Brother Bear - Cool, cool, very glad to have a brother along for the ride. And thanks again for the detailed directions on them other things

stealthScrog - Welcome, enjoy the show!!

MASHUP - I sure hope there'll be some weight getting pumped out of here. I've been busting my ass harder than I thought I'd have to. And I STILL feel behind!!!

cellardweller - Fast? Man I dunno really. I feel like I've been living in this damn shop, man. I just want it to end! Walking on concrete for 12-14 straight hours every single day is killing me.

Finklsteinshtkd - Haha, I thought I would be, but I really barely even smelled it. Pretty sure I didn't get fucked up from it. I didn't use a ton of the adhesive, so maybe that's why.

retard2 - :joint:

Equilibrium - Hey, thanks. I hope the white plastic is worth all the trouble it's been. I'm used to just painting the walls flat white and I'm ready to go. I should be getting about 60 ladies in there tomorrow. We'll see how beat I am by the end of the day.

moses224 - Hey man, thanks for coming by. Since I was working by myself that day, I used the adhesive only on the corner where I started hanging the plastic, to hold it to the ceiling and get me started. Then I stapled 1 foot sections of 1.5" wide slats to the ceiling and floor along the whole length of the room.

~deadwood~ - Thank you. Today I got some lights and ductwork hung and it's really starting to look like a grow room!

ReeferRon - Hey dude, thanks for the compliments. I have to admit though, the carpentry skills are certainly not mine. They are my friend's, and I owe him the world for all the help he's given me. I told him what size rooms I wanted, he planned and ordered and cut everything. He just told me where to drive the nails.

whiskeytango420 - Thank you thank you! I have to admit, I haven't made it to your grow yet, but I will soon, just as soon as I get all caught up. Yeah, shit, there's not going to be any quick tear down with mine. Demo alone will probably take a couple days and REALLY big dumpster. Thanks for dropping by F.U.C.K.E.R.!!

25k BTU Frigidaire. 240v. Heavy and lifted above our heads. But not as heavy as the ceiling :joint:

My buddy came over and helped with the plastic on the ceiling. NO WAY I was gonna be able to do that by myself.

That was yesterday's work.

Yeah, I even work Saturdays...

Yeah, I even work Saturdays...

I wanted to be completed everything (plants included) by today. I don't know what kind of fantasy world I thought I was living in. But here's what I got done today:
picture.php

This is where air will be pulled from to cool the lights.

picture.php

Goes in here. It's not held on by the duct tape, the tape's there to cover any lightleaks.

To here.

A 20k BTU mini-split is going to run me more than 5 times the cost of a window unit, and it's been kinda painful spending all the money I've already spent.

Exactly bro. If it removes 20,000 BTU's, it removes about 20,000 BTU's. A British Thermal Unit. One BTU is the amount of heat it takes to raise the temperature of one pound of water one degree at a constant pressure of one atmosphere. Insane if you ask me. But it can give you an idea of about how much heat that is...

So for our (your) application we need some other info:

One watt produces about 3.4 BTU per hour. (3.413 exactly)

6K watts running for 12 hours everyday.

That adds 20,478 BTU/h.

That would be cutting it close, but, your lights are aircooled.

I see no issue with your setup from a HVAC standpoint. It's okay if the condensor side of those AC's get hot and the air around them gets warmer. It will simulate a hot day and that will cause the evaporator coil to act much more effeciently as a dehumidifier. This is true to a point depending on the heat load of the space being cooled. Which will be quite a bit. That is the only thing to watch. And if you are cooling your lights with outside air (which I suspect is the case) you may only have a slight issue on really hot days.

Approx. what will the ambient temperature of the intake for cooling the lights be?

Just re-reading all your info. It's a 25,000 BTU unit!? As long as you got one of those for each 6K, you're golden home-slice. You having it all come on at once? Or flopping the rooms?

What/how do you plan on cooling the veg? 18/6 or 24?

Hope I've helped and not made things worse!

And if the answers to my questions are already posted I apologize. I am stoned and lazy right now...

One last "tidbit" you might like to know...

One "ton" of cooling is the amount of energy needed to melt a ton of ice in 24 hours. About 12,000 BTU's. Or about 3.5 KW. (Don't ask me where they came up with this shit, but I swear it's true. I just fix the damn things!) Your 25,000 BTU window unit is what is more commonly reffered to as a "two ton" condenser.

P.S. Keep the fan-speeds on them AC's on LOW at all times. This will draw your warm/hot, humid air across very cold, almost freezing coils SLOWLY. Allowing more moisture to condensate on that cold coil, thus removing it from your area. Let your other fans blow the cool air and circulate it. Your instincts will tell you to leave em on high, but I assure there is a HUGE difference. Which reminds me. You get condensate pumps for them babies??? You gonna need em. :)
