Purple Haze x Malawi & Oldtimer’s Haze

Maybe you guys can figure this one out.

I’m thinking maybe the taproot broke ground a bit high, and that what I’m looking at are just root knubs too far above the ground. Either that, or the OregonismXL inoculant and flowering/rooting fertilizers are just super-effective. But.. What the hell is this at the base of my OTH?

Oldtimer’s Haze (Reg)(M)
Flower Week 6 Day 4

The Oldtimer’s Haze is easily the slowest-flowering plant in the world. I’m almost afraid that it won’t throw balls in time to successfully pollinate the PHxM. Fingers cross! 🤞

I don’t manage the pH of feedings, watering is about 6.5-6.8. I have well water. I grow organically, so pH is less important to uptake of nutrients than it is with synthetic chelates. They’re self-buffering. As long as there aren’t any wide fluctuations, the pH is usually not as important.

The curl is because I used Amino Aide in preparation for the stretch, and there was just far too much N in the nutrient. The Oldtimer’s Haze seems to have adapted well, though.

To know the ph and ec you are working with in your waterings and feedings is a must to master the growing of your plants, in any kind of of grow, organic too.

The Purple Haze x Malawi female looks like has a bit of nitrogen excess.
Anyway she is looking fine, glad to see her finally into flowering.
Oldtimer's Haze is indeed a very slow flowering strain, especially indoors from seed but you are dealing great with the extreme tropical sativa genetics in your indoor setup :) Just be patient and keep taking good care of them.

Yeah, the N tox was from Nitro bat guano. I should have left it out, it’s a little too hot for pure Sativas like these beauties. Thank you for your observations.

Nice looking plants.
How is your light cycle now?
Good luck and much patience
Vibes!

We are down to 10/14 in this closet. And, yeah, definitely taking patience. These Haze plants flower a lot slower than I realized. In the end, though, it’s worth it just to preserve these genetics for posterity. Thank you!

Flower Week 8 Day 5

The OTH has been left long enough that most if not ever branch should have been snowed over with pollen. I also collected some of the pollen for later. I culled him today after a week of letting him pollinate freely.

Just a reminder that these two beautiful Sativas are under only 270w of QuantumBoard LEDs.

You better not use those pH+/- liquids in organic growing using mycorrhiza unless you want to kill your soil.

That yellowing is definitely genetics from the Malawi Gold. She’s fed fairly well.

Purple Haze
Flower Week 11 Start

The leaves are turning gold, the buds are green and turning purple. She’s got Haze-dominant genes and she’s got the Malawi fading and vitality. Just perfect. I’m so glad that Kerala-dominant looking OTH was a male. I have high hopes for the progeny!

My next run will be:

-Bangi Haze by ACE Seeds.
-GMO x Sour Diesel by Shoreline Genetics
-Sour Diesel x Gorilla Glue #4 by Shoreline Genetics
-SR-71 Purple Kush x Sour Diesel

My PHM pheno appears to be very Haze in structure and yield, with Malawi fading, and light purpling of the buds. Does that seem about right?
