Lapides - I am glad that your problems are now over. VOC's are something that most people do not know about, so I am glad you are on top of things. Also, as I am a carpenter and electrician, I have to say good build man. A couple of things I may have done differently is use fire rated plywood where your boxes get wired up on the wall. Other than that, great grow room.

Thanks for the reply Lapides..

another question about your 8inch fan and scrubber...

do you have the air blowing into the scrubber or pulling from scrubber and out the fan?

i own a 8inch 747 cfm fan and one of those big heavy ass 8inch scrubbers as well and I found that it seems to work better when you pull the air through the scrubber and out the can fan. it may cause a bit more of a stir-up of air in the room but for some reason I think it works better... am I nuts, or does it not even matter?

Great update Lapides!.sux about the co2..Bud trimmer looks nice.jelous
Yeah, it was my first attempt at using co2, I thought it would be much easier. But now that my feet are wet, I think I got it on lock.

I know how you feel Lap. My plants were lookin pretty bad lately too. Really didnt want to take any pics. The heat was getting the best of me. The rest of the summer is gonna be strictly takin care of mums and upgrading the room .

Good Luck wit the next run

MARLO

Thanks a lot Marlo. Heat management, IMO, is one of the most difficult aspects to control, especially when you start incorporating more lights. Unfortuantely, it's also a big fucker-upper for plants. Like bigscoot said, just keep on keepin on brother!

OUCH. Tough break, Lap. I did that same exact shit a few months back before I got my controller. I've heard the occasional bad thing about those Hydrofarm solenoids, now it's been verified. I've had a CAP for almost a year and have had 0 problems with it freezing up on me.

Since finding out that no matter how good you are at math, you're going to overdose the CO2, I've been trying to warn people against it.

CO2 as whole has been a pain in my ass. Even my Sentinel CPPM-1 stopped working on me recently. (with one cycle on it, thanks Sentinel.)

Can't wait to see round 2!

UGH, you're telling me. When I started this project, I thought co2 would be an AMAZING (let alone essential, since the room's sealed) addition to my grow. But it had been the bane of my existence for a good 5 weeks until I got it right. So far, keeping the flowmeter just slightly open, on for 15 minutes, off for 15 minutes, is keeping my ppm between 800-1100. A little more tweaking and I should have it just where I want it.

Lapides some people prefer 1800-2000PPM co2 its not toxic to your plants man,the thing is to keep the fluctuation in check,no more than a 200 PPM fluctuation at high PPM's for the full 12 hours.I've had good luck with my cap though it stuck on me once

Thank bro, I'll keep that in mind. In the meantime, I'll gradually work my levels up and see what they like.

bad ass room an grow lapides:respect:bro keep on keepin on peace

Will do!

Damn, good thinking. I only visit the grow once, maybe twice a day, and fire is a HUGE thing that weighs on my mind when I'm not there. Sounds like a great ounce of prevention to pay for peace of mind.

Hey, it's actually a 12inch fan on top. And I have the fan sucking air in through the filter and blowing it straight up. That's how I've always had em set up. It works well that way for co2 as well, since co2 is heavier than air and can have a tendency to just settle on the floor. The filter/fan keeps it all off the floor.

Nice grow.

Thanks homie, haven't seen you around much. Thanks for stopping through.

great update Lapi! those are two seriously impressive rooms, and they have given me a few ideas for whats downstairs. I don't think I would ever use a machine to trim though, I just have too much fun doing it by hand.

LOL, maybe you just haven't done it enough. After trimming probably over 500 pounds of pot in my lifetime, I've found that trimming is my LEAST favorite part about growing herb. And there's just no way one person can trim all that herb by himself and still get done everything that needs to get done.

Taking down and trimming 1-1000w light is easily an 8 hour day for one person.

I still trim my headstash by hand though, usually.

this is true, but I have trimmed a bit and fully enjoy the relaxation aspect of it. I might try a small hand held electric if I could find the right one..

I remember that feeling. But instead of relaxing me these days, all I can do is get all anxious and think about how it feels like I'll be trimming this pile of herb for the rest of my life and that it's just never, ever going to end.

I guess I could be having anxiety about worse things though.

These things are pretty much a godsend. I have a hose (turned on 24/7) hooked to their pressure reducer to their feeder lines to the sensor to the dripper. I've had them going for 4 days now and have barely had to touch them.

It took about an hour to setup and adjust each dripper. The next day I was hoping to not find seriously overwatered plants and a flooded floor. Thank goodness I didn't. I had to make an adjustment of no more than a couple millimeters on the dial for maybe 5 plants.

Since then it's been smooth sailing. Perfectly watered plants with zero effort. I'm getting more drippers and feeding lines for all my plants.

Here's the 12 I hooked up:

I took the pics with my phone, sorry if you think they suck.

u could find hundreds of happy volanters and all u have to do is smoke em up on a blunt...but then again its not a headstash so why take the time to do it when its just gone.

It's more of a "loose lips sink ships" kinda thing.

as the expression goes its hard to find good help nowadays....and yes i know i butchedred that word voulanter(sp?) again
  :laughing:LOL, strike two.

Here's a real quick tip bro : type the word the way you think it's spelled into google and press enter. 9 times outta 10 google will know what you mean and correct your spelling.

Also, the newest version of Mozilla Firefox web browser has automatic spell checking for everything you type.

For instance, you would have seen your typed word butchedred with a red underline under it. That would give you your first clue that something ain't right. Then just right click over the word, and it gives you a selection of properly spelled words from which to choose.

Gave me a good laugh though. Thanks. Please come back and try using one of them techniques to spell that "V" word that has been giving you so much trouble :D

Peace.

Alright, We're getting a bit off track here.

I'm gonna start getting that second room outfitted here in the next week or two. I'll probably start with insulation. I'm gonna have to use rigid insulation on two of the walls that are up against the main walls of the building.

I talk to you guys later.

Peace
