I will use the wet towels and will mod the fan (is a cpu case fan, not compatible with an AC dimmer) to be thermocontrolled, a fairly easy mod with just a mosfet, NTC resistor and a potentiometer to set the low temp point (See Thermocontrolled FAN mod )

Wettex is sponge cloth. Will try a smaller towel.
BTW I noticed I was not watering the coco correctly, previously I watered it just until I saw runoff; but it dried in just a day. The next time I watered it with a fixed water amount, slightly more than the solo cup volume, and noticed that although there was runoff, the coco kept abosorbing water.
I feel stupid, but lesson learnt, when watering is better to feed by volume than by "eye".
