Pepper and pine through and through...I'll let you know how this one turns out.

Pepper and pine is what the new school pseudo rom smells like, wouldn't exactly call it top shelf.

Just picked up a cut of rom that has been held by this guys fam in norcal since an uncle brought back seeds from the korean war in the early 50s. Never outcrossed by Joe, Federation, or Next Gen. All I ever knew the rom to be was the pepper/pine mersh that you describe. This is NOTHING like that. Closest I've smelt to RKS in a while with a heavy fruit aroma. Amazing flavor and high too. Will prolly run a whole tent of her at some point.

Screw the Romulan :) where is it's mother SOL Shiskaberry hiding these days?

Huh? but yeah... I would love to see someone offer some S1 seeds of the original. Not sure who still has it. Maybe Chimera?

The guy that made the F2 version has gone MIA.... Maybe that is karma at work.

I need to take a road trip out to the west coast to get some of these Classics.

Re: Romulan these days ... any good?

I thought the Romulan was a specific cut brought to the scene by Joe.

That cut (or supposedly) then used by everyone else in Canada back then to whore out.

The "Joes cut" is just to differentiate from the various seedlines I believe.

I have Rx (Romulan x F.I.) by VISC that is piney as hell.

#7 - Skunky, pine smell and taste. hard to contain the smell of dried buds. More of a night-time smoke.

#2 - Pine, coffee, incense, hashy taste and smells off of this pheno. Pretty balanced high, not too sleepy but still eases pain.

My only experience with Rom is with this cross but I'm sure that whatever cut was used for this up there on the islands was dank because there are some amazing pain-killing properties locked inside.

Im not expert nor do I know if a lick of this is accurate. Good story/info if you can get past Classic's "wall of text" style posting.

hi romulan joe was from california orginally from the central coast area santa cruz and medicino were his areas .he left for canada and was one of the few real sacred seeds plant tenders they started trying to preserve pot strains in the 30's when it became inlegal .even in the 60's the membership was closed and the younger members were in thier sixtys .romulan joe was the only guy who i know had any contact with this group . other people have claimed membership which is garbage because they were never any new members recruited or allowed and no one outside of the origonal founders and members were ever full fledged member.

they exsperimented with hybrids but always stayed true to thier goal of preserving landrace strains in their pure state .romulan joes is a mix of what he had from being a tender and what he found in the B.C. area when he migrated there to escape the feds in the early seventys and was the breeder of romulan and passed it around as he worked on prefecting it to grow in his new home.it has sativa and indica origons and owes its unique heritage to the global reach of old time smoker . the origional has purple stems always under any growing conditions whether its the sativa leaning or more indica one . i have breed this to the indica leaning side of romulan for over 30 years .it does have a grapey flavor when grown organically and the sativa leaning ones which were part mex and columbian and the origonal bc forrest skunk.these were not cross bred to indica have a more spicey flavor and often turned purple outdoors. where the indica dominate one does not turn solid purple but gets purple leafs hues in late stage flowering .neither does it show or have have skinnier leafs like the sativa side does.

it had a different twist every year it was grown and the spread out from the center of its creation which only lead to its dilution as people tried to make it bigger and faster and hopefully better which i never got ,just because you have a cut does not mean you have the strain like in seed form.when something is right and breeds true its nice for hybrids ,but when you don't have a clue you loss what you had and when you don't have the original parents seeds to back cross and maintain it .cuts die and grow weak and deluted and drifts into something totally different in time . just like how it changed as it had stuff added and subtracted but the origonal base was always maintained till joe was no longer able to be with us . its a true canadian american hybrid without either party it would never have exsisted and the primary strains joe loved were worked to breed true as possible aloha classic seeds

Joe is not as old as Cannivore's story makes him out to be. As he stated, its a nice story but just that. Peace GS

Green Supreme is kind of a "legend" in his own right. I've observed honest, insightful postings mostly. He also seems slightly older so I assume he's up to his chin over the years of amateur babble he has observed.

people should listen past greensupremes elitist bullshit because green supreen has more canadian strain knowledge than most people that still frequent this board and *post. the romulan cutting i had and lost was nothing sweet or grape. it was peppery and almost rank like a overcooked piece of meat. it made cone-like buds. it had a thudding indica high that was pretty nice but i have found better.
give gs a break from time to time because dude has alot to offer.
i personally barely can tolerate reading his posts but i do because i know he isnt wrong about alot of old strain info.

I'm not good with tact....I'm good with truth....I have seen him around the boards for years and yes I do have alot of respect for him.....but sometimes as you said I can barely tolerate reading his posts..I know he knows whats up in the great white north.....so how bout sharing it.....? The decription of romulan sounds a little like Albert Walker..only AW has a sharp garlic like rankness to her as well.
