Also from everyone's experience, are there any guaranteed purple turning strains available to the public right now? I wanted to get some strains crossed with Deep Chunk, I'm guessing that strain turns almost black even in the right conditions.
Wow, the leaves on the first pic only remind me of one thing: Strips of Beef Jerky.. funky plant, looks to be killer...The name made me think bubblegum but i suppose it's some type of 'bubba'..
Paranormal one looks good too, they're like BrownPurple leaves/green buds... it is pretty..
SnagglePuss - get like 3-4 rolling papers and fold them up, then put it over the flash on your Camera. When you take pictures, you will have "perfect" light, not too much and not too little...just perfect... here's an example of what I mean...
too much light
'perfect' ..maybe not perfect, but a more accurate representation of color..
Pot is so tricky to get used to when you're learning to take pics of it.. I wish Overgrows "PictureFAQ" was still around, as it had very detailed plans/theories on taking pictures... I have about 6 bud shots of the bud I just posted as an example... in each picture I used a different amount of "pressure" on the rolling papers covering the flash, therefor giving several different amounts of light.. It's important, because as you can see in the pics above, they are the same exact bud, but different lights made them have completely different shades of green... not even like the same shade, just lighter or darker, but it completely changes the shade of it... The first pic is "Light Green/White" and the Second is "Gold/Medium Green"....
I think the tissue/rolling paper works good because it imitates the lighting at an actual photoshoot, where they have several lights surrounding the object being photographed... so the rolling papers kind of divert the light out of the sides of the paper and some through the paper, and I think it works extremely well.. I've stuck with it for years..
Anyways, your bud looks very good, I love that type of structure... can't wait to see it in more 'natural' light..
Sorry to go somewhat off-topic, but pictures are the 'Blood' of sites like Overgrow and ICMag, the knowledge, experience, and information you have at your fingertips is the 'Heart' of these sites.
Bad analogy? Well I don't care, photography is art, and if you're going to take pictures, take your time and do it right. I'm not bitching, just saying Pictures are key, and pictures colors are key, as you can take a black and white picture of a bud and put it next to the same photograph but in color and with too much flash, and they are pretty much equal in terms of 'Color accuracy'..
I think it's just practice with your camera that will produce the best results and maybe a polarizer filter if you can get one natural light is always good if you can get it at the right angle to shine at the buds. Try to find the most compementing shadows to make the buds look as real as you can see them because sometimes photographs flaten or bulge certain parts of the plant especially when taking macros. I always use a dark blue background and a light blue grow light.
Very special pics everyone looking sweet against the new sites looks, haven't been here for a while.
By the end of 2009 Im converting all but 1-2 plants of every grow to purplism. Lookin for the highest yielding bombest purple strains around, only real real crystally ones apply. Whats yalls top 5 purples???
