hae a great day everyone , i'm off to the farm to wade in horse manure and prepare and plant my potatoes . it has been the wettest winter and early spring since world war 2 , so we have a few flooded areas. the sub soil is solid silt and sand with no fibre . not ideal for trying to grow anything , but we have dug more drainage and we are mounding a few trees to counter to flooded weeks we suffer . when its warm and sunny , it is fine .

Rooster is a red-skinned, yellow-fleshed cultivar of potato, duller in colour than the 'Désirée', with floury yellow flesh.[1] It is uniformly roundish in shape with shallow eyes making it easy to peel. It is a general-purpose potato. It can be boiled, mashed, chipped, roasted, steamed and baked. It was originally bred in 1990 at the Teagasc Oak Park Research Centre in Carlow, Ireland by Harry Kehoe.[2][3] In 2004, 'Rooster' potatoes accounted for 38% of the total potato production in the Republic of Ireland

can't go wrong with roosters imo. home grown they are tasty too .
