Hello Bushman I would like to know your experience with Ciskei. And how did your compare to what I had?

Herbaria's Bushman's Ciskei from circa 2007 was the most compact sativa I've grown to date, you really had to veg it to get any yield. And they were ripe for picking at 50-55 days every time.

Now the new Ciskei I tried stretched like a bastard from the start and took forever to finish. I'm not sure I like what they did to this strain, if it's the same strain at all.

Thank you or info That's what I found with seed I just had this past season, I am thinking of adding the seed buds I have set aside to my wood stove. Sorry you lost your original stock.

Congrats on a beautiful harvest there VM.Those buds look fantastic! How do they smoke?

Hello JACKBAYBEH!
And Thank you!
This strain Is very smoothly delicious on the inhale with a old world hashy pine flavor upon the inhale. She is very lung expansive, but in no way harsh, with a bit of hash and a distinct pepper on the tongue upon the exhale but in a really good way. The High is immediate Like some one pushing there finger right into your third eye. She is powerful you will want to get out and do things but you just might forget what the hell you were doing. you'll want to engage in conversation but you'll probably forget what you were talking about. This in some can lead to a fit of laughter.

@Vermontman your Oaxacan landrace is looking great! Have you ever got any cedar, frankincense, or slight berry like smell from your Oaxacan landrace? Also has it in the past had any red tips? I ask these questions on behalf of all those Dj Short Highland Oaxaca Gold fans. For I am one of them.

Thank you Kush!
No I can't say cedar, more balsam like Christmas tree farm or pine/lemon, just barely lemon. and not fruity, the sweetest smell is in early flower and I guess that would be described as floral? Sometime I smoke her and it reminds red lebanese hash. from way back. This Line of Oaxacan is like a wonderful dry wine, like maybe a great Australian Merlot? Never to sweet.
Growing her for so many years the nuances have changed, one year she almost had a flavor of Thai stick and this might sound crazy but cured bud almost had a salami like fragrance. I KNOW! but really, That one year she was tagged by a couple good frosts I believe that influenced her Bouquet, taste and high.
Don't know if that help answer any of your Query?
But am really glowing right now.

@Vermontman thank you so much brother great descriptions of the smells, I would be eagerly waiting for the next pics of your 1979 Oaxacan landrace. Also about the color, what other color have you gotten from this strain of cannabis? And last question for now, will you be crossing this Oaxacan with any of Dj Shorts strains like Flo, F13, or Blueberry? I bet this would put you under a even brighter spot light from Dj Short or Jd Short and their fans.

Hey Kush! No I won't cross her, I to keep her as pure as possible. You asked for color The Gold bud was one I forgot in a small jar for two years. Next were the colors I tried to run keeping in the gold color. It was just a few years ago I focused on the purple. just goes to how you how amiable our friend cannabis can be.

Hey vermontman, do the buds you grow today differ in effect than the original stuff? Or look different?

You gold bud seems to confirm my idea that most of the 'gold' strains of old were just regular green buds left to dry in the sun.

HHHMNNNN great question! The buds seem to grow very similar than they did, but definitely I believe the cure was key though some genetics would never shine so. The most profound thing is the high still is very much old school in the most profoundly great way. I read how todays strains have BLhA BLhA BLHA More THC BUT It's not all about THC and getting high. I would put this Oaxacan up against ANY Modern day Hybrid for simplicity and quality of the high in the most basic terms any day, And the purity of the experience. Thank you for asking.

@Vermontman it's a good thing your keeping your Oaxacan strain pure. Have you ever grown your Oaxacan strain out in a large number, to select for desirable phenotypes?

Almost anything I've had sitting in jars for long enough (1~1.5yr+) get that way eventually it seems unless it is frozen/kept cold.
