C and P from the NORML site and they have attorneys listed by state. IMO, if you are growing herb and do not know what the true legal ramifications are, then you need to find out. There are so many variables to take into consideration. Educate yourself, knowledge is power!

I called one in my state and talked with an attorney. He did not ask any personal info as far as my name or whereabouts. Just asked about any past legal trouble etc. I told him I got his name from the NORML site and he was very helpful.

I got info from him that I didn't find on any site.

NORML Legal Committee

The NORML Legal Committee (NLC) is composed of attorneys committed to the overall goals of NORML. NLC attorneys meet each year in Key West to discuss emerging legal issues related to defense of marijuana consumers, and to support each other in the pursuit of justice. The NLC assists NORML by informing NORML of current trends in law enforcement and important judicial decisions, providing NORML with copies of relevant briefs and other legal documents, and by making themselves available to provide expert legal assistance in important cases. These top-notch criminal defense lawyers regularly defend individuals charged with marijuana offenses, and they frequently provide pro bono assistance in important or unusual cases which may set favorable legal precedent or otherwise impact public policy. A few of the many victories NORML lawyers have won include:

Securing the right of some patients to use marijuana medicinally, via the defense of medical necessity.
Halting government use of dangerous herbicides (e.g., paraquat) for marijuana eradication.
Protecting marijuana smokers from double jeopardy.
Protecting people from unreasonable searches and seizures.
Limiting the National Guard's participation in enforcing marijuana prohibition.
Securing access to parks and other public spaces for rallies, protests and concerts.
Limiting law enforcement officers' ability to conduct random and warrantless searches of passenger buses.
Limiting helicopter overflights and infrared searches.
Securing the return of patients' seized marijuana.
NORML maintains a computer list-serve for the NLC where members can locate a needed brief or motion, find an expert witness, brainstorm the theory of a case, or seek other legal help. The NORML Foundation maintains a legal director who can provide help to NLC members who call for assistance.

Currently, more than 350 practicing defense attorneys belong to the NLC. By defending marijuana smokers and challenging inappropriate law enforcement activities, the NLC has been a major force in the fight against marijuana prohibition. For more information about NORML or the NLC please contact NORML.

POMH I do appreciate it sweetie maybe I should have made clear from the beginning, I know exactly what will happen to me if I get caught thats why I'm freaking outI'll be incarcerated,no question and no doubt even with my 20 grand lawyer.Thats part of my problem, whether I feel like a criminal or not,I am in the eyes of this state.Thats starting to wear on me,I'm about as far from a criminal as you will find anymore in this day and age. What I am is a scared philanthropist,I'm pushing 6 years in a very scary place lol.I cant wait for the day people,I just cant up and leave dear ole mom after losing dear ole dad but I dont plan to live the next 20-25 years thisaway

I feel for ya. I have never been in any legal trouble so I felt that I got fairly encouraging news from the attorney I talked to. I actually was able to put mine and my husbands paranoia to rest a bit.

But at least you know what would happen should you get popped, it is important to know. And I agree, I don't see myself as a criminal either, it is a frustrating thing.

Peace

Ya know OP, that may be true but it is not because I am controversial. Maybe because when you are asked to "step into" a thread, there has been some trouble. Please take the time to research my posts here at IC Mag. I generally am very positive and encouraging to other members, but when I am confronted, I do respond in kind.

as I said I didn't see you getting confronted, infact quite the reverse
thought I'd made that clear If not I'll say it again you were the one bitching
kokua only pointed out your info may be incorrect

and I have read through your posts, but as I said I deal with lots of members
but your name keeps popping up esp when theres trouble in a thread

OP

OP

This does not seem like only pointing out my info was incorrect:

kokua said:
wtf???What did I say to you smilin? I have always been nice to you, never said anything negative about you. Because I disagree with pomh? Get a life.

lol I am about sick of ths fucking site and the fucking kids that patrol it...im an inch away from leaving competely. You guys suck.

kokua said:
I have been here from the fucking beginning folks...APRIL 04. The only reason I come around is to help, but you guys don't want it....

...now that alot of my old friends don't post anymore cause you assholes jump on em all the time. Im tempted to follow them...see you around iCmag. It as fun while it lasted... :badday:

I took these as directed at me as well as the other 2 members who had just posted. I may be a tad oversensitive when it comes to Kokua because he can't seem to leave me alone and is quite hateful and mean to me in pms, reps and posts. I guess maybe that would put a member on edge, ya think?

But up until these posts, I had not been confrontational with him at all. I was simply responding to posts I thought were directed at me. Although with our history, the fact that he even came into a thread and quoted me to disagree, is antagonistic. Best to ignore those that bother you so badly.

I was responding to OP, you calling him a lady?

Clearly I have been talking with the "dude" in this thread this morning about the issue he is concerned with. If you had actually read the thread, he said he cannot move right now because of family obligations.

hahaha you pos rep me then talk shit? hahahahahahahaha

20K members here now. Im sure admin doesnt have time to keep going over this. My advice is to just try to blend in and let this go. Admin has more then enough to do here to say nothing of the 420 celebration they are all working on.

Wow! I know alot of peeps in this thread. WTF people! This division in the canna community is BAD!

WTF!

There is an ignore button on your CP.....use it.

Lets get on to being united. Pass on useful information and learn!

Divided we will all go down and nothing will ever get done to improve our situation.

I'm over it,I help good people who otherwise would get crap somewhere else,no damage done.I couldnt do near the damage in a lifetime that the owner of the corner liquor store can do in one shift, with the liquor pills and roses in little glass tubes lol.I'd still feel a lot better doing it for medical patients someday. As for angry fighting hippies lol MJ never hampered my spirit!

Not trying to bring this thread back or anything, but I have some legal questions that I don't want to start a new thread for.

In my state they base your charges off of the weight of the plants, do they take just the buds, wet or dry?
one plant could weigh up to lb's if that is the case.

Also has anyone ever tried contacting an attourney like pomh suggested? It has always been my impression that there was no way a lawyer would help you out without forking over 300 bucks for an hour or part there of.

I'm sure states do weights differently, one thing is for sure.I have yet to see a midveg to flowering plant be valued at anything under 1000 dollars and they just busted someone downhere with some scragly 4 footers and valued them at 5000 apiece, they werent even quarter pounders. So the fact is wherever in the United States you are,you can bet on major exageration.Just once I'd like to see a true quarter pound plant be valued at 1000 dollars,a tiny bit of honesty occasionally would be refreshing..

Man I know your feeling Have grown indoors for 9 yrs, busted 2 times in that nine years just ending the last of probationa nd all that good shit for the last 2 yrs. Ny sory is long so i won't go into that, I am waitning for my beeans right now from the boutique for someoutdoor work this yr, Have a girrilla plot been fixed since last yr and put new freash organos so readdy to go. Had a 5K organic system going last loved every minute of it. Ging to move in the next tr or so. I know Ill be growing inside again can't help it only way to smoke good weed and the amazment of the grow. As far as it being legal antyime some I don't see maybe next generation of folks but not in my life time. Just be safe, get big balls and say fuck it this is waht i'm going to do and i know the outcome if I'm busted. Parinoria will only cause mistakes IMO
