^^^ well, I just posted that I have grown both of them, one grow right after the next, and they are identical in every conceivable way. You're right, you have to have grown them both to know... and... I have. It seems they were named differently. This is common. It usually happens like this... someone gets clone X and is told NOT to share clone X. Fine, they don't share it as clone X, they name it clone Y and share it as that. This has happened many times, with many "proprietary" cuts over the years.

FYI, I got the Purple Urkle and the PK from different sources... both of which are very reputable sources.

I find that with Urkle/PK, it's not really the temps that effect color, it's light intensity. Ourdoor Urkle can turn damn near black in good sunlight. When I wanted a dark Urkle, I just moved them in the middle of the room, under the strongest light.

i'd love to see some 'real' PK pics that you so firmly stand by... since i guess it's so obvious to you this isn't....

Unfortunately I don't have any in flowering right now, but I can show the obvious difference in their structures. Mind you the PE I'm showing is actually GDP (grand daddy purple), but is almost identical in structure to PE (I've grown ALOT of PE). I prefer Granddaddy's high and the yield is slightly better (but still low). Granddaddy is Purple Eurkle x Big Bud

The Purple Kush is much more stretchy and leans on the Sativa Side of things. Grandaddy/Eurkle is very squat and obviously Indica. I also agree with CC about the light intensity bringing on purple in the Granddaddy/Eurkle. Purple Kush goes purple without the need of temp or light intensity.

Yes I know the SR-71 cut and their crappy clones. Sorry, but if I buy a couple hundred clones, all of them are rooted and come from healthy mothers; the opposite is true for pretty much any club I've ever gotten from. SR-71 PK isn't bad... mostly because its Purple Eurkle.

Sorry for the thread jack, but people want to contest, so they need to be taught.

the fact that sr-71/bluesky doesn't put enough effort into ensuring high quality, well rooted clones doesn't have any merit to the strains they offer...all you need is one. if you buy all your clones by the 100's instead of taking your own cuts, that's your issue.

Crazy Composer - Thanks for those tips on the purpleness... I seen so many different kinds of purpleness but what I like the most is when you could get it to turn dark deep purple... So light intensity huh? I'll keep that in mind on my next run coming soon by the way.

Thanks CC, I respect your opinion on most matters but this is simply a different cut of the Ultaviolet sisters which include: Urkle/Erkle, Granddaddy, and Purple Kush... and possibly others that were culled, or still around somewhere.

I have grown all 3 of them side by side and they are different cuts. They are all very similar looking, but indeed subtle differences that when put under close inspection reveal themselves. Leaf shape, serations, size. finished nugs all look the same again, but under a good nose one can easily pick them apart. Erkle is more fruity, like trix or fruit loops cereal(but still retains that "purple" smell), PK has that real dank GRAPE skunk flavor, and Granddaddy is somewhere between the Erkle and PK. I have been growing the bay purples for 2 years, I'm in the bay and live close to the heart of this scene.

Erkle is not taboo, nor are any of these cuts. they are all available and un-hoarded. Lots of us have beaten this horse to death, but here it is one more time.. lol.

what is more believable is that you did indeed recieve two cuts of Erkle, and that you have not recieved the PK, becuase claiming they are the same when you have grown "both" of them is erroneous. Anyone with a nose can tell these two cuts apart, it's grape skunk vs. fruity grapey sweet candy.

i agree with neptune.
i can def do a blind pepsi challenge with those 3 strains mentioned andalways pick them out with my nose. even from different growers using different nutes and methods. appearances WILL differ from 1 batch to the next and may have slight slight undertone changes from usage of lets say sweet or molasses,but no matter what the case they are very distinct/ unmistakable i have got to say. (professional stoner so you know i gotz to be right lol)j/k but seriously lets all lighten up and enjoy our fine friends grow.
your buds are looking quite nice. hope you get that darkness you are looking for. here is my latest purple endevour GDP 1 of 3 phenos.
