It seems the DM Zone and H2o2 have turned the brown-tan goo into white bubbly goo. It seems to be mostly gone and dont see any new brown goo They have only been in the aeroflo for 3 days.
Can anyone identify the goo?
I tried to take pics but I couldnt get the goo to show in a picture.
The leaves look a little worse today than yesterday. i bumped the ppms to 500.
Most brown root goo is pythium. The old leaves won't recover - the important thing is to stop the progression of uglys and begin new healthy growth. Once all the brown is gone and stays gone for a couple days - change out the res and bring the zone level back to normal and bring the nute levels back up. High levels of H2O2 and anti-fungals slow the plants growth.
hello all!!! Jut checking in to let you know i am still with you!!!
@AK
My roots are looking great! the plants have taken off and are all, with the exception of a couple, about 10-12 inches tall... I will be purchasing the proper nutez within a couple days when i get paid.... Also, i will be cutting the clones off of them... All this will be done by the weekend and i will be ready to flip into bloom!!!
-Should i wait a certain amount of time after cutting the clones to flip?
- And, will u post the hyperlink to the thread on trellis blocks? I still dont understand how that little thing holds up plants...
I can't respond to your pm because of the "full mailbox" issue with folks that have less than 50 posts. I don't publicly post pms without permission - so give me the word and I'll put it in here.
This system for under 50 posters has been a real PITA when trying to help folks who are new or delurking. Hang in there - we will make it work!

The two outside small holes allow the bungy cord to firmly hold the trellis block to the top of the root chamber.
The three larger holes let you insert the dowel into the position that helps you the most.
Set up two per chamber and lash a third dowel between them.
They work like tinker toys and can be as complex as you wish to take it. In my grows you can see simple 1 level trellises to triple crazy setups. The main thing is that you can control every plant in the grow and get maximum efficiency with this tool.
First off let me start by saying thank you for all your contributions, you have already answered more questions than you will ever know.
Long story short. I have soil grows under my belt, only run 2k of lighting and want tO maximize yields for this space. I have been able to leave my soil projects unattended for a week at a time no issues.
I want to switch to aero but since I'm not able to visit grow everyday, more like every 3 or 4 this seems to be an issue with this system
If i run 6" round PVC for rails, Can I raise the drain tubes and keep 2-3" of water in the rail at all times and use 12" air stone bars placed in the rails? Sort of an aero/rdwc ? I would also have 2 pumps per res, staggered pump times to that if one shots the bed it's still ok. Same idea for keeping water level in the rails so that if something happens I have a little more time. Would like to have x2 36 site units in my 8x8, rez's would also be bigger.
Is this feasible?
--------------------
Yes it's possible. But with a few caveats.
4 days is an eternity in aero. A lot of things can happen in that time period - most of em bad. As you noted, a large reservoir would help reduce the bumps.
Making the system more DWC will help survivability, but the trade off is growth.
The hand off between multiple pumps switching off seems like more of a risk than a single pump failure.
2xaf36 in an 8x8 space won't fit easily(they are 4.5x4). However if you are designing your own systems, it shouldn't be too hard a problem to overcome.
These problems can be beaten if you are willing to put in the effort and money to make it so.
Before you begin this endevour, understand that you will likely have a costly learning curve and that with a complicated hybrid system - failure is always an option. But don't let that stop you from trying!
Best of Luck!

Note to newbies and delurkers:
The 50 post limitation make communicating by pm nearly impossible. I always reply, but the system may not allow those replys to reach you. I normally don't reply to pm's in public, unless I have more than one request that I can respond to in a generic reader mailbag segment. My mailbox is busy!
If you want to make sure you get your question answered - go ahead and toss it up in this thread. Don't be embarassed - there are no stupid questions. I intend to keep this thread a place to go to find answers as they pertain to the processes I use.
I don't have all the answers, I come here to learn too. I always try my best to explain what I have found through experiments and experience, and if I don't know, I tell you so. Belittling or chastising members has never been a part of my process. However I do ask that questioners at least bump the search box, so that their inquiry is most useful to the community.
In summation, your question is probably of interest to more folks than just you.
Other members may help you - especially in this thread. Members helping each other out is what this group is all about.
And tossing up your question here gets you 1 more post closer to 50!

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to bring this up. The 50 post thing is in place to encourage posting and I understand why its there. But it becomes problematic when newbies and delurkers want to step up and get involved right now. We will muddle through and make it work!
Ganga, my system was originally setup for dwc by using tubes in the drain holes. My header was alot like the aero feed system except it pointed to the middle of the tube so the spray aerated the water in the tube. Never used air stones anywehre just ran pump 24/7. Worked ok but my sytem setup was a pain because the roots tried to clog the drain holes, had to watch the drains. With a larger res you would probably be ok for 3 to 4 days but it is risky.
Thanks So much for the info. Common sense is telling me to stick with soil or at least go rdwc, but When it comes to aero I feel like the kid with the flu sitting at the window watching everyone ride their bikes outside lol.
I'll b watching and learning until I figure out wether I'm willing to roll the dice on this or not.
To veg using my recipies you will need DM grow A & B, and Potash +.
Optional but recommended:
DM Liquid Light and Saturator for foliar sprays. $100 bux for a years worth is a pretty good deal. I used this in my 5Lb challenge extensively, and use 7 applications (every other day, first two weeks) for my regular runs. I use 60 ml LL/60 ml Saturator in 1.25 Liters of RO water.
Just read the whole thread over again and so much good info holy lick.
Ok so couple more questions...
How is everyone's ph? Just wondering how it changes day to day, slow or rapid fluctuations? I know there are multiple variables to this question, and is the change usually in one direction up/down?
For this running their supply lines outside of the rails, any leaks issues or serious mishaps? I prefer this over inside for maintenance and accessibility, AK any input or suggestions given my situation?
Strain. Let go of previous genetics so starting over, defiantly need high yielding strain. Thinking of an indica dominant Critical cross? Like what Dinafem has to offer.
Pump failure I feel is my Achilles heel while unattended am I correct? Thought about only raising drain level when away for a few days and losing the air stones all together. Say I did that, walked out the door and the pump failed right there. With no air stones to oxygenate the water how much more help would that inch or two be? And for how long?
Aerokrafter - I know this is another variable question but can you or anyone else help me address even the top 3 problems to occur? I believe every prOblem has a solution.
Shit sorry for the long post, didn't mean to highjack by any means.
I transplanted into the aeroflo about 7 days ago, still fighting this goo, pythium maybe. The plants have only wilted since I put them in there. I rechecked my tap water and it is up around 90 ppm now. I readjusted to 525 ppm at 5.8 ph. I put in DM Zone, bleach, Physan, and a lot of H2o2. I also removed the plants and soaked the cups in a 10% peroxide solution for 10 min. Not sure if it helped but a lot of shit bubbled off of them. The plants new growth seems to be green and wilty and the old growth seems to be showing some kind of deficiency, maybe P. This is not starting well for me this time.
