You'll see a couple nanners on this flower. The purple pheno threw a few nanners towards the end of flower but was stable for the majority of flower. I think this wouldn't have been as much of an issue in a larger container. My theory is she didn't like being in a 2 gallon pot for 15+ weeks.

Either way, this sexy gal got STUFFED into a bunch of cobs. She's sitting away in the yogurt maker getting nice and and sweaty at 40-45c. Thanks to Tangwena for sharing his cob technique with us. Go check out his thread if you haven't already.

That cobs looks A+++ future smoke or chew, nice grow, respect. A ¿? if I havent got a sealing plastic bag machine, can I just let the cobs in zip bags trying to remove all the air inside as I can and the let them at some temperature. Thank's Kaskadian

Thanks for all your advice getting these cobs going brudda! I’m hoping everything comes out well. The only bummer is my yogurt maker only has a 6 hour timer so while I’m off at work I asked my wife to reset it when it beeps. I mentioned about a dozen times to set it to the lowest setting for yogurt (40-45c) when the timer goes off. Hoping I go home tonight and find it still nice and warm! :D

Fucking grade A schedule 1 awesome

Thanks man!

Too Good Kaskadian...

Let’s hope it comes out half decent! I’m new to cobbing but thankfully Mr. Tangwena is a wealth of knowledge on the subject and so freely shares that information with us. Thanks man!

Brother I’ll be honest I’m probably the wrong guy to ask because I’m not experienced in making cobs. Tangwena would be the fella to ask. Hopefully he will see this in chime in. I’d also recommend asking in his Malawi cob curing thread — when I get home I’ll post the link (on my phone now).

It needs to be sealed quite well to prevent bad bacteria from entering and causing mold or other issues. I’m not sure if a ziplock is capable of sealing that well but maybe it can — hopefully someone chimes in.

Thanks for the kind words bro. I’ll get you some links when I get home tonight.

Hi Porn a member on 420 forum bignasty got a spectacular cure by squeezing the bag tight and then taping it up as tight as possible and then proceeding as normal.
So yes you can but there is always the chance that you may get mold.
If you want to take the risk it does work.

Great job Kaskadian! The buds are beautiful. I fully plan to do this with some of my buds this year. Tangwena has done so much research (trial and error). Then letting everybody here know what works best. He has been doing this for several years and has it perfected quite well. Plus it looks like a good time as well. Peace

I knew the cob master himself would be prepared to answer all questions.

Farmerlion brudduh thank you so much my friend. Tangwena has been an invaluable resource to this community and honestly I never even heard of cob curing before his introduction to it. I'm looking forward to fly fishing and chewing some cob out on the river.

We got some action 24 hours later... cobs are still very moist to the touch. Opened one to take a peek and then resealed it and tossed it back into the yogurt maker.

Smell is sickeningly sweet/savory it's really really bizarre. To me it smells like diced up green olives with a sweet tangy funk. Hope that's a good sign...

Dude this thread is educational and fun. Thank you, your grow is stellar. Whats next?

Thanks so much friend! I've had a BLAST doing this grow with all of you guys.

I've got a lot of stuff I'm really excited about on deck. When it comes to big sativas I've got some really interesting stuff to choose from. Right now I'm leaning towards a bunch of flavors of Malawi. I've got standard Malawi, and multiple Malawi crosses produced by both Master Dubi & a good friend. I need some of that monstrous African bud in my life.

Can't wait! :huggg:

Cheers bro! I can't wait to sample these cobs in a few months. I sent you a PM with a question if you get time man. I took out the cobs dried them with paper towels and wiped down the inside of the vac bag... still lots of moisture. I can see condensation inside of the bag after re-sealing it... I'm hoping this won't be an issue. Everything is resealed but I don't want these cobs getting moldly. They're sitting in a warm spot now sealed up.

Hope that's all normal. I'm sure someone will chime in and tell me if I'm being stupid.

If you see there's too much, excessive moisture you need to wipe it, dry them with a towel, paper towels or whatever as required, maybe let them air-dry for just a couple hours before re-vaccing them again to put them to ferment.

Vacuum should prevent mould from happening in any case, but excessive moisture (i.e. to the point of seeing droplets inside the vacuum bag beginning the fermentation phase) can interfere with the kind of fermentation we seek.

I think you'd better lower the moisture to the point the corn husk is still damp, but not dripping, specially knowing that these are sativish more delicate foxtails buds. Tangwena has the last word though!

Tip: don't reuse vacuum bags... some lose the seal if you reuse them, and you have gold in your hands!

Kas from the picture your on track it looks great just get rid of the sweated moisture its just the water leaving the buds once its out you dont need it.
You dont have to panic just open the bags dry the maize skin of excess moisture and reseal under vacuum the magic has started.
