Good luck. Very interested in what you decide to toss it on once successful.

I have way too many seedlings up already and considering cracking even more catpiss x moontangs...
but I only want a male with the funk trait, so I expect to throw most, if not all of them away until I find him.

I'll know if they have the trait very young.

A couple of questions?????

Around what day would one expect pollen to be falling?

What would be the best way to capture it? Anyone have favorite methods they use?

And then.......since this pollen is a reversed female (gg4), does that make any offspring of the pollen "feminized"? Or will female/male seeds come of plants I hit it with?

Thanks :tiphat:

she should start dropin pollen in 2 weeks maybe alittle longer just depend on how many flower pods ,nutsacks she puts out.
U just gona colect pollen & hand dust, or just dust all at 1 time & colect some pollen?

this how i collect pollen take a cut or3-5 put ends in a cup of water,i have a pice of smoked glass, but mirrows .alum foil, will work, pollen falls on to the glass then i scrape it up.
Dont pick your flower stem too early or u want get much if any pollen .
this branch had flowers opening just below where i cut them [meaning these next flowers should be opening next/soon]
that pollen was over night & u can collect pollen for several days befor having to scrape it up.
im sure C4 has some good idea.
thats still a big mfo plant.

Great news :tiphat:

I wouldn't know exactly when she might start dropping pollen...... 1-2 wks??
But if you want to collect pollen as she grows... I usually take a piece of card board that is a little larger than the plant is round, cut a notch in the card board so you can slip it around the stem and align the centers of the card board and plant..... then I take some plain white paper and line the card board with it..... overlapping them so to catch any falling pollen.
Once the harvesting is done, you can remove the papers with pollen on them and scrap with a razor blade to get it all. I scrap it all on to a mirror or picture frame (glass).... then store in your normal fashion.

I let the pollen sit for a few days if it's super fresh...... (But that's with male pollen that is plentiful)
Sometime add some flour with the pollen it helps with moisture and spreads the pollen out for more projects... place in a air tight vial or the like... I then place in a larger container with rice (dried) and then into the freezer..... the non defrosting type lol.

And I am lead to believe the offspring will be female.....

Hope this helps:tiphat:

yup... femmed offspring since, much like Maury, you wont find a baby daddy here... only moms, one of which has been abused...

I've stuck em in a cardboard box on top of my fridge with the top wide open where I keep a T5 and have a towel pinned to the ceiling... the low amount of air movement keeps it all in place... of course taking steps to at least kill intake or growroom ventilation / air movement when you mess with it...
then I use a spray bottle of plain water... after I'm done with the pollen box and before I get wind moving I spray the air all over as I walk around to knock down anything still floating in the air.

oh yeah... and oversized soil pots means you can get away watering... and thus disturbing them... less often...
since you dont need full bud density here, letting em get to where the leaves droop aint horrible...
