I like killing Flys

Its on Netflix, its a documentary about a guy who runs a diner in NYC. This dude cooks like 35 menu items in this little closet of a kitchen, and is a very strange character. If you like movies about cooking and real life this is a sure fire hit.

any stanley kubrick film imo.. only a very small percent of people understand and can decipher what he is saying in films like the shining or 2001 a space odyssey..

and the usual suspects..

Oh! If you're into justice-seeking and questioning kind of movies..

12 Angry Men -- A classic, and both versions are very good, IMO.
A Reasonable Man -- South African flick, IIRC, sometimes a bit cheesy in the dialog department, but the concept and acting are good enough to make my recommended list.
A Patch of Blue -- Another oldie, but goodie.

I agree, Kubrik all the way. But let's not get completely enveloped by the Shining (the best film adaptation of Stephen King ever IMO) or 2001 (great as well) and forget my favorite droogie movie of all time...'A Clockwork Orange'.

Where Anthony Burgess writes a very damning novel and Kubrick somehow transcribes it into a slightly less, but still damning film.

A choice removed through physical and mental anguish makes not a man. I think Kubrick explored all of it in these films.

I just laid out 45 smackers to get the special extended version of The Lord of the Rings trilogy. 15 discs it says. Man, I am going to down a fat fucking wad of shrooms and go at it like a chainsaw on a pine tree.

I'm really not what most would call a movie buff. I hardly ever watch movies these days. I do have a few that I will watch when I'm in the mood though. Ever since I was 18, I just lost interest in movies, but I do like a lot of them that I have seen, usually comedy.

Here...might not be rated good on metacritic, but for a stoner, they'll do :)

The Hobbit: an Unexpected Journey
The Crow
Half Baked
Pink Floyd The Wall
Willow
The Goonies

I'm trying to think of one movie in particular that you all would really dig. I will find it here...It's called Dark City. It came out in 1998 (shout out to class of 98', :) ) My summary of it is along the lines of, well, what makes us human...they try to find out what makes humans 'human'. It's really cool, and kind of on the dark side too. It makes you think about what makes you tick and puts you in a philosophizing mood.
