cloneing the lower 1/2 of a branch...

ever since i did this...on accident,
i do it by choice all the time now...

Ive found that cloneing the lower portion of a branch, that has already given the top for a cut...is a great way to get 2-3 plants...with one root structure.

by watching the Kali, split into 3 seprate branches
each took on the charictaristics of the full plant...
she looked like 3 plants with one root , 1 main stalk that branches out from just above the surface of the soil.
the benifit was a bigger overall yield for the plant...
i think that would be applied well for the SCROG or SOG guys.?

I do the Same Joe.

and plus from now on I'm chopping the biggest Branch just before 12/12. That way I don't get a few larger colas that block out all the smaller ones.

Here's a pic showing how it branches just above the soil. But it also shows how if you don't keep the branches uniform in size some will produce bigger buds than the rest. MtnJohn has it figured out better than me.

what do you do with the top you cut out?????
i was going to do that and just clone the whole top of the plant and run her DWC>>>
might take a min for the roots to catch up to the greenage....BUT, WITH THE DAM'S>>>idiot proof cloner....I think ITS worth a shot?? i was going to do it w/ the CJ...because of its sheer size...missing the whole top of the plant would have made the lower portion perfect size...then i looked at how much actual buddage would show up on that top....got cool feet...

Hey Joe. Thanks. Yes that's usually the best clone to take from the bunch since it has the best interspacing of branches in a small top. Makes the next plant jump started with branches. Top that clone and you can end up with 4-6 branches almost straight out of the soil. I've been the same Joe, afraid to chop the choice branch, but after watching some other great growers here do scrog evenly, it makes more sense to chop early in flower before buds start forming and get your canopy even.

Did that make sense?...Sunday afternoon here and I'm a little over medicated.....mmmm LUI

How many weeks for this girl?
can you see the fingernailclippers? she got a bit too big too.
MUCH easier to bend than the CJ> had to double tie that girl down...and she's still bustin loose.
