This whole Iran run up reminds of the drum beating before we went into Iraq. Rabbble, rabble, rabble, Iran is going to get nukes tomorrow and wipe Israel off the map. rabble, rabble, rabble. Whip the masses into a frothy fever.

Leon Penetta said they weren't even close to acquiring weapons. From a security standpoint you can't blame them. The US has never invaded a nuclear armed country. We have to pursue a policy of containment because of this nasty thing in geopolitics called Mutually Assured Destruction. Lest we forget nukes have been around for 60+ years and the US is only to have tried them on people.

With the current escalation in rhetoric and economic warfare I reckon we are getting pretty close to military conflict Iran. Syria is devolving into civil war already and that's the backdoor into Iran.

Egypt, Libya, Syria, next stop Iran.

How the media hypes hypes these wars is terrible.

Whatever happens, the military expenditure pile of debt is unsustainable when we are already printing to cover structural deficits. We simply can't afford to go to war. We're broke. But in order for the ponzi to go on. There must be war. The beast needs debt creation to survive.

If continue on this path I may end up in the "you can't eat gold" crowd.

Israel has real problems like deteriorating relations with Turkey and Egypt. (If anything, this civil unrest in Syria might be good for Israel; if the Syrians are fighting in Homs, there are probably not funding unrest in Lebanon.)

Iran is made out to be way worse than it is. the people are just people like everywhere else. It is their oppressive government that could use some change. While I am not religious, I come from a Jewish Family and I am saying this.

I have a handful of Iranian friends, that love America and our way of life. why do people think they moved here? They love being able to see their wives in tight jeans and low cut shirts walking though the mall looking hot. they love eating bbq pork ribs. They love shows like 30 rock and Trailer park boys.

From a non extremest former Jewish Perspective Israel is fucked up. Jews are told to rise above this behavior in the Torah. I'm a fan of anything that seeks to curb health care costs. That said, I'm not happy with the law. I wanted single payer. Then I settled for the public option and didn't get that either. IMO, zero problem is a rather interesting assessment.

then get government out of healthcare completely. the lobbying powers of the AMA help inflate the cost of healthcare...

not to mention anything the government does always ends up costing more than the private sector, neither profit nor quality are government concerns...

i guess if you don't mind the bare minimum of service....

I would pay doctors, nurses, right on down to the janitors their market worth. I'd pay administrators of the various entities competitive salaries. But I'd get the 8 and 9 figure executives and shareholders out of the picture. There's a reason why technology charges so much for new heath care gear. We'll continue to pay the ever rising costs with our own insurance policies.

There's too little incentive to provide heath care technology at sustainable cost. Get the executive level profit margin out of the care business and you restrict technology's ability to bilk the system. I'm all for the heath outcomes of a relative few benefiting from astronomical costs but I'm also aware these costs are unsustainable.

Exxon and ConEd make a profit. They even pay their executives the big bucks. But heath care is hit with high costs from more directions and the result is what we have. We don't have to ruin our finances to pay for gas and electricity and the rich bastards still make a killing. Healthcare is spreading the killing in an ever wider circle of open hands and it gets bigger every time new technology is introduced.

He was more specifically talking about trespassing on private property, not national border crossing. IMO, it had to do with the whole "property rights" thingy. Besides, how do you determine where this hypothetical trespasser came from if you didn't see them cross the border and know their circumstances are illegal? Legals cross the border every day, whether they're green cards or American citizens traveling to or from Mexico. Trespassing doesn't necessarily have to be pedestrian. Take a wrong turn down a unfamiliar road and it might be your last wrong turn. Run into Mr. Property Rights and it might be all over.

Ive read a bunch of things, but im pretty sure the obamacare will eventually force insurance companies out. It limits their profits, and if people must be offered options, everyone will eventually move towards the cheaper, which will be the govt.

Me and a buddy were fishing on the edge of the river in the national forest and we pay attention to the posted markers so we don't get fined. A man building a house on a piece of private property told us to get off his land. My buddy explained his land didn't include river right of way. In fact, they guys deed is marked accordingly. The landowner assumes because no other private landowner is involved, he can tell us to cross the river, traverse his waterfront and then cross the river again to get where we're going.

I listened to my buddy correct every assertion the landowner offered. Then I reminded the landowner he was renting his motor home slip and utility connections from me and to have a nice day. If the fuck head was packing, the somewhat heated conversation might have got me and bud capped.

The same way we figure government salaries for career employees. We compare their salaries and benefits to the private sector. In fact, a recent study concluded that although career government employees are more educated than their private counterparts, they average slightly less in pay and benys than the private sector.

I'm not talking about paying doctors less or paying everybody the same. I just want to get the lifestyles of the rich and famous executives out of the pic. If a doctor makes a killing so be it but they'd better be directly involved in saving lives w/o killing livelihoods. I don't assume I know how to do it but I more than assume the same thing that fucks up health care fucks up most everything else- greed.
