrees don't count in the real world either.

Nor in my world either. Don't go away mad, just go away. :comfort:

Slow... since this is your thread, can't you ask for rights to delete unwanted (unhelpful or quarrelsome) posts? Perhaps certain rude members can be banned from this thread too? I'm not suggesting creating a closed/muted environment in which no one can express their opinions... just a way to cut down on abuses.
