The airhose is going to be "looped" around the bottom of the tray. But instead of the way you have it (lengthwise), it's going to be facing towards the right side of that picture (towards the white drain)...thread through the holes in the top front of the unit (not the side). It's held in place by two suction cups that should be on the floor of the unit holding the hose down as deep as it can be in it. The sides are for the power cord to the pump to come out (either one is cool, but I use the side with only 1 hole). Remember I told you that I had some slight leakage from the unit...it was where you have your airhose thread through in that picture. I just stuffed those holes with extra neoprene from the cap cutouts. The thing that you are having trouble identifying I believe (it's been awhile) gets screwed into the top of the pump and is the interface between the pump and the water dispersal unit (the thing that sprays and looks like a two squares put together with holes in the top). You'll want to make sure you have that in place with the doo-hickey that you were trying to identify.....and then put those red thing-a-ma-bobs screwed into the top of the water dispersal unit. The really important thing is that when you screw them in...they all face the same way.....not towards each other.....I mean literally turned the same way.

That's the outside of my unit with the clam-shell top down. You can see the air-hose popping out.
That's the neoprene cuttings I stuffed in the "extra two holes" on the side.
Staring down into the unit with ony the airhose on.
Another picture looking down into the unit. You can see the filter underneath the water dispersal unit.....and if you look closely enough through the bubbling water you can see one suction cup on the floor of the entire unit (lower right hand corner).
Some air-hose action coming up from the side again.
Yet another pic so you can see how it's all laid out.
And another....

Had to do this quick because the unit is pumping away on my baby gals. Couldn't turn it off for too long.....the best time to take pictures is when I'm cleaning it...so you can see how all the parts fit together. I think ChubbyNuggs has some good insight into this also, so hopefully between the 3 of us, we can get it rolling.

Whats up,nice new toy.Good luck with it.Hopefully you will have more clones than you need.It makes life easier.I have allways been lucky(knock on wood).I just put them in dirt and they grow. These were extra, left in a cup of water, never changed, and they grew.

How does that thing work? The stems hang down in the water that is airaeted? They say technology is your friend, but I'm scared of that new fangled stuff. :joint:When are you going to be putting something in that new room of yours?

I am sure there are many ways to set the hoses. This is how the actual manual said to install the hoses for the 60 site.
Air pump hoses go through the long side of the ez. On either side as long as it is the long side.

Suction down the air hose around the water pump

water pump plug goes out of either shorter side.

I am pretty sure though as long as you got the air pumping in there and the water pump pushes the water it will work like a charm.
This should of been the first pic

Looks like it's all coming around nicely. Yeah, I can see you looped the air hose around correctly. The power cord can go through either side. I personally choose the side with the 1 hole rather than the 2 holes (we're talking about the short sides). I plug up the two extra holes on the short side that I'm not using for the power cord because in spite of the fact you won't get HUGE amounts of water coming out....when the unit is on....it's pretty high powered spray.....and droplets can come out. So the excess neoprene works well to fix that. The long sides of the unit both have two holes....one side is used for the air hose. When the clamshell comes down it should make a rather seamless and relatively water tight lid. For whatever reason, the plastic molding around mine might have warped...that's why I got slight leaking.....hence the neoprene.
Everything is looking good. I'm so psyched everything got to you in good form and order. By the way, I don't see your filter attached to the pump.....don't forget it.Make sure you put your filter on....it stops all the particulate matter (roots) from getting sucked into your pump. My cover is looking a bit schwaggy...I think I might have to order a new filter cover from the guys at EZ.

No filter? It's that grey foamy looking tube-thing in the second picture ChubbyNugs posted.
Take a close look around, if for whatever reason it's not there we need to get EZ cloner on the phone or the distributor. It'll slide right over the end of the tube that is on the bottom of the filter like a condom. You can't see it in mine really because it's submerged under water. Chubby has a better picture.

Ooooooooooooooh. You DO have some kind of "new-fangled" pump. That might explain why you have some extra do-hickey I didn't recognize. That pump doesn't really look alot like either Chubby's or mine. Hmmmmmmmm. We'll you're charting new territory my friend. Just in case, I put a call into EZ Clone myself a few minutes ago. Since they're in CA and 6 hours ahead, they weren't in but I left a message. I want to get a new pump filter for myself anyway.....mine looks like it was pulled out of someone's ass. If you have directions on how to pull apart the filter and clean it, and it doesn't indicate that you need something like Chubby and I are talking about...I'd go forward. The worst possible case scenario is that it's still under warranty...so if any craziness ensues...we can contact the right peeps to rectify it. I told you that my friend's pump burned out....and it was still under warranty so they sent him another. The EZ Cloner people are good like that. I'm getting goosebumps....and living vicariously through your pump!

I'm thinking that piece should attach to the pump somehow. The way you took a picture of the pump has the suction cup feet at the bottom....and the interface at the top? It's hard to tell because it's a new type of pump.....and I can't see all the angles. If WORST comes to WORST...then I'd give the EZ Cloner peeps a jingle tomorrow and ask their tech. support gals and guys about it. You can't call the toll free number listed...you'll have to use the direct number they list under it on their website. I tried to call the toll free and it said it couldn't be reached from my area or some such thing.....the direct went right through....but obviously it's like 10 or 11 o'clock in CA.....doubted anyone would answer.
A GREAT idea would be to send that last picture you took in an email to their tech support email address......they mention the specific address when you call their direct number as an option. It's something like [email protected] techsupport@.....
You could embed that picture and send it off to them. Let them know you have 2 friends that bought this thing and they have different pumps....so they weren't sure about the extra piece either.
I can say 1 thing: it's threaded like a screw on both ends.....it looks like it has to screw into that pump somewhere....but it may be a remnant/extraneous piece from their old pumps.....
ChubbyNugs: have any input on that?
In either event.......I know that puppy will do the job once it's operational. I did have the same lame time with the instructions.

well i tried to screw it into everything that had a hole, even the drain:rasta:
has to be an extra piece

but it may be a remnant/extraneous piece from their old pumps.....
thats my opinion as well, i wonder if a filter could be fashioned over the end ?
that material is easy to find anywhere
ah i'll wait and see i am sure it will be just fine as is
hey accessndx Thank You ! :friends:

Here's my 2 cents; if you can couple the pump with the rectangular water dispersal unit......place it in the bottom of the EZ Cloner chamber...fill with water to cover the pump....close the lid.....turn it on....and water is blasting the top of the lid from the inside....you're golden. (don't forget to put in the neoprene caps or you'll get a face full of water).
I would call EZ Cloner to ask those tech. questions tomorrow just in case you're concerned.
The only other thing I can think of for that "extraneous" piece is that it's an "extender" for the coupling piece that connects the pump to the water distributer.

Can you show us a picture of where the water intake is on your pump? In my case, you already know the intake is that foam looking thing.....
The very top of the pump as you can see is uncoupled from the distributor in this picture....but it screws right on that little periscope thingy you see at the top. Then my pump sits right in the bottom of the Cloner in the middle of the square footprint that's there.

see post 851, thats the intake
i already tried to screw that peice on the outgoing side 3-7 diff ways and times, it just is not a fit anywhere

my pump looks exactly like yours, except where your filter sticks out, mine is flat
ah here are the images again, if you want a more pix i'll get them up A.S.A.P
