Selfhemployed's 3K Stadium Scrog. R&C amdt. 20

Seeing this totally convinces me that vertical is the way to go. I too am dealing with an 8x8 space, but I have been running horizontal. My next run will be stadium style like this, but I'm still up in the air about how to arrange the lights. Seeing your grow makes me wanna go side by side. I think there are valid reasons to stack em up too though.

Why did you choose side by side, as opposed to stacked?

when using the bio bizz did you use half bloom half veg and at what ppms thanks if not can you let us know what you fed and ppms.

More or less follow the bottles.. I rarely feed though. It's never the same.

I dig the white. Everyone says she has no smell but my white REEKS and a patient favorite. A bit too strong for me but a true grade A plant imo.

Your thread was the initial motivation to convert my whole 2K horizontal grow into a stadium grow. I am basically imitating your setup. I am having a bit of a problem with the drip irrigation system leaking all over the place but....it will be worked out by the weekend.

Sick!! My advice is to hand water for the first run or two until you get everything just perfect. Otherwise I have a feeling you'll be doing it twice.

Thanks man... The Toe jam was a one time run for me. I liked it but didn't love it. Actually am smoking on some as we type. Not overly strong which is good for those prone to paranoia

WOW I was just "re-reading" your thread, (it is so informative) and saw you grow "The White" I was just given 8 teens of this cut from a very good friend and for free! Bobble got me the background on this strain and I am really looking forward to growing it out in my vert/stadium/scrog....thanks for the info on flowering time and wet/dry thingy, I will employ that....and keep that sick bud porn coming.

Not sure if anyones around to answer this, but is hand watering still a possibility if running this same setup without water lines?

Love the scrog, want to do the same just worried that I wont be able to get a wand in there too easily.

Hey bud, i abandoned the irrigation system a few weeks in. I'll go back to it but it will be better designed. I hand watered with a 1/2 hp pump, 20 gallon trash can and a 3 foot wand. I just sat on the floor in the middle and could reach all plants no problem. Hope that helps.

I chose side by side because I was only able to run two lights and they wouldn't have covered the area with being stacked. i think an alternating pattern one high one low... high/low all the way down the row would be awesome.

Thanks for the nice words. different strokes homie.. sure I enjoy great hazes, which I do grow for my head. my patients primarily benefit from the more indica dom and mind numbing kushes. I also enjoy them.

I'm not sure what you mean about lack of stretch in vert?? All of my plants stretched.. from the very hazy toejam to my full on paki royal kush. I actually depended on the stretch to fill in the screens.

Another benefit of this system is that you can slow down the stretch on plants, this is very handy for growers wanting to grow sativa's that have a 3 x + stretch. In some of the v-scrog grows I've come across it would seem that when you stop raising the light the plant responds by cutting it's stretch and focus more of it's energy in bud production which is real handy I think you would agree

Why did you take out 1,000 watts of HPS towards the end of flowering? Someone said that the UV light MH puts off might increase resin and DJ short claims the blue light yields a more complex and larger terpene profile. It seemed to me that you agreed and this is the reason you decided to take the aforementioned course of action. But neither of those claims would entail removing the HPS. You could still have blue light/uv from the MH while having the HPS. Again not degrading as 1.3 GPW is fucking amazing (especially as a first attempt @ vert with a bunch of strains), just tryin' to learn!

Hey there . The third hps light was taken out at week one. It was just too hot. That means I ran 2k hps all through flower until the very end. At the ened I took out one of the hps bulbs and put in a mh. So for the last week or two I had 1k hps and 1k mh. The reasons I did it are exactly as you stated. Hope that clears things up!

I just finished my 2k vertical stadium run, a la SelfHemployed, using sunpulse bulbs. I used the 3k and 6.4k together, then finished with replacing the 3k for the 10k uvb.

My OGs have bigg'ol fuzzy cabbage buds, stank'n up the joint. lol
The 10k really did it's job, even for only 1 weeks use. During flush, it helped bring out depth in the color of the buds, covering them in a platinum sheen.

Skywalker OG 8 weeks

Ladies loved the blue of the 6.4k. I think I will replace the 3k with another 6.4k and finish up with 2 10k's next go around instead.
