GN collection Laos is still for sale at the boutique....havent bought seeds from there in 5 years or so....anyone know if they are still selling things? The site hasnt been updates since 2014...would love to pick these up though as I've only heard great things...cant get seeds from The Real Seed Company as they wont ship to the US..so no Thais for me from there, this would be the next best thing

I had some of Ace's Thai Stick growing back when I lost my grow to an AC failure during a heat wave during a family vacation. I'm not sure it was a good fit for my indoor grow and it takes waaaay too long to finish for this climate, but I was still sad I didn't get to finish any of it. I love tropical sativas

i was travelling at Thailand and found that weird pressed weed there. for me it was very good smooth taste and super psychedelic high. i think it was somekind of cob cured sativa. i'm not sure. that's why i'm here asking for more information. one guy speculated it's maybe from cambodia. one thai rastaman told me it's maybe freight (trainwreck?). when smoked too much it was very paranoid aswell. powerful stuff still missing it.

its not really weed from thailand ,
either laos or Myanmar,
but i agree its a nice toke
as long as its still intact how it was sold ,
exposure to the climate seems to make a poorer product for some reason ,, it could be due to the compression initially ,, dunno ..
anyhow no opium , its just you didnt try that cannabis profile yet so it hits hard , its strong ,, but not as strong as it used to be ..

I'm perplexed how the idea that Thai Sticks were soaked in opium persists. Perhaps some were, but I never experienced it. The weird part is that the high from those sticks were the complete opposite of opioids. If someone told me Thai Sticks were soaked in cocaine, speed, and coffee it would be more believable, but I'd still doubt it. It would not need it. I have successfully grown a special Neville's Haze plant that had the Thai Stick high and was as good and as strong as Thai Sticks from the old days. I also grew and smoked some buds from Thai seeds one time successfully. I tried growing Thai genetics dozens of times unsuccessfully. It is incredibly fickle. I even failed to duplicate the high in other attempts to grow a cutting from the Neville's Haze plant that was like just Thai Stick. For me, those Thai strains have been by far the most difficult to grow successfully. I've been very frustrated in my attempts to duplicate that high, but it has happened for me a couple times in 50 years of trying. LOL. Perhaps the difference in the high from Thai Sticks and people's attempts to grow good Thai weed helps perpetuate the idea of adulteration. But opium, really?!
I have smoked opium, eaten opium, and smoked opiated hash. The only good experience was the opiated hash. I believe it was actually heroin in the hash. You could see white specs, and was a much more refined high. I smoked pure Colombian bud that was superior to the opiated hash. Good Colombian had the floaty dreaminess of narcotics, but was also more cerebral. My point is that I know what the high is like from these various ways of imbibing opioids and opioid cannabis concoctions, and Thai Sticks were not even vaguely similar. I would suggest that the highs would be polar opposites.

In the 70's we had tons of Thai stick. I move a bunch and like you said none soaked in opium. But I do have a story: 1976 =or - a year. Honolulu Hawaii. I was waiting for a friend who was stationed at Kaneohe Marine corps base. air wing. We were going to see the Dubie Brothers concert. He never showed. Two weeks later he showed up. He was sent to a secret base and did secrete bombing missions in most likely Laos. He brought back these black sticks that had white speckles on them. Looked like China white to me. That is my one and only time I smoked that and I started in 69.
