Did you hear credible estimates for the size of the hemp market? Cbd v fiber?

Right now is the time to decide. Foliar while building your soil. Get cost down for when the competition hits...get those micros in the soil while you can afford them

Not just Vegas! Yields and quality are pretty poor just about everywhere. Those that are in the know realize just how bad it really is out there, lots of poor quality. A bunch of us are getting spoiled! Don't want anything but the good stuff... anyone else feeling that way! LMAO

Perceptions are based on ones reality, reality has changed hasn't it!

Those that have recently witnessed the new reality are left with jaws open and wanting to know more (and smoke more).

Garbage in garbage out or at least low yields if running isolates, terps etc... The new reality is quality and yield, those that learn to swim instead of sink will make it. This is a business where there is a 700% variation for the best over the worst. Work it guys (and gals)!

I heard averages of hemp producing 500 lbs to the acre in Colorado, all the way up to 7,000 lbs! That typifies the difference in growers and conditions.

I cant say anything about Washington or Oregon. But Colorado was shitty at first, but its been getting better everytime i drive through.

The 14er in Boulder might be the best legal weed in the US.

Cali medical isn't bad.

Vegas is atrocious.

Hey thanks for the info on Vegas, I thought Bloom opened there they had a good rep in Cali. They were bad too?

Glad to see my friends are still here chattin. Feel like I've been gone for months.

Wanted to ask everyone what they do for their soil over winter? I want to dump a fuckton of gyp on to wash out my high Mg but beyond that should I plant some kind of cover crop? Are there any amendments you need to add now?

I'm calling bullshit. Are they pulling up the roots and counting that too? I'm thinking the upper end is 2-2.5 tons an acre.

I am throwing bone meal on as well as gypsum. Then Alfalfa in the spring to wake things up, with soil tests.

always plant cover crops. it reduces soil erosion, runoff, nutrient/OM loss, microbiota slow down, structure loss, etc.

Just posting what I hear. Don't get your undies in a knot.

I won't buddy.

So with something like fibre hemp 3.5 tons would be possible. Intense planted single stalk type, grown for stalk length and height....then I could see that.

Cbd hemp grown for oils would be different and you would have to separate them as far as target yields. I was thinking linear with a lack of sleep

I'm having a serious lack of get enough done before the snow flys

I would gauge what your limiting factors and goals are and than try to choose a cover crop that is appropriate. For instance if you are covering in winter time, a winter wheat species would be appropriate. Buckwheat wouldn't.

So, something to consider............ Would love others feed back..........

Tilling in cover crops will lead to the flavor profile being brought back up by the cannabis plant..... Not sure I am explaining this correctly....... Some say planting mint and tilling mint leaves into your soil will bring out a mint flavor. Some say just companion planting with mint will bring out flavor in your cannabis..........

My thoughts, first and foremost, grow healthy plants and terps will follow. However, there is for sure evidence of the above being true. I found, that is I let my native grasses grow in my posts, I would taste a slight, distinct taste from said grasses. This year I upped my experiment, and actually started to grind up mint, lemon balm, lavender and compost it into the soil, let the worms work it over. I did notice an increase in those terp profiles, but I didn't do enough for any definitive results. Was thinking next year, if I have a 40 acre property but only allowed to farm 1 acre for cannabis, I would farm mint, lemon balm, lavender ext just for the purpose of grinding up into the soil beds.

Thinks like this would definitely affect the terpene profile. The potential terpene profile is established by genetics. After this epigenetics comes into play. But most commonly the soil type determines the concentration of certain compounds in the plant. For instance, on high selenium soils indian paintbrush is toxic. Without selenium it is simply a good salad ingredient. Same with moringa oleferia. From what I have read it really more matters with the mineral content of the soil. Idk if it is because these elements act as a catalyst but I always understood that the phenols and flavonoids in cover crops would break down as they are incorporated into the soil organic matter. Now aromatic compounds definitely have an effect on the terpene content of the plants around it. Without a doubt.
