Revival of the Ultimate Sativa Thread

i've seen root constriction definitely affect some of my landrace grows. it did seem to hasten onset of the flowering cycle in some strains but not all landrace strains i've run. the zamal pheno out of zamaldelica starts to auto flower just as soon as it hits vegetative stage. this is before it even has much of a root ball to speak of.
one way to grow long flowering landrace sativas outdoors in a short flowering season area is to take the female thru flowering cycle and then reveg. some clones taken from a mom that has fully flowered out and then revegged are much faster finishing.
^^ the png dominate nanan bouclou is supposed to finish much later but as you can see, clones taken off her after revegged are very far along in late august. i put 3 clones of moma png dom nb outside at very different transplanting times;(5/7, 5/24, 6/8). all are coming in finished september. it seems some strains have a hard time going back into early veg stage after being flowered out. i think this is a strain thang; not all strains react the same. the haitians taken at the same time are a good month, month and a half back flowering wise. both finished about the same time when run indoors from seed.
nanan bouclou is looking to be a top performer bag appeal wise outdoors. pump up the magnification (hold down control and hit + a few times until you get to 200-250 % magnification for a really good look). indoor runs of nb smoked top notch, first class.

I'm wondering if a full flower is necessary, or if a few weeks in flower is enough to get this effect once re-vegged and flowered?

I keep all mothers @12/5/2/5,
despite Zamaldelica #4, it looks like they veg somewhat normal.
#4 showed strong signs of flowering shortly after I placed it outside.
#4,5,6 all stay in small pots with very loamy, hard soil
#4 again:
its very cold this year and almost no sunshine, much rain
night lows are between 8-11°C right now, Zamal crosses seem to be very resistant for a tropical sativa
I have not done it scientific enough to say what really (semi)autoflowers, with #4 im pretty sure. hope i can keep that mom somehow.

Hello, here's a little update of MuayThai in my guerrilla grow.
Rain just finished, got some nice sunlight today after a very long period. She's doing great in the worst summer ever.
Smelling like mint and spices, full of delicate sticky buds.
She's my very favorite so far.

Well said Mustafunk! These tropical sativas have been going extinct and some lost, because they dont hold commercial value. That is sad to me. Once ppl actually take the time to grow these ancient sativas out and experience all they have to offer, only then can they understand how PRACTICAL and BENEFICIAL these varieties truly are. There is nothing like a pure sativa, and they are getting very far and few. Very hard to obtain. I am a sativa lover myself, and I will continue hard to preserve these beauties, and spread the seed. That lambsbread is gorgeous btw

There is nothing like a pure sativa, and they are getting very far and few. Very hard to obtain. I am a sativa lover myself, and I will continue hard to preserve these beauties, and spread the seed. Imho its more like:
These tropical sativas have been going extinct and some lost, because most don't know how to grow sativas to become commercial valuable.
for an example lets say there are reasons some guys prefer an old haze dominant Nl5/HZ cut, that goes to 12 weeks, over a 8-9 week commercial indica hybrid.
the NL5/HZ is flowered from start on 10,5/13,5 from rooted clone in a medium high density setup. (~100 plant a 600w a 2,25 m²). no veg. 12 weeks a 10,5 light hours/day.finish.
the indica dominant hybrid that finishes in 8 weeks, requires a vegetative period of 2-3 weeks to even be able to compete in plant mass against the sativa dominant one. plant mass is yield later.
It will usually suffer yield when flowered below 12 light hours(see some cheese grows that pump uperlegs with 13/11, on/off).
so it requires a minimum of 2 weeks vegetative @ ~16/8 and following minimum of 8 weeks 12/12.
in the end, the Nl5/HZ will always outyield the indi dom hybrid by far while having almost the same total time and grow costs.
those that know, know. high plantcount is no fun but works.
