Just went back and realized some are in smarty's in the ground, ha. Well I still mean what I said. Probably woulda worked just fine without them as well.

roostaphish yes they are in pots. i am not comfortable enough to put them in this shitty sand/soil i have in my area. i have seen a thread here that a guy put his in the ground and amended all the hole so i will run one next time as an experiment to see how it goes. i would prefer to do it like that as the pots dry pretty quick like 3 days with no rain and it does work a guy some

When I worked the nurseries we would put the smart pots in the ground, what they called "healing them in", well at least one way. Conserves more moisture and also keeps the root zone cooler. I've made fabric style pots out of lots of materials over the years and one material I found excellent for lining holes with is coco fiber mats. Some places sell this in roles and others by the piece. Some folks used plastic but I never liked the idea of possibly leaving it in the ground if I couldn't take it out later.

Hi flboy,

Probably not before Xmas time, be patient and enjoy of the rest of the harvest while waiting the long flowering purple haze malawis to finish. If everything goes well the harvest and quality will definitely going to be worth the wait ;)

dubi i have no problem with the wait at all my friend just wasn't sure how long. i want them to go full term so i am sure to get the full potential of them. so i should start scoping them around xmas time

well the branches have started to take some shape to them as well as the tops. they look like they will be impressive to me at 14 plus ft tall.we are finally going to get some decent weather for a change and they will be getting the sunshine they need and i have been hoping for.we are having temps in the mid 80's day time and high 60's at night. here is one of 3 i have going but they are all uniform in structure.

well the big girls are starting to show what they are going to be as far as the colas go. looks like they will have more on them than i could count and will be at least a foot long. the main branches looks like each one is a plant it self the way it is growing (impressive ) here is a few pic's of the one that is the furthest along of the three. i will have pic's of the other two when i go back out next time due to my battery's died on me.

Hi brother my god you have some nice buds growing, this lot will last for years, what will you do with all the buds? I am thinking oil, dry sift and keep the best buds for mixing with the extracts, heaven.

tang i will be making oil with some for sure. i have some thinking to do with some of it but smoke, smoke, smoke hahaha. i will let a couple friends get just enough to help pay for what i have in mind for next season. lucky that i have 3 of them that will come down about 3 weeks a part from each other so my hands will get a break from all the labor at the end. i had to make oil out of my bangi due to the caterpillars this year they got on them before i new it and messed them up big time.but i have an oz from them of oil (lovely i might add ) i am going to attempt the cobbs you do as well. i guess i will see what the yield will be and go from there. they have gotten to be 14' tall so they should yield good i think.

stay safe brother

roosta i think when the cooler weather gets here they will get some colors. i did two small ones last year and they were very purple at the end with the forest fruit aroma

Hi boy!
If mould doesn't get the better of that monster(knock wood!) you'll easily harvest two pounds...Yet, harvest looks way ahead, end November I take...

Wish you all the best!

orfeas knock on wood for sure. i think it might be christmas time before this one comes down and possibly end of January before the other 2 are ready. the forecast is lower humidity and in the 80's for high's and 60's for low's but they are saying upper 50's for a few night's coming up and no rain thank god. it will be testing these girls for how low a temp they can take as well being that late in the year as we do get some temp's in the 30's at night but not on a consistent basis. time will tell.

stay safe orfeas

madmac thanks, good genetics is a must in my opinion and we do have them for sure. as a matter of fact i just ordered more of the ace gear for next season the only problem is i have more than i will have room for so it will be interesting for sure. i still have all but a few of the malawi breeder pack (fem 20 seeds) Guatemala, malawi x pck, just ordered nepal jam (fem) and a few other offerings they have been working on that will for sure be in my line up next season. congo x panama, angola x panama and panama x malawi.i might have to make a list and see if i can get some help making my decision on what to put out.

stay safe mac

little update these girls are picking up the pace a little. treating the look of potassium deficiency. this is the one i think has more malawi than the other two. you can see that each branch is it's own tree just amazing to me. the other 2 seem like they will be 16-20 weeks of bloom. i hope they make it

peace
