There used to be a strain offered here in Canada, from General G, thru Mark Emery in the early days of the catalogue, called Eastern Purple It was a tall Branchy Christmas tree Afgani very resistant to frost, mold and typical Canadian weather. About half the plants would turn purple in the fall even the stems and leaf petioles. The Stone was creeping knock-out with some psychedelic visuals when you closed your eyes.
In the F2 Generation I found the purple phenos to be unstable , either yeilding no high or a strange Couch-locking Paranoia"I'd flush everything if I could only get UP" So I used the green phenos for my future breeding. My personal fave which I dubbed "Spicey Mite"Has the purple stalks and purple male flowers but the buds stay green. General G produced some great outdoor strains for rugged climates but they all seem to have dissapeared. Does anyone out there have and left-over genetics?

Don't you just love those dark colours they look so unatural but the fact that they are natural makes them more beautiful some deep deep royal purples perfect to smoke in this time of the year. At least something to divert away from the troubles of the world Greece, Middle East / Hamas and jihad, Recession, Murders, all those crimes. We can be thankful for our comfort and luxury of our PCs. So if you grow purple spare a few buds for the people who have nothing ;)

By rule I am not a fan of "purple-turned" pot.

There have been THREE that really stand out in my mind as "worth-while". Two of the three, I only got to sample 1 and 2 hits of, as my best friends female cousin "cooched" a medicine bottle back from San Jose, Ca (on flight). The last was tried about a week ago, and actually ended up not being a "traditional purple"...I'll explain.

First though, I'll talk about the two San Jose strains... I can't say much, because again, I only got to sample 1 hit of one strain, and two of the other...

The first I tried was "Grand Daddy Purple". We separated about .3 or .4 of a gram, into "one-hitter" size balls, and took knife hits. My best friend(and his cousin) arranged things so I would have a large knife hit. I actually don't remember specifics about this high, but I do remember it having almost the same effects on me as alcohol. Not like being drunk, but I certainly felt A LOT more "comfortable" in the very "uncomfortable" place I was in: surrounded by college kids, who for the most part annoy the hell out of me.

The next morning we smoked the Purple Princess between my friend, his cousin, his cousins boyfriend and myself. This time I got two hits! Doesn't sound like a lot, and it isn't by any means, but it was enough to give me a very clean, buzzy, enjoyable high. His cousins boyfriend dropped some type of glass bottle in his living room (his cousin and her boyfriend "split" a duplex in a "college" neighborhood, in a "college town"). All I remember was everyone of us looking at each other and then just laughing. This was probably my favorite "chill", or "day-to-day" strain. I would seriously not mind having a constant supply of this smoke. It's exceptional! The high kind of reminds me of a extremely clear blueberry high. It's way more potent than blueberry, but the effects seemed to be the same, again the purple princess was exceptionally stronger than any blueberry I've yet to sample.

It however is not my favorite strain that I have tried from California. That "title" belongs to an apparently rare pheno of Sensi Star my friend brought back from the same sources in San Jose. I'd love to talk about this one, as I got to smoke quite a bit of it so my opinion is more "matured" with this strain, it just wasnt purple :p I will however say, that if you ever smoke any Sensi Star, and have hallucinations, or listen to music, and it's like listening to some new amazing music even though you have heard the same music a thousand times, then you may just have yourself a sample of this pheno. It is without a shred of doubt, the strongest marijuana I have smoked. I have literally been listening to the band Tool for over a decade, on LSD, mushrooms, MDMA or what have you. Listening to them on this batch of SensiStar was like... Listening on mushrooms, to an amazing band I'd never heard before.

Finally, "Purple Diesel", which actually ended up less purple and more Blue(berry :p).
Unknown if this was SourDiesel or NYCDiesel, but it was 100% for sure diesel and blueberry. Extremely tasty strain, very very very good structure, taste, smell, great clean buzzy indica dominant strain. Actually the only blueberry that I have seen turn purple. Most examples I have ever seen in person, turn lavender...Even when crossed, both BBxHinduKush and BBxNL#2 had shades of lavender, the diesel had purple calyxes and leaf.

WOW Just fucking WOW, that it just WOW Teck Attack....:D
