Amazing orfeas! :D

How did your Purple Haze x Malaw indoor grow finish ?
Wish you are already starting to enjoy her flowers

Thank you, dubi!

I regret to tell you that I am somewhat disappointed with the particular cross despite Terpene's eulogies.
First off, none of the three plants expressed any purple hues I was eager to see. Then comes this flowering/maturity time...at 16 wks, when the two of them came down, they were still pushing out new pistils and the trichs refused to turn to amber, do they ever do? the third one, depicted, was harvested after 18 wks with an amber here and there :)
I've already sampled the 16 wks ones and the high is way below its fame...I only hope it'll improve after a good old curing...
I'll let you know anyway!

Orfeas, hopefully she cures well for you. These heavily leaning OTH genes are very tricky indoors in order to get full effect. Here’s my current solo Purple Haze x Malawi.

picture.php

Looks fairly OTH leaning, but it’s got very nice and short internodes in veg. Leaves are a little wider like Malawi. I’m sure she will stretch out in flower. Plan to clone her and get her outdoors in early/mid summer.

Hi orfeas,

I'm sorry to hear it friend. And no worries, all the feedback is welcome.

Our straight 50 % Haze hybrids could take a few weeks longer to ripen than what it is stated in our official descriptions when they are flowered indoors from seed with more stable photoperiods. Purple Haze hybrids truly show their colors in the second half of flowering mainly outdoors with colder temps at the end of flowering, not so much indoors.

Since you were also disappointed with Zamaldelica standard, i'm starting to think that these extreme pure tropical sativas are maybe not your cup of tea after all, probably you prefer hybrids stronger punch, more balanced effects and stronger body effect.

Anyway, Haze dominant hybrids like this one need really a good cure to show off their full potential so i still have hopes that you like the outcome much more in 1-2 months with a bit more of curing, looking at your pics it's obvious that you really did a great job growing them so hopefully you will change your mind about it in a few weeks-months after a longer curing.

Glad to see you are trying Purple Haze x Malawi this year, Ur Humbl Nr8tor :)

Since you have good experience with Oldtimer's Purple Haze and with Purple Haze x Thai i hope this Purple Haze hybrid will be also of your taste.

After smoking a green haze x Thai 0.5g joint with two friends tonight, I say thank you dubi! As I begin trying to place certain clones into certain gardens, I think I’ve found a good location for the PHxM. About 1.5km from the ocean. Parallel 33. Should have lots of sun when no marine layer. Lots of ocean moisture as well. We will have a look at her resistance to PM as it can be an issue for my mates strawberries.

G'day dubi!

I must admit I ought to have been more explicit or waited for at least three months for the buds to cure and then have my say...

I never said I was disappointed, "somewhat disappointed" is not the same thing :) and the Zamaldelica I wasn't happy with, due to the complete lack of potency, was the extreme Thai leaning S1 I grew a couple of years ago... the ones I'd grown before that, 4-5 individuals, were all excellent smoke and the bubble hash I made was real potent, almost trippy... I'd definitely grow that batch again, were them beans still around... but I'm pretty much convinced you ain't got any about
Also, tropical sativas ARE my cup of tea but when bedtime is getting close I'd rather puff at something with the effects you mentioned... :)

However, in the end it all boils down to the right pheno and I haven't been that very lucky in that respect... though I was lucky enough to stumble across some real nice ZDL / PxM / BH phenos ...

Purple Haze Malawi does have a fair bit of variation which can lead to some plants running for what seems like forever. They'll be the more pleasant smelling ones (haze leaning). The malawi leaning ones (in my experience) are a bit more traditionally potent, but also smell a bit rotting wood, greasy, etc like pure malawi. Color is entirely temperature dependent and since most homes don't routinely hit below 12-13C at night, its gonna be a healthy, happy, green plant.

Hey, would you look at that, UrHumble resurfaced. :huggg:

PHxM: first month flowering

PHxM: first month flowering

Hey, all! I thought that I had posted when my PHxM was a bit younger, but I must've been enjoying my other harvests a little too much because I don't see any posts here

My PHxM has been under 13 on/11 off light since 1/19/20 and under 11/13 since 1/26. She has some big beautiful leaves, and since flowering has gotten underway, her canopy has become thick with flowers forming. She stretched much more quickly than I anticipated a few times so she got too near the light :bashhead: I don't think she is stretching any longer, but I am concerned about damage that proximity to the light has caused the main colas and will continue to cause them. I don't have the space to lay these branches out anymore, and I don't want to raise the light so high that penetration into the canopy is significantly lessened.

She had some slight nutrient issues early in the grow, but those seem to be resolved. She has some discoloration still, but it doesn't seem to be worsening. I've mostly just been guiding branches and adjusting the blumat carrot.

I have a clone of her, and this is a good learning experience. I'm excited to see her continued growth.

Here are some pictures from Day 56 Flower, 3/15/20.

This is the stretchiest plant I've ever grown, and I'm really enjoying watching her grow. I'm really looking forward to her effects also!

PHxM: third month flowering

High, everyone! Happy 420!

83 days since 11/13 and 90 since 13/11.

She's so pretty. The chlorophyll bleaching really is a shame. It'll be good to give her another run under a net at some point. I'd like to do her justice.

A lower flower that was, until recently, heavily shaded by a thick Zamaldelica canopy. Lots of light there now.

Looking great baconman :) Your patience and dedication are encouraging.

The irregular ripening is quite normal with very tropical sativas like this one, the tops could easily need 1 month more, hopefully the lowers not so much, i'm sure the yield and quality will be rewarding at the end. Thanks a lot for your updates.

What a sexy sativa Pédetoddy :)

Really Haze dominant pheno, please keep us updated, it's going to be interesting to follow her development. Best wishes.

Baconman and Pedetoddy...looking good!! That last one is very hazy.

I finally got my root bound PHxM into a nice spot for the summer. Citrus and avocado grove. Mine definitely seems to lean towards the Malawi by leaf.

The terpenes are already quite loud on this and dare I say with some animal aromas. Spicy as well. It gets more light than most of the plants in the grove and should be a beast during flowering. Deciding whether to top it again.
