Waiting for this to dry and for my nwe 430 hortilux to come in the mail. then I also got these " the huge ones are the cross to the green cracks. then the la con chcolope f2...and some of mixed with venom and royal kush " with it that found there way. SO I will be set for the year. Just gotta get a veg cabby up to start Breeding.
Just a few updates from around my garden, there is so much going on it can be hectic. If you've been following all my test grows in the DG section you may have already seen a lot of this, but a lot of people don't read subforums so here it is!
First up is the Witches Weed (SFV/ChemD x C99) and Grape Sorbet (Blue Satellite x C99) from DG.
Today was their 3rd or 4th watering, and also day 19 in veg i believe. Since i took care of all my flowering girls yesterday, today was time to pull everyone out of the veg tent, clean a bit, and give everyone some TLC.
The plants are looking great, super healthy and very vigorous.. in fact so healthy that I grossly underestimated the c99 side of things, so i may have to end up putting these in 5 gal buckets ultimately, which i've never done before (normally finish in 3gal).
The berry smell of the Grape Sorbet i can seem to no longer find, it's seemed to have evolved into a musky rotten fruit smell, you can still sense the fruity nature but it's gotten very stinky. As for the Witches Weed, think about your very first baggie of good weed, how great and memorable that classic potent marijuana scent smelled, and that is exactly the scent of the WW.. very skunky and pugent.
The Grape Sorbet is extremely branchy and stetchy, very similar pant structure to a SLH that i've got going in my flower tent at the moment. All of the tips are starting to match the lead growing tip, which means that we're going to have a large multi-cola plant. The WW is slower in node growth, but is a tad bit taller and more pine tree like, with a very strong sturdy main cola.

I didn't bother to snap a pic of the WW 4&5 since they're still about half the size, but they're doing just great (you can see them in the group pic).
Next up is an update on the Merlin's Magic (Acapulco Gold x Cinderella99). This is an untested experimental cross that is in the beta-testing phase, two legendary sativas coming together into one.
Germ'd 2-21 they were super fast to germ and appear above ground, i think it was like 36 hours!

Whew, i think that about brings everyone up to speed. The purple widow i was testing turned out to be a bust, 4/4 males that autoflowered, so i gave up on that. My Kanky Kush/OG18/Sleestacks are at exactly day 30 and look phenomenal. I'll be sure to take some pictures in a week or so!
Alright gang, promised a hefty update and here it is. The girls are at day 23 in veg and are about 16" high, very branchy and healthy.
I haven't found anymore than have sexed identifiably, however i can see some very tiny little preflowers being worked in in a few, so the next couple days i'm sure the majority will be showing sex.
Also to note, they're all getting very smelly quickly, a lot quicker than other strains i've grown. I haven't found very much identifiable pheno variation in the GS just yet, however the WW i've identified both a pine tree like sativa pheno, and a very hybridized pheno.

One of the goofy ones i fim'd, it's got little gimpy shoots goin on, we'll see how it does.

Very good looking growth nnep! No calciem or K issues or anything, no wonder they are growing so fast. I'm currently having something of a K issue with my plants, they are still growing fast, but I wonder how much faster they could be!
Have you ever had a calcium or K problem using your setup? and if so, what did you do to fix it?
Ever since i switched to the floranova series, i haven't had any problems with deficiencies what so ever, the plants seem to love that stuff.
I've struggled a bit with deficiencies in the past however, usually the best cure is to add an extra dose of Cal/Mag, that stuff does wonders. I usually won't flush unless my ph is out of wack, which is very rare since i ph test all my water/runoff. I really don't know what to offer in terms of advice besides the obvious, but luckily the obvious answer is usually the right on. Do you use cal/mag? If not i definitely recommend picking it up and giving them a dose with your normal nutrients. I find a lot of commercial lines lack those two minerals.
Ya, I use cal-mag, but I don't use a bottled fert like you. I'm all organic this go around with just peat, perlite, blood, bone, kelp, greensand, and lime. I did however use powdered hydrated lime instead of the right dolomite lime, I think that is why some of my problems exist.
I usually always give them a slight dose of cal-mag with liquid karma, and occasionally molasses.
Ever since I top dressed all my plants with a touch of kelp meal, and some jamaican bat quano, they seem to have gotten better.
But, they never really did slow down at all.
Next grow though I'm trying my luck at growing in coco coir using GH's Flora series "not nova" per Rezdogs' recommendations.
I think the hydrated lime i used might have wacked out my nutrient balance or something, it may have gotten used up too fast.
All in all though, everything is still coming along rather quickly.
