It's hard to tell from those close ups dude,

Give them a few days and you will know for sure. I'd pop those other beans just incase :)

Where did SGS say not to cross AF to regular?

It *should* knock a few weeks off the flowering time of the regular strain, I say go for it.

Gonna save the other 8 beans for next season.. as that was my plan originally, my Regs are getting fairly big and have had the big chat "do you think it right growing weed with Kids" all i can come back with is "I'm not hurting anyone".

Maybe i'm wrong but i thought i read in a thread as dude was flaming Autos and SGS advised not to use AF to Regs (for general release) incase the offspring was used by someone else unknowinly aware that it had AF genes? I could be making all this up.

I'm just a hobbiest/pollen chucker.. and my widow has come to the end of the line and thought it would be good to try and improve on it for my needs.

I'm thinking that AF1 would be a good choice.. it's fast growing very broad/dark leaves and sturdy as hell.. the slugs didn't go near it.

as for the photo's sorry my phone dosn't really do closeups.. i'm 90% sure 1&2 are male and poor old number three will be a few weeks off i'm sure.

My take on that was it's good to keep certain regular strains preserved rather than everything containing AF genes, obviously if you're in an area big for outdoor growing it could piss people off being irresponsible with pollen/AF pollen.

But I think it would be a fun little project. :)

stop press AF1 has pistils.. Although still looks like it has balls growing?? Need to find my magnifying glass to get a closer look.

Please excuse the bad pictures.. i'm not alowed to use the proper camera for illegal purposes.

This is AF#1 yesterday you can just about make out pistils on the left hand node.. there is a ball of growth on the right but dosn't look like a male flower so i'm hoping it's just undiffined veg growth.

picture.php

AF# 2 is looking like a male.. so i'm happy at the moment.

Mitch i've been looking at phots of your young plants and think AF#1 might be a Pinkbud, it has very broad leaves comapred to AF#2.

Eggy

EDIT: That undifined growth on AF#1 was some wierd male flowers.. kinda vegative growth with the long pollen sacks not quite developed.. Have pulled them off. The rest of the plant seems to be flowering normally so must have been some stress i caused it?? Full Moon or Insecticide i spayed who know?

Hey man, that's good news! - was af1 the one with little to no slug damage?

Can you take a current top down picture of it?

I've had AF's that i've misread the sex to begin with, just keep an eye on it

cheers

Yeah AF#1 had no slug damage.. It doesn't have much smell if i rub the stems so dont know if that had somthing to do with it, or they were too mash up after ravaging No3.

Will get some better shots later of 1&2 to see what you think they might be... will have to sneak out the mrs camera.

They both look very similar except that No.2 is slightly less broad leafs and has a slightly lighter green colour.

whats up eggy that girl is looking nice, some broad leafs on her eh. It is crazy how fast these auto's mature once flowering starts. Week by week you can watch them grow. My sour 60's will tripple in hight from the onset of flower. I got lucky with the 1st S60 release all very big pheno's, My f2s were more vigorous (this could be in part to being older). I had a male reach 44 inches in a 1.7L pot. best of luck to ya mate

hey Lloy,

This is my first try with auto's but so good so far.. i originaly brought these as a way of getting a quick bit of bud while i wait for my regs to finish, but think i will go mainly auto's for next season.

Gonna cross these two and maybe even try and cross my kosen rufu male to the female AF if i can get some pollen off him in time, He's got the most amazing grapefruit smell and has been good smoke in the past.

With the (AF1 x Kosen Rufu) F1's i rekon i could get them to F5's in about three seasons if i can get a two grows a season from each seed batch, inbreeding the best true AF from the cross.. Other than that im just happy playing around with this Mix from SGS and see what i end up with, bud to smoke is not really my main factor as i dont really smoke much any more.. just love growing plants.

Nice one eggy, You should be in for some good growth now she looks established, Just have to hope we get some good sunshine!

I can't tell from the photos but PB was quite slow in seedling stage for me, but flowered like a rocket. What seed was AF1 from ?

What size pot again?

i got the seeds mixed up as soon as they germ'd, I only knew seed 12 was the one I lost early on because of it's freakish size.

Thats a shame mate, from what i have tried, the dark mottled seeds have been Secret Citrus, the PB were more grey mottled. We will know soon, unless it is something completely different..? :)

Hey Eggy they look great! Seems you found some dwarf types,, there are some very sativa dominant seeds in the AF Mix #1 but you will enjoy these just the same. Im waiting to see if you get any colors from your female. Will help narrow down what she is.

If you are wanting to go full AFs from now on, working on a few that will do you justice outdoors. The 1st is one of the fastest AFs in the world, stays small with very little branching, mainly buds on a stick, made for outdoor/indoor SOG (6-9 plants per sq ft) 50-55 days from seed. The other is a WHITE OGRE cross, very large outdoor/indoor production plant. 70-77 Days from seed.

Which one would you be more interested in?

Hey SGS,

I like the sound of the first one!!
The thing with my grow is i get a hard time from the Mrs as we have two yound children blah blah blah.. :violin:

My regs this year are being tightly trained but are nearly chest hight and havn't even started to flower yet

However she has not mentioned the nice little dwaf AF#1.. she knows it's there she's not stupid but i guess as it's small she's less bothered about it.

Next year i think it'll be autos all the way! i plan on doing a perpetual type out door SOG with maybe 6 plants at a time planting April/May/Jun possably July also.

Next year I'll also grow out the rest of the seeds from the Mix pack and see what else it throws at me.

Depending how my regs trun out i might have a mess around and try and get one to auto.. but the dont look like they are in a hurry to flower.

Another quick update.

The Female was pollenated on Monday and the Male binned.. i think we had some light rain in the middle of the night but hopefully i will still get a few seeds. The lower four pop corn buds are the ones that have been dusted.

This is a photo of her yesterday night (19/07/2011)

She looks really nice and dark green but was wondering if any of you guys think it's worth giving her a dose of PK13/14? all she has had untill now was the FBB and Growmore i added to the soil mix. (both NPK 7-7-7).

She looks healthy mate, although I guess a little booster for flowering couldn't hurt.

How tall is she?

Did you save any pollen to sprinkle on any non-AF's you have going?

I guess she's about 30-40cm i've not really checked to be honest.. I'm hoping she go on a bit more that 75days and starts to put some more weight on.
