SR71 Pk is not urkle or gdp. I grew em side by side more than a few times - same nutes same medium. There are some obvious differences that can't be ignored. Wouldn't be surprised if it was an S1 of urkle tho...
Nice plants man! Lovin the PK. I got one goin on 40 days and it aint turnin purple, got it from a club out here, temps might be to hot though... heres a pic of the flower, from clone strait to 12-12:
Nice work, drymouth. Been peepin yer threads for a while now. I'm a bay-dweller and Blue Sky patron as well, on my third run w/ Blue Sky ladies -- mostly PK and HSK. (Although I bought moms and cloned my own.)
I've generally had good luck with both strains. The previous two batches of PK purpled up in roughly 7 weeks, were almost black at day 60 harvest. But my latest crop is a puzzler, similar conundrum as GET MO... they're at day 58 and green as green can be. Same mom, same nutes (GH), same lights, pH, etc.
One crucial difference: Added Phosphoload in week 2.
As advertised, and as hoped for, the P-load definitely resulted in fatter buds quicker (trying to upload pics but having technical difficulties). They look like emerald-colored Christmas tree ornaments, and several branches are straining to support the weight. I'm wondering if you or Neptune or any of the other cognoscenti have had similar experiences. Did I inadvertently trade bud size for color? Should I still take them down at 60 days, or just wait em out?
Any input would be appreciated. And again, drymouth, consider me a fan.
ancientmariner - Thank you for the good vibes... If I were you, I'd wait it out the color could come out in the last week as I've seen before, maybe the p load had something to do with the coloring? I'm pretty interested myself in other peep's guesses... maybe there was a component in the make up of the P-load that didn't sit right with the Pk? and may have delayed it's color. Frome what I'm reading, color is also influenced by light intensity. So the closer you can get the better! I'd cut out the N, then give it a good flush. Post them pic's if you can1
GET MO - good name! get mo, Fauhsho! Nice purp my friend... The color will come to you. Field of dreams whisper voice: "if you feed it... it will turn..."
S4vvy - stiring... more like blending! that subject all ways creates contraversy on every forum board. Ride on for the good vibes i will be doing a smoke report here.
Ok… Purple Kush 56 day flower, dried for 7 days before testing. It’s actually not all the way dry feels like it could go for another day or two. The density of the bud seems to be holding its dry time longer then I expected.
Appearance: Dense purple nugget like buds varying in size
Smell: Musky kind of fake grape smell. Not fruity grape but more musky grape.
Smoke: Pretty thick, exhalation was smooth (not like the Hindu smooth)
Taste: Blunt (will be doing a pipe test when it’s really done!)
Not instant high like some stains. Took about 10- 20 minutes for me to be fully blasted.
im glad to come across this thread of purp conniseours haha. I just got gifted some "purp" here in nyc and was told it was purple kush, however im not totally shure, ive smoked pk a few diff times from a few diff dealers, and i deff described it as GRAPE SKUNK !, however this bud in looks and feel had a diff look than most Pk ive had, it was not the dense sticky dark purp i was used to it was dense and dry with dark and ligh purples. dont get me wrong very preety. when u smell the nug it has somewhat of a musty purfume smell to it, and when smoked you get a purfumey sharp grape taste(like grape dutch cigar). Heres a pic let me know what you guys think it may be.
WTF are these guys talking about, saying that's too indica to be Kush?! ALL Kush is indica!! If you have a purple sativa, that's not Kush, Purple Haze is sativa not Purple Kush. Kushes are from Afghanistan and Pakistan, and sativa's do not grow there.
Bigtimer7 - Thanks for the good vibes. This strain really hits me hard behind the eyes and has a deep indica sadative, kinda narotic still functional but not really... kind of feeling. My pk turned around 40 or so days organic grown feed with teas. I think the teas brought out the color alittle faster? So i would say, yeah it'll turn... I have yet to see one that didn't turn colors.
drymouth, not as sweet as your nug ! lol the high is deff melo and great daytime smoke,a verpy happy slight body/head high. Deff a great strain to mix with haze.

damn bro that looks heavy sweet fire u got som of the nicer lookin pics here .which cut of p.kush is that.
i neva grown neither the p.kush or purple erkel but ive smoked both.a purple erkel from cali n quite a few batches of p.kush from n.y. i must say that im surprised many believe they r the same cut. i would understand if u were given a mislabeled cut but wat about all of the other same name bud grown by others.in my experience they had few similarities in smoke wit many diff qualities especially in the high .
purple kush top 3 of my all time fav .smell= was exotic type, slight pine, fruity, stank.
taste= exotic ,slight grapey ,kushy, earthy notes,a bit fruity.smooth but thick n heavy wit expansion in lungs
high=mo fire, head n body ,narcotic ,dreamy, sleepy, stuck type, this was bangers , long lasting, som of the most potent shit i eva smoked.
purple erkel is one of my all time fav taste=smell=almost identical but i hav not smoked enough to judge both separate.exotic, anise, purfumey, grape, slight kushy mint, lavender, wit som earthy tones.
high=brain massage,major cerebral,euphoric,floating, happy,very relaxing,long lasting.
Thanks, bigherb. Just like drymouth, mine trace their lineage to Blue Sky (formerly SR71) coffee shop.
I cloned and vegged the ones in the photo from a Blue Sky mom. I've read much feedback, both positive and negative, about Blue Sky, but my personal experiences have been extremely positive -- no bugs, no mildew, 100% clone survival. And the final results look almost exactly like the photos advertised in the Skunkwerks/Blue Sky brochure. Are they "pure" Purple Kush? I prefer to leave that debate to others, while my patients and I savor the fruits of my labor. And bigherb, we are in 100% agreement with your description of the high -- "head n body, narcotic, dreamy, sleepy...this was bangers, long lasting, some of the most potent shit i eva smoked"
The two ladies in these particular pics were vegged for approx. 30 days in 4" rockwool blocks, then transplanted into 3-gal pots with bulk rockwool. Top-fed standard GH nutes, then dosed with Phosphoload a couple of weeks into bloom. The phospho dramatically increased bud size and density, but two previous batches from same mom with no Phosphoload fully matured and purpled in 56-60 days. At day 57, these big girls have not yet begun to purple (although leaf and stem have). I'm gonna bide my time until 70-72 days and pray for purple.
With profuse apologies to drymouth for piggybacking on his post, if anyone out there has similar experience with phospho-loading and can tell me what to expect, I'd appreciate your input.
