As a long time HOT5 grower, it looks like your light is too far away.

I keep mine within 6"

The kiddies are looking great.

The kiddies are looking great.

3.5 Weeks ahh what a great age. Those puppies look like there ready to explode with growth. The rapid veg growth always reminded me off a fire works show. Very nice

Me too on the 6 inches. I use a 4 bulb 4' t5 bad boy with a pulley and backup safety lines Happy with the light.
Those pulleys are slick.

Always a pleaser Med and Med

I move it up when I'm watering and taking photos. They sit 6" above normally.

I knew this answer was coming. Duh petflora lol :D

Dude yours are looking great!

I like the full body shot.

I got a few blowing up compared to the rest.

They love it when the coco dries up almost completely.

SS week 4
Getting ready to transplant this week. They need more soil to keep it at a more regulated moisture level. Showing 2 main leaf patterns.

hey mmg

MMG I was always told never to let your plants get root-bound; that it would cause poor growth etc. and with MedMan saying they were "perfectly root-bound," I am confused. Your plants look great so it didn't do them any harm.
So I guess I have one question for you. Is it good to let your plants get root-bound?

I don't want to speak for med-man, but "perfect root bound" to me is the when you don't have to break up your root base due to extreme overgrowth or it doest crumble due to lack of growth. The plants roots are stiil searching for fresh soil, so when they are "perfect root bound" it allows the plant to continue to grow as if soil just magically appeared one day. Low stress. Immediate acclamation. Vigorous growth.

Thanks for the info. MMG. So why do so many people tell you not to let your plants get root bound? I've heard that countless times. I'm a little bit confused reading that, something I thought was almost a gardening law, is actually not true. Is this common knowledge for growing mj?
You obviously get great results so live and learn.

you can get root-bound differently in diff mediums.

i would prefer to have massive rootball then plant, they go crazy in their new home, and wont drown in their new home either :)
