hi!
have 3 bagseeds plants from ko phayam/thailand.
all 3 are so different after 3 month flowering 10/14.
nr.1 grow very slowly and have 1 and 3 fingers.
nr.2 grow ok but have only 1 finger leavs.
nr.3 grow the best have only 3 finger leavs.
what do you think about the plants?
they are real sativas?or mixed with indicas?
somebody told me that the weed in thailand today comes from laos and cambodia.

I imagine they only have one leaf because they don't really know whether to flower or reveg. What are your daylight hours right now? Usually anything from 12.5 to 14+hours of light will do this to a sativa in my experience.

I love landrace sativa's but the flowering time is so so long that I never get them finished. I live where I get a county agent that visits me once a month. She actually said she smelled cannabis the last time I saw her. I just tell her it's probably my neighbors (I should have said "just don't go in to my bathroom!).

But they take so long that I'm tempted to find a site outdoors somewhere.

Hi an all sativalovers!
I have 2 plants from Ko Phayam/Thailand bagseeds. The cannabis is coming from Laos.
Growing from mid february, flowering from april till now on 10/14.
Growbox 60x60x160 cm,china LED.LST the are ca. 50 cm in the hight.
The pictures 2+3 are showing the one with only 1 finger plant, have many "bananas"hermiting strong but i pull them all every day.have ca. 50 seeds till now.You think i can have at the finish good cannabis to vaporising?
Pictures 4+5 showing the second plant. This one have 3 finger leafs but on the top now only 1 fingers.Have never "bananas",no hermating but have till now also ca.50 seeds. How can this happen? No hermating,no "bananas"and have seeds? This seeds are big, gray color,no strips.
What do you think?Which landrace they are?How long they need to finish?
Till now they flowering 3.5 months.

Hi Laredo

n) Southeast Asia - Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam (10 to 20 north latitude)

Since American troops first returned from the war in Vietnam, the Cambodian, Laotian, Thai, and Vietnamese strains have been regarded as some of the very finest in the world. Currently most Southeast Asian Cannabis is produced in northern and eastern Thailand. Until recent times, Cannabis farming has been a cottage industry of the northern mountain areas and each family grew a small garden. The pride of a farmer in his crop was reflected in the high quality and seedless nature of each carefully wrapped Thai stick. Due largely to the craving of Americans for exotic marijuana, Cannabis cultivation has become a big business in Thailand and many farmers are growing large fields of lower quality Cannabis in the eastern lowlands. It is suspected that other Cannabis strains, brought to Thailand to replenish local strains and begin large plantations, may have hybridized with original Thai strains and altered the resultant genetics. Also, wild stands of Cannabis may now be cut and dried for export.

Strains from Thailand are characterized by tall meandering growth of the main stalk and limbs and fairly extensive branching. The leaves are often very large with 9 to 11 long, slender, coarsely serrated leaflets arranged in a drooping hand like array. The Thai refer to them as "alligator tails" and the name is certainly appropriate.

Most Thai strains are very late-maturing and subject to hermaphrodism. It is not understood whether strains from Thailand turn hermaphrodite as a reaction to the extremes of northern temperate weather or if they have a genetically controlled tendency towards hermaphrodism. To the dismay of many cultivators and researchers, Thai strains mature late, flower slowly, and ripen unevenly. Retarded floral development and apparent disregard for changes in photoperiod and weather may have given rise to the story that Cannabis plants in Thailand live and bear flowers for years. Despite these shortcomings, Thai strains are very psychoactive and many hybrid crosses have been made with rapidly maturing strains, such as Mexican and Hindu Kush, in a successful attempt to create early-maturing hybrids of high psychoactivity and characteristic Thai sweet, citrus taste. The calyxes of Thai strains are very large, as are the seeds and other anatomical features, leading to the misconception that strains may be polyploid. No natural polyploidy has been discovered in any strains of Cannabis though no one has ever taken the time to look thoroughly. The seeds are very large, ovoid, slightly flattened, and light brown or tan in color. The perianth is never mottled or striped except at the base. Greenhouses prove to be the best way to mature stubborn Thai strains in temperate climes.

If you are sure that those seeds aren't produced by random ditchweed or modern hybrids pollen, so they are still pure Laotian, in my humble opinion, even being hermaphrodites, they are more desirable to grow than all the new fancy hybrids.

Also if you can grow more plants and choose one or more males to make seeds, it would be much better than hermie pollen.

Best regards.

I want to say if there are ruderalis where you are currently growing. Not in Ko Phayam, Thailand or Laos. I haven't explained myself well. I am sorry.

Any consensus on what is the best Thai. I have some northern Thai, Khmer Gold x Chiang Mai seeds. I guess there is no best Thai, just what you find is better or worse?

Not sure what to make of Gypsy's Thai or his Laotian strain.

Ive grown out Gypsys Thai, and I was pretty happy with it. Intersex genes are present, but for the most part minimal. Lots of pics in my album if you're curious.

The real seed company have the highland thai back up and sounds nice. The purple pheno that smells like mango has got my attention. Cheers Kit

Plants have quite big and resinous calyxes, with slightly denser bud formation than is usual for a Southeast Asian strain. There are two main phenotypes, namely green and purple. Green types often have musky lemon citrus aroma, and purple-blue phenotypes typically have more mango-carrot scents.

In short, Dubi and Ace Seeds could launch a limited version with all their thai, hmong, ko chang, meao thai, chiang mai. To preserve. It would be lovely a cross with the 4 Ace thai or 3, hmong, ko chang and chiang mai.
Triple thai or four thai.
