Strait pro-mix HP for all stages...you'll never go back. I've done comparison side by sides with other formulations and blends. Best preformance with greatest ease of use.

I ve used bx for a number of years.....I dont add extra perlite.....

Never tried hp.....

and generally I dont water bx enough for much runoff......

Since hp is high porosity...... do you water enough to get significant run off????

Anybody actually know what they use for a wetting agent? Please don't guess...I am just curious

I dont think they are fond of releasing this info....

However with their organic product they say they use a different organic wetting agent.....as apposed to their other products....

still not specific what it is....

I found that the BX held onto too much water and I had much less consistent dry down...as compared to the HP. I get 10% runoff at most. Give the HP a try...you won't be sorry.

Nice Budley...I think you will be pleased

Yucca is a very common wetting agent amongst commercial growing medias. I would put my money on that.

This pro mix Is my all time favourite, it is Organic omri listed. Most plants from clone will eat up the food in it within 3 weeks so u can save a tiny bit on nutes.

Im not organic....I use jacks and calcium nitrate.....

I would like to see if some runoff is beneficial....

I suppose for the same reason when I run jacks in hydro....I change my res and get rid of nutes that havent been used.....

I have a question about re-using pro mix for indoors. For nutrients I've mainly been using fox farm trio every once in a while and just using straight promix stuff looks good for the most part. What should be done as far as re-using or rebuilding.

So.... I bought 4 by 3.8 bales of promix hp.....

Being the label junkie I am....

I compare bx with hp......

BX has about 10% more peat..... and includes vermiculite.....

HP..... there is no vermiculite..... so they replace some peat and all vermiculite with perlite.......

Wish I could find HP.

Vermiculite is soggy and heavy after being watered anyway. Rather not have it in my mix at all.

I use vermiculite exclusively for my cloning.......there is little doubt vermiculite loves to hold water.....

My local hydro store has both bx and hp for the same everyday low price.....25 bucks.... plus tax...
