Real Skunk Wanted

I am still working with about 100, 1980s Southern California, well selected bag seed. This is the source of the aforementioned 1983, and 1984 cultivars being bred. I find it interesting that the true Skunk devotees are also Sativa purists as well. Perhaps most interesting is the decades old Sinaloan Highland seed my friend got to germinate after working with 100+. Out of 200 of the old bagseed, only the 1983 and 1984 have lived to maturity. These old seeds are a royal pain in the ass, full of frustration, but they will help "unbottleneck" the cannabis gene pool a bit perhaps.

has anyone looked into underground originals seeds? in the uk skunk is still one of the favoured vars and UGORG have worked it in a few lines cheese, blues etc

Interesting MD84. The UGORG sounds like some stuff my friend grew in 89 from a $35 Neville "mystery bag" we ordered in the way the high is described.

cheese itself is a pretty strong var. very much a couchlock effect to it. and has also been crossed to another skunky var which is blues. i'm going to dig through some of their strains myself soon as i have pretty much all the catologue. i did their smellyberry which was pretty much made by oldtimer and this was a lovely skunky/berry lady with a very pleasant taste. as cheese is an old cut from the exodus crew which i believe came from sk1 and not a cross as someone mentioned. there should be some nice phenos to be found. certainly stinky covered in trichs and with nice potency.

Neither did I, but my buddy is a hoarder. And what he did keep were far from everything in his years of smoking. Rather, when he found something above the norm with seeds, that's what he kept. Really, by about 1993, he was getting sinsemilla, so these are like 1980 to 1993 select seed from higher end bud, not shwag seed.

Hey Corky: MedMan seeds out of Hemp Depot claims to have RKS seeds, and I am thinking about it. The genetics listed seem about right, but they are indoor. I think Hemp Depot is Canadian in BC. Has anyone used them?

No experience with MedMan. I’ve also looked at and considered that offering from him... heard and read questionable things about him though... I'd probably give JOTI's BC Northern Skunk a shot first... it doesn't make an outright claim to be RKS, but supposed to be a skunky stinker!

HD is solid. Many orders, no problems. They’re to the east.

Every one please stay away from Canadian hemp co they are not the above mentioned seed comp but wouldn't want any one getting them mixed up , canadian hemp co sell rip off seeds they have my pinequeen for sale at $197.00 I have never sold them seeds or have them permission to or use my pics , I'm sure many other members will have been hacked by these scum bags

The Med-man RKS IMHO was a bomb. Buyer beware. I'd go with the JOTI myself, I have thoght of this one too...Offerings by Cannacopia, Chimera, or Reeferman are also more advisable

Med Man RKS was full of herms, most of the plants were either junk or nothing like RKS. I did have one nice garlicy type weird smelling stinky plant that was iced out with resin, nice bud but this one hermed on me every time I tried to grow it. It was nice but but yield was very low.

Based on what I'm seeing with the Fester's IBL, sounds like the same type of low yielding plant as the Med Man RKS. I don't know about herms here (still early in flowering) but I'm guessing the longevity has allowed that to be selected against, or I'd certainly hope so.

Regardless, I believe if anyone is going to be lucky enough to stumble onto the near original terpene profile, the rest of the trait profile is going to need multiple generations of work before one has any semblance of an overall winner like the original.

Yoda Cheese (Yoda OG x Exodus Cheese), as close as I have been in a long time. Closer than Chems I'd have to say. Is this "it"? Not exactly, but it's closer than Cheese or any OG as a stand alone. Flips that thought around real quick and asks "if I were a sophomore today in 1984, and I scored a satchel of this, what would I call it?" Based on our limited base of description back then, I think this would have been called Skunk. Now, I had other non skunk Indicas back then, and we called those "Indica Bud" or we would throw the Afghan moniker on it. Worth a try friends, worth a try. Now, where is my lighter?

Fboy, As to the seeds or cut, I can't see those available anywhere either. I bought the flower at a North Cal dispensers yesterday. Some of the skunkiest flower I have had since the 90'a, very good to excellent quality.

This is my skunks ass clone, it has a penetrating skunk stink, today I took an 1/8 with me, 3 plastic bags and a tupper ware and I could still smell it.

This plant is the skunkiest plant I have come across. It has an absolutely shit yield, but it makes up for it with a head slamming stone.

what about Sensi's "Super Skunk". I haven't seen anything really skunky since early 2000's myself. Probably because it smelled so strong nothing would cover the penetrating odor, unless it was in a freezer (only way I've found to keep it hidden)...lol. Definately one of the most potent highs. That's most likely the reason it isn't popular anymore. Double, triple bagged, single bud in your corner watch pocket would still raise eyebrows from across the room.
