Hi Snake missed this one ,nice looking scrog man ,going to be solid colas ..Bud

Thanks Bud. It seems like the new nutes and light have made a BIG difference.

Got a question for you, currently they are in 2.5 gallon pots. I just picked up some 4.5 gallon pots, think I should transplant to the bigger ones, or let em go in the ones they are in?

Thanks for the input. I'm gonna stick with what they're in. They've worked well for me so far.

Looks like the unknown Indica that was in the front roght was a male. It was the only one that didn't show initially. Pulled it out and adjusted the Gorilla Glue. Should allow the 2 in there to spread out more.

Yeah, I would rather have that extra space too. I've never done a scrog before, so we'll see how it goes.

I read a few different tutorials on how to do a scrog, but I had to do things a bit differently with these. I didn't top them soon enough so they were a bit tall going in. I trained the main stems to go horizontally again and it seemed to take well with them again. I've been able to get in there a few times a day to move stuff around and that seems to be working well. I've also been taking out big sun leaves below the screen or ones above it that are blocking bud sites and can't be tucked to not be blocking something. Plants aren't showing any aigns of stress, so I'll try not to go overboard. I've also been taking the lower slower shoots that can't make it up to the screen.

I've been following the nute dosing instructions for the FloraNova line from General Hydroponics using the dose for "Simple". I shift to the week 2 flowering mix today. I'll post the mix when I post my updated pic. I've also been feeding 3 times then just water the next time. I think it will probably take 3-5 weeks longer for the Jack Herer cross, so I'll probably have to use diffent mixes for each one after 3 weeks of flowering.

Feel free to give me any tips or suggestions, this my first attempt at doing a scrog so any tips are greatly appreciated.

Changed the nutes slightly based on instructions provided be General Hydroponics.

4 ml FloraNova Bloom 4-8-7
1 ml RapidStart 1-0.5-1
2 ml Liquid KoolBloom 0-10-10
1 ml Floralicious Plus 2-0.8-0.02

Per gallon pH at 6.0

The Gorilla Glue #4 will get this for 2 weeks.

Thr JH x PB will get it for probably 3-5 weeks.

Pulling that unknown Indica out of the front really gave me a lot more space. The Gorilla Glue is a bit lower than the JH x PB, so I'm trying to pull it down and out a bit. Things seem to be going good so far.

July7, day 10 flowering:

Took some more fan leaves off today to get more light to some shaded bud sites. Lots of sites on the JH x PB, not quites as many on the GG.

Don't bend too late into the game. GG#4 won't produce an even canopy and distributed tops if you you don't lollipop the fuck out her. I would make sure you have a node per square, and once thats done, let her go up. She could make a cola per square on your net, but you will need another net to support her colars come week 5+ when the weight stacks on.

Healthy looking plants. I never flowered in a tent, make sure its light proof!!!

From what it looks like, I would lolipop everything under the screen on the GG#4, and I mean everything, unless its just at the screen, get rid of it. She will have so many larfy nugs, and can hermie if not lolipopped enough.

After you lollipop you will notice her vertical growth blowing up. She seems slower than your other plant because she has a lot going on. She really needs to be pruned under neath.

Can we get a picture below the canopy?

I would love to help you succeed with this grow so that you get a nice crop of sticky stinky flowers with less work! Plus There are techniques and things you can take note of and practice to help you grow better!

Let me know if you have any questions about anything, i'll try my best :)

Here are 2 I just took:

Slightly diferent angle:

The tent is light proof and is also in a closet that is light proof, so no worries there.

I really appreciate the tips. Feel free to give any you know!

Took Lyryc's advice and lollipopped the hell out of the GG #4.

Before:

After:

Hopefully we'll see the stuff in the screen fatten up.

Lyryc,

Think I should do the same with the JH x PB?

Hey pal! Awesome lolipoppin' lol funny word.

I would say yes, to a certain degree. If you know she'll produce nugs to the soil, its up to you, some strains can do that.

I say go with your intuition. I recommend it. You want the stuff not getting light, gone by week 3. GG#4 is a notorious lateral brancher come stretch time. so even lolipopping you need to do a little bit more training to get the canopy how you like it with her because she can quickly get out of hand.

You'll notice more growth above the screen after the lollipopping as well.

day 11 is mid week 2 so you are rite on schedule. You will probably have to lolipop a little bit again in a week.

Did you think about a second Net for Canopy support?

I have a first screen to train the plant into - and then a second for supporting the nuggets once they swell.

This is my setup. The right side also has a 2nd screen but its not in the room for this older picture.

What size is your tent? DansBuds buys these Secret Jardin Nets that fit their Tents for this exact thing, lemme see if i can find em.

I started to clean the JH x PB up today. It is a bit tougher to do because it has a lot more lateral shoots than the GG#4 and seems to just be a leafier plant. I also tied some of the branches down and out a bit on it to help bring the canopy a bit more even.

I noticed a bit more growth already, was a bit surprised but I like it. I'll keep close eye on them and follow up with more lolipoppin next week if I need to.

I had actually built a few screens when I was getting ready, so I do have another ready when I need it.

This is my setup. The right side also has a 2nd screen but its not in the room for this older picture.

Nice, I would love to have a room that high. I'm kind of limited there due to tent size.

I'm a pretty small tent, 32"x32"x63", I'll definitely check on those prebuilt screens. I'm using plastic garden fencing as my screen currently, but I think I would be better off with a screen using a rigid frame.

Being in such a small tent and trying to get the max yield I can. I've really played around with with bending and training the last few runs and had pretty decent success with it.

In my first runs I stuck with just one plant at a time, but decided to try 2 at a time this run. My first run I didn't do much training, but since then I've done a lot of training and bending and also super cropped. I was previously running a 150 watt HPS in there and it worked, but my yields weren't as big as I'd hoped for.

Both of these plants were trained from day 1 of veg. I basically ran the whole main stem horizontally, as I did with other runs, and let the shoots come up to the screen and then stretch to allow more nodes to get light. On this run I didn't do any 'hard' bending and didn't do any super cropping.

My screen is 14" from the floor and about 9" above the soil. My light is about 13-14" above the highest shoots of the plants. I was surprised I was able to keep it so low, but I haven't had any issues with anything getting burnt, so I'm going to try to stay around that height the entire grow.

Here is some general info on my current grow.

Lighting: I'm running a 400 Watt Dimmable HPS, currently set at 300 Watts to help keep the temps down, staying in the 82-85 degree range when lights are on. Lights out temps drop to 70-72 degrees. I should be able to run it at 400 Watts from September/October until about April/May, so I'm looking forward to making that change.

Soil: Changed to a different potting mix that doesn't have fertilizer pre-mixed in.

80-90% Sphagnum
Perlite
Limestone
Wetting agent

Pots: 2.5 gallon pots, mostly to keep the plants lower. My next run I'm going to be bumping up my pot size to 4.5-5 gallons, they have a lower profile than 5 gallon buckets so it shouldn't constrict my lights to much. I try to make sure I have plenty of room to go up with my lights if need be.

Nutes: Was using Iguana Juice mixed with Pure Blend Pro for vegging and FloraNova Bloom plus BloomBastic for flowering.

Currently using the General Hydroponics FloraNova line Following their Simple Dosing schedule. I've seen a dramatic change for the better since switching nutes in both veg and flowering.

FloraNova Grow 7-4-10
FloraNova Bloom 4-8-7
RapidStart 1-0.5-1
Liquid KoolBloom 0-10-10
Floralicious Plus 2-0.8-0.02

Water: I started pHing to 6.0, but have since dropped down to 5.9 as my nutes pH right about there without making adjustments.

Ventilation: 190 CFM inline fan for exhaust. I have most of my lower vents open in my tent to help pull cool air in, but had to supplement with a box fan blowing in to help keep temps down. I've also got a small, 7", fan inside the tent blowing up through the canopy.

Again, thanks for all the tips and suggestions. I'm really trying to find the best combination of nutes, lighting and grow method to max my yield as much as possible. Anything else you can suggest will be hugely appreciated.

I'll post an updated pic tonight after lights go out.

Peace,
snakemanOG

Slightly overhead:

Under the screen:

Really cleaned up under the screen today. It doesn't show on the JH x PB as much because I tied a few branches out and down to get more bud sites light.

I also took some sun leaves off that were blocking bud sites. It doesn't really show in the pics, but on the GG#4 almost every square on that side of the screen has a good size top or node in it. Can't wait to see how it goes.

Took more sun leaves today. I also tied a few of the main stems on the GG#4 out and down to try to get it to stretch a bit more. I'm going to hold off taking any more low stuff off until late next week. They both had a lot taken off this week and could use a few days to fully recover.

July 11, day 14 flowering;

Slightly overhead:

Didn't take anything off either of them today. I'll clean them both up again later this coming week. On the GG#4 I'll be taking off anything that didn't make it to the screen and any sun leaves that are shading bud sites. She seems to be stretching more than the JHxPB. The ones I tied out and down on her stretched and filled more holes in the screen.

On the JHxPB I'll probably just focus on sun leaves. I plan to flower the GG#4 for 8-10 weeks, and the JHxPB I'm going to let go for 11-13 weeks. I'll play it by ear on that one how much I take off below the screen. There is a lot in the screen from her now. I really wish I could get the stuff up front to stretch a little more to fill more holes in the screen. The ones I tied out and down on her seem to just bend straight up, and don't stretch out like the GG#4 is.

Tonight they just got water. I've been going with feeding 3 days and then just water the 4th day. Going a little lighter on the JHxPB. She gets 1.5 quarts a day and the other is taking 2 quarts a day.

So far the SCrOG expirement seems to be going well. I think the bigger light and the new nutes are definitely making a big difference.

If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to send them my way. I'm always looking to learn more. The day you stop learning is the day you die!

Looking great snakeman , like the Scrog setup

Thanks, I'm pretty happy with both of them so far. I'm really hoping to see an increase in my yield this run with all the changes I made.

I think I'm going to continue using the SCrOG method going forward. It seems like it will allow me to take advantage of every square inch of my tent floor space. If anyone has tips on good strains to use with the screen I would really appreciate it.

The GG#4 has filled up just about every single hole in the screen on it's half of the tent. The JHxPB is slowly filling it's side in also. It hasn't stretched as far to the front of the tent as the GG, but she's getting there.

Took a few sun leaves off the JHxPB, but that was it. Also shifted some shoots to fill the screen better.
