turn on cnn for awhile tonite. they have been talking about how alot of this intel. gathering works. as far as how they obtain information using keywords and ip addresses.( nothing that pertains to OG) just the terrorist shit. But a pretty good low down on what they are capable of

first off, I would like to say i didn't read this whole thread so this may or may not have been covered. sorry bout the edit but i wanted to rephraze this. I know that OG nor CW logged your Ip address but in your user profiles it has an email address saved, given this couldn't the LEO use that email address to find your IP addy's? I know for a fact the goverment can read your email ay any given time, and I would think that MSN/Yahoo/hotmail or others would keep records of your IP address. just a thought. could someone with more insight to email/ip's help out here

as far as the email thing goes i don't see it being a problem but i'm no expert . I could go sign up for an Board i wanted to be it gay porn or child porn or midget porn or well.. you get the point. I could put anyones Email in there, even yours, or maybe my school teachers email??? are they gonna bust down his door? are they gonna bust down any of our doors??? no they aren't, it doesn't work that way, folks should really just chill out a bit and quit being so paranoid, all the cops and agents and and dea's are not all in a big room focusing on YOU , the couple of kilowatt grower. so just relax and go take some clones

I dont see anyone trying to spread "FEAR". Just some knowledge and a little advice to the...lets say larger scale growers. You need to just think rationally about your own grow/grows. Remember lothar stated that you are 99% safe. Can YOU handle the possibitlity of being that 1%? Take it from me first hand, I was not prepared to be busted. I was not a commercial grower and made no money from it. I worked, never felt the need to put away a rainy day fund (nor did I have the ability)...I was lucky to have made many friends. 1% unsafe could fuck up someones life if unprepared.
Most patriot act cases get thrown out of court? Where is this information? If true you still need money for a damn good lawyer. If you have it, fine.
As for how leo works? Use your head, if in the USA you already know (or should). The DEA is most likely NOT going to kick in anyones doors. They may target some large scale growers and make a sweep ( operation <add stupid fucking name here> )
I know an ex naro cop very well. He has told me many a story about how shit goes down. They dont have the info on you needed to gain a warrent...THEY WILL MAKE SHIT UP! THEY WILL WATCH YOU AND COLLECT INFORMATION on you by going through your trash, even in YOUR CAR if unlocked and on the street! If they are sure you are illegal and you are good enough to hide all from them, they will bust you JUST TO SHUT YOU DOWN! The DEA does pass on info for locals to handle! <----straight from the mouth of my ex narco friend. He quit the force because he "felt like a crimminal"
