i went ahead and did a harvset session of 2 SSH x PTK plants its the ones that are most mature on the pics
this pheno is rigth now actually a bit past maximum potency, and has gone over to a more sedative and heavy high. its not my favorite, personally i think this one is more funny a week or so earlier when the high is more electric and inspiring.
anyway waiting a week or so more to harvest will make it into a sleeping pill.. hehe so rigth now i think it was a good moment.
i admit i never had indoor nugs to harvest at this time of the year before since i allways had to take a break during the hot months with clones etc but this year i have realized the temps in my new house are much more suitable earlier
it means from mid september i allready have about 28 degrees or so in the grow room, and now its about 26.
this and a huge amount of low ec water, has made my plants feel better than ever it seems. im very glad for all the rain we are getting but i actually finally ran out of storage space. i got saved up about 600 liters of rain water - that will be enough for a month atleast if we dont get more rains for a while.
anyway happy plants means im happier got a bunch of tasty looking nugs to put to dry

the new crosses of ours are most of them looking way more interesting that we even dared to hope for ever. pollen chucking is worthwile and fun.

soon i will cut the tip and put to reveg the SSH/PTK x SSH/LP keeper. im going to collect pollen of the selected male i got here, and im going to polinate ASAP after reveg. there is a few more seeds left to look for more material in.. should plant them soon.
meaothai x ptk
also i finally decided wich parents of the meaothai x PTK to use for F2. the male has not much female atributes at all, and might be a really good choise of dad. the 2 other males have been discarded because of too long flowering time. the selected male has a litle bit of sturdy branching, and average production under low light.
i8 got all in all 3 females of the meaothai/ptk selected, of them 2 are very similar and pretty much they got their looks 100% from the mom. meaning LONG internodes and branches, a sturdy hollow stem, few budsites and slow build up.
the THIRD one is completelly different. here we dont recognize neither of the parents, and this is what i wanted, this one has a LOT of branching - doubles easilly the other two (even almost counting both of the other), its also shorter, stronger stem, handles very well snapping of the stem, and finally its starting to flower quite explosivelly.
soon enough i hope to see resin productiong to get an idea about this, but beeing partially a thai it might take time to fatten up.
on the last pheno it does seem a hybrid, with more compact budsites, and much more budsites also compared to the other 2.
so this will be the NUMBER one shot for F2. i will also polinate the more sativa like ones, but not as much as the more interesting one. the reason im polinating also the 2 ones that i now find too lanky, is if any of them is an exceptional smoke, it would have been a misstake to let my aims be too hard of a guidlines. isntead i leave open possibilities. later if any of the plants is NOT good smoke, the seeds of it will get set aside for other projects, BUT NOT for further selection of the hybrid i was looking for.
JAGGEN x SSH/PTK/PTK
here there is 3 fems, and also all three are a bit different from each other, the main similtude though, is in the heigth of the plants and the branching, but this far it seems there is more difference in the build up of the nugs. lets see later, this one should take some time to get a build up. but allready all 3 have resinous petioles.
one pheno has very long hairs and to start with is looking quite good, other two phenos have shorter hairs. of the later two one is standing out as more resinous at this stage.
the downside of this cross is i got NO males of them this round. we got more seeds and we are going to look for more material. if i got a nice female i will reveg and keep her.
Amnesia haze x ssh/ptk/ptk
5 of these in the grow room. 2 big ones and and 3 smaler.. the short ones seem more interesting at the moment...
no males either of this.

got one female and two male. one male is very early into floewring and is most likelly not going to be ready in time for this polination. the female is resinous, but more longer nug formation than in the earlier cheese trainwrecks (same thing) i grew out. here i think i might just do a polination later, if i see the female is fattening up more. i moved her to a spot under the light to see what happens...
its very likelly i will continue this line.. i remember the original cheeseTW as a very tasty smoke. if there is anything similar in there somewhere, i want to find it.
Mula x chitral
mula is (La Mula (Uzbekistan/C99Haze x chitral fem)) - Uzbekistan x C99Haze#4
this last one is a bit of a story.. i got gifted some nice wellgrown nugs to have a test smoke.. and i found some nice seeds that i stasthed.. the nugs in the tester were ROCKHARD and very resinous.

just checked on my outdoor plants.
the clones are looking really promising, and havent yet gotten into flowering. im a bit worried about the fact they grow quick and the surrounding plants are dying quick hehe. i just now bent 2 of the clones down further. should last for a week or so i hope.
the big plant of SSH/PTK x SSH/lp that had sexual confusion, i did pcik of all male floewrs before taking it out, and honestly it doesnt seem like if more have come at all. also this plant is growing far more than expected. but also this one should not stretch that much more since its well into flowering. im not going to bend it at all, if it doesnt get necesary. im sure its almost best left as is, no body gonna look into that pile of bad herbs, unless im there doing things all day...
anyway i feel confident for future runs with plants taken out earlier. i only have to dig down a few tubes for watering them - so that i only have to fill water into controll buckets if possible. i want to minimize the time spent around the plants..
i will take an other look in a few days to see how they are, and if i need to keep tying or bending them down more.
i use iron U's out of bent rebar to hold the plants down.
soon i hope to be able to take a few pics of the progress.

after a visit in the growroom i could see there was a few calyx that were way too fat for this early on some plants, and after a inspection of all plants i found one with a few banana clusters. it got pulled and killed hehe
anyway still 2 left of the THAI/PTK, but im going to let them flower out properly before doing any polination.
glad i saw it early, but sucks i didnt get it in time before it dropped a few clusters. one bucnh of nanners had falled straigth on the keeper SSH/PTK x SSH/LP, so it got CUT also for revegging. i dont want to risk anything.
the SSH/PTK x SSH/LP is actually quite mature and a week or two more would maybe have made a reveg worse.
im stoked about test smoking it soon to see the potency, flavour etc

well, after smelling and looking at the SSH/PTK x SSH/LP, and after a second good look at the SSH/LP fem, i have decided to make
SSH/LP x (SSH/PTKxSSH/LP)
hopefully there will be part of the outcome with the size of the bracts of the mom, and some of the calyx side of the females in the family of the dad.
should be noted its the same SSH used in all crosses to start with.
next step later if we find a good male of this - is to take the outcome and cross it back to the SSH/PTK (keeper female) of the father side.

darn i have bad self control!!
the smell from trimming the SSH/PTK x SSH/LP was so enticing i had to quick dry a few lower nugs in the microwave oven just to get an idea and
yeah
its kick ass
flavour etc
the taste is sour and spicy, and leaves a sweet and thick flavour in the mouth after a hit. my head is really warm and my ears buzzing. the body feels like its floating. head starts rushing and spinning... im getting an urge to go to lay down somewhere cozy... starting to yawn..

i think this one is stronger than the mom. and the mom kick me around quite well before... more intense high. and flavour i think is top of the line. the sour part must be from the SSH/LP that had lemony flavour and very heady high, rest of the flavour is similar to moms

im glad to have so good material to work with, tomhill did a great job with the PTK's, and then my goold old friend cloneman made the original crosses that im now working with using very select material. its really like a lot of the work is done.

i prepared for polination today
the problem in the current cross is the size of plant and pot, its not possible to take it out without emptying half growroom, and that takes time.
i will instead use spray bottle with water and hang up plastics to make sure the other plants dont get polinated.
tomorow i gotto start sorting out the cloning department... i hope i get time
im itching to cut clones, i want LOTS of cuts to SSH/PTK to flower during winter, and i want to put in a new one floewring before i harvest the one i got in there now. also we need to have cuts ready to polinate right away with the best looking males we get in the seeds that are getting planted now.
the beeniemans choise are all transplanted and ready for flowering since a long time back, but i seriously dont think its going to be time for them untill a month or so.

i have decied to let a few crosses wait a bit mroe to plant, and concentrate a litlle while on a new project i got in mind,.
i will plant today ssh/lp and SSH/PTK x SSH/LP.
they will be big enough in time for a funny round this winter, because i want to cros both of those crosses to the SSH/PTK keeper. also hopefully todays polination of the SSH/LP female will give results to some seeds to check out later also, it was SSH/PTKxSSH/LP male i used... the male is still in there and i plan to do a second polination in a few days to be sure i get out some beans.
so for more it will be all about these above mentioned for a while
inbetween all of this i am planning a open polination of the "beeniemans choise"... today i had a look at the ones in veg and after rubbing the stem of all of themi realized they all smell the same. i want to check them out more when i can
also today the COOP friend came over for a test smoke of the SSH/PTK x SSH/LP, and we got both properly stoned. both of us got to a moment where we decided to lay off the bong for a bit because we were getting almost too dizzy. that is very un-usual! full on head and body stone. my friend who is a medical consumer, noticed directly improvements in the problem area.
a special little girl for sure! cant wait to make more beans of this to keep exploring it
