You'll never see them much above 9000ft.

Long ago, I had a very strange experience with garter snakes at Smith Reservoir south of Blanca. It was early in the season & fishing was beyond slow, so I walked down by the dam. From a hole in the side of the canyon just below the dam garter snakes started pouring out in a rush, probably thousands of them. It was over in just a few minutes & they were everywhere.

Rattlers den up to hibernate the same way but I don't think they come out quite like that. It really was amazing.

Not trying to be 'that guy' but I have been in the woods down south and seen rattlers pour out of a hole like that before. I have seen thousands of rattlers in my time in the woods but have only seen that one time... to put that in perspective, in all my time in the woods I have only seen 2 panthers so yes, VERY rare phenomena. Hopeful estimates put there being around 100 panthers in the wild. (When I talk to a guy who works with exotics and big game cats he thinks around 60)

Things are looking good over there, going to have a strong finish. I noticed the overhead netting, what are you trying to keep out or in?

I use similar netting over my chickens area to keep the hawks and owls from picking them off. Keeps the chickens in too, a couple were able to fly out.

ya, that's "quail netting" - not sure if it will keep ANYTHING out that would effect the plants, might slow down a heavy hail storm and reduce the carnage in that unfortunate event....
i put it up because the word on the street is that the local sheriff wants all ganja patches covered
the law (vaguely) states that outdoor must be in a "locked enclosure"
last year local LEO didn't give a damn, and made NO public statement but nearly all local growers have "heard the rumor"
so
i'm playing it safe

since i went thru the work of doing it.... may look into getting some quails next season, i dunno

Loving the show Miles!!

thanks zap
been weeding like crzy in the field and working the weed eaters in the rows.... ag water is on this week so im flooding the field also, trying to to work directly where the water is flowing to avoid getting muddy but.... it's inevitable
did a bunch of weeding around the ganja plants as well

topdressed the full season outdoor plants with oly mtn compost, fish bone meal, gypsum, fish amino proteins (pure protein fish 15-1-1), kashi and some more hay mulch over all that

rainy morning today, don't want the light dep buds getting that wet, so i had to delay pulling the tarp off this morning for an hour or so to wait out the rain, then pulled the tarp back, woke up the ladies, and promptly covered the hoop with a piece of clear plastic (reinforced with nylon)
should keep the buds from getting too wet

taking clones like there is no tomorrow.... trying to keep all these dank varieties around, or at least some of them....

out in the field today killing males left and right

then went out foraging for mushrooms, found a bunch of fresh puff balls, some shaggy manes and some king boletes

^ himavat, indica pheno, much more sweet than the sativa one, smell reminds me of trainwreck and pck/afghan - structure is all pck for sure

picture.php

^ dosi-flos
finally got a kushy pheno from these seeds, real earthy and funky with just some hints of creamy cookies, smells are subtle but incredible

picture.php

^^ chunky diesel - seeds came from jefe noche
grapey gas smell, very very dense buds - like a rock

picture.php

^ grapestomper og x bubba jam
grapestomper og leaning pheno
probably the most frosty plant in the dep, buds are more leafy and less dense than others but going to be an amazing smoke im sure, trim is going to be super potent i bet

picture.php

^ who dat's glue
smells somewhat subdued but like a stinky diesel with sweet cotton candy like hints in the background.... that sweetness was stronger early in bloom but are fading now in favor of more earthy funky smells kinda like a diesel/chem but also kinda afghan-y
