How goes it King long time no talk. I am not speaking for DHF but from what I know his ole ass is all but done with weed forums! He doesn’t like debates about what he KNOWS.

I swear if I hadn’t run across your thread and listened to him I probably would have been done growing after a couple grows💯

I seriously stole him (sorry) and we PM’d for well over a year and I attribute 90% of what I know to him these days! He eventually FINALLY agreed to talk on the phone a long time ago and now the ole fart is seriously my grow counselor. We speak regularly. He is truly a pioneer of what we try to accomplish and a BADASS!

I will shoot him a text and let him know to reach out to you for sure!

I would be no where close to this if it wasn’t for him💯

10 days left to go with these bitches!

Peace bud and if there is anything I can help you with please let me know! The ole heads are far and few between these days!

Hey @LJ farming !

Yeah man!

He has been a treasure trove of great info! Talking to him cleared so many of my doubts! Please pass along my regards! He has helped me avoid many a problems! I feel sad I didn't pick his brain for more info! I would definitely love to talk more about this!

Your plants look beautiful!

I will tell him tomorrow and I all but guarantee he will jump on tomorrow to say what’s up.

There is zero chance of him put up with any brobullshit!

This is calling the ole head DHF out now and he gonna mad! Here is a couple of the first things he taught me!

Some of This is 100% COCO DTW ONLY

1. It takes Runs under your belt
2. It takes intestinal Fortitude
3. Air circulation is FLUCKING INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT when running environmental conditions properly
4. Running insanely high ec/ppm probably will never work and unnecessary!
4a. Lower the N unless you’re trying to grow a bigger plant! Flower needs a lot less!
5. In COCO when in doubt flush it out! Otherwise coco never gets flushed! Dwindle the ex/ppm the last week!
6. fan leaves and any leaf with a stem are trash after stretch! This is not up for debate and I could give 2 shits about solar panels! This is 100% my experience and taught to me by DHF! Him and I both agree that it might cause 5% and but definitely less than 10% of the yield per plant! Perhaps in a headie closet fallowing the plant count rules this matters. If you are trying to grow dope at scale on a 60-63 day FLIP. It’s gotta be a well oiled machine! Trimming, keeping rH correct, and watch the magic happen is way more important when running more than one light in a tent!

Everything above is BABY SHIT EASY. If I thought I could I would try to share EVERYTHING but that’s on DHF until I get 100+ more runs under my belt!

Peace DEAD HEAD FRED!

Absolutely! That is what I really enjoy :ROFLMAO:

I agree with all of your points especially about the circulation and the leaf stripping. I remember his advice on to do it after the stretch and not the 21 day rule!

DHF “Rule is stretch lasts 40%ish of the flower/FLIP cycle” So on a 9 week strain you leave the ladies alone until day 23ish or 25 max! Strip the ladies about 25% per day and back off a lil on the light intensity!

Day 30 there should only be random fans with stems that need to be stripped! Then they get a lil more P and K ! At this point they need less N every week!

It doesn’t matter how much I strip DHF always says strip the bitches more! The only leaves allowed in the bloom room after day 30 are sugar leaves or small fans growing out of a bud!

I will not debate this and for the most part LAUGH at solar panel growers that don’t defoliate heavily! Solar panel growers have every right to run their way as do we defoliation artists!

Peace

Hey guys..........been a minute.....Hope things are goin your way King........You can plainly see LJ`s killin it...........and he`s soooo modest huh ?.....LOL.....now.....lung rooms.....a lung room is nothing more than an area equal to or larger than the grow area where perfect environment in created , pumped in , and sucked back out of said grow area at the speed of twice per minute as taught to me by the infamous Heath Robinson way back more yrs ago than I care to remember............that said....

My lung room`s had a big ass wallbanger a/c unit mounted if and when needed where outside heat and drainage went through a false wall to keep it out of the lung room , and with simple foundation vents to allow fresh air from the unfinished basement in at the floor level as well as 1 at ceiling height to allow stagnant air out to ensure constant recirculation so as to always be able to keep fresh air moving in.............

There were dehuey`s mounted if necessary but mostly never kicked on with air extraction twice per minute using active intake fans @ floor level and exhaust scrubber combo`s at ceiling height , and.....that`s about it King.....the 1 thing needed to extract air twice per minute is the intake and exhaust fans MUST be at least TWICE the CFM`s of said grow area along with allowing the back pressure caused by the scrubber attached to the exhaust fan......IOW......

Oversize the fans and plug em into either rheostats or router controllers to dial in the speeds needed for the twice per minute extraction and set it and forget it.....anyways.....hope that helps and holler anytime ....I`m around , just don`t post much anymore to avoid the know-it-all kiddies and wannabe`s so.....Take care and.....

Peace......DHF.........

Good to see you back @DunHav`nFun the grandpa growers are the best.

I remember Krusty from the original overgrow, he used to post up ridiculous sized indoor trees grown with bare bulb vertical HPS with him stood next to them for size comparison. Absolute legend.

Peace

@DunHav`nFun

Thank you for simplifying it for us kids once again :ROFLMAO:

The two times per minute is a great thumb rule to follow, so is the oversizing of the fans!

So within a room, if I make an enclosure using insulation boards, can I consider the room as a lung room?

What types of fans are best suited for extraction and which ones would you recommend for air movement?
I am not asking for a specific brand as such, but a "type" of fan if you could recommend?

As long as the said enclosure has access to fresh air with passive intakes to turn over stagnant used air from the grow area , I suppose it`ll work.......also......

The types of fan is an "inline ".....I used Vortex 450 and 800 cfm models that worked flawlessly for my full many yrs tenure at croppin.....I`m sure you`ll be lookin for different models where you are across da pond....anyways.....Holler if I can help , so good luck and.....

I am sorry. I was not clear in my wording. The below pic is what I have in mind.
So the passive intakes should be for the flowering area or the entire room as such?

The Flowering area's are lit by 1000W led bars and there is a 480W QB in the veg area. My logic for keeping the veg tent in the "lung area" is so that the heat from the veg lights help with the dehumidification once the lights go off in flowering areas.

Your passive intakes to allow fresh air in should be in said lung area , and you should use "active" intakes in each flower room as well as active exhaust /scrubber combo`s so as to recirculate and extract fresh as well as stale air constantly "twice per minute" out into the lungroom to be re-mixed and recirculated back into the grow areas ad infinitum......now.....

With LED`s your room temps need to stay higher in the 80+ degree area since the plants respond differently to LED`s than they do with HPS where normal room temps were taught to stay in the low to mid 70`s throughout the life of the grow......that said , you`re still only in the 30 watts per sq ft range in 36 sq ft rooms as to where I ran 1800 watts/ 50 watts per sq ft in the exact same sq ftg with my vertical rack rooms back in the day.......also.....

It makes sense to say since you`ve got 2 exact size bloom rooms that your intention is to stagger plantings a month or so apart strain dependent to harvest perpetually every 4-5 weeks instead of waiting the full 8-9 week cycle for product to market , and if that`s so then your lights ON air being extracted will help with the dehuey needs of the lights OFF cycle in the other "flip room" BUT.......

Since the a/c unit ALSO assists in the dehumidification process , depending on how much "biomass" /plant matter in each bloom room will depend on how much RH gets formed each lights off cycle during late flower when airborn nasties can proliferate , so a dehuey is always a handy alternative if necessary when they`re in end of cycle and spewin all manners of water vapor during lights out as they finish swelling and then chopped...........anyways.....didn`t mean to write a book , but there ARE variables in what you`re askin about so holler back if there`s anything you`re not sure about so......Good luck and .....

Peace......DHF......

I 100% agree with DHF’s 50 watt per square foot rule if you are running old school HIDs or T5 flos.

However IMO you should go considerably higher than 30 watts per square foot. My 720 true watts LEDS make 45 watts per square foot! The best thing about the new LEDs is that they are adjustable and again IMO they only should run about 5-6 weeks max at 100%. It takes around 8-10 days to ramp them up 3-5% per day to full power in stretch and then I dim about 2-3% per day for the last 12-15 days.

Once you get the environment dialed in you will be amazed at how much more light, CO2, and nutrients they will ask for! It’s all about balance King. IMO environment first then you should be amazed at how you can make the ladies perform with a lil more this or a lil more that or a lil less that!
