dude, once those tiny tests turn into trees...
back to trimming (snore);;;kinda sucks having to spend a beautiful, sunny weekend day inside trimming...
~c
hehe a few days trimming and a couple of months smoking sounds good to me!
this night im going to take out one more plant to transplant into a hole outside this one is a ssh/PTK x SSH/LP and sadly this one pheno has some hermie troubles...
it would suck to have it indoors but i aint gonna throw away this big girl (ehm..shemale) because as long as its producing resin i can make a NICE jelly hash out of her just gonna let her go as is
the problem is my garden is not too shielded to outside views, BUT the good part is its quuite dark indeed in the spots i choosen, but this "last" (for now!) spot, i have to walk in plain view of who ever might pass by.. so after a few minutes of waiting to see if there was any movement about, i set off
this plant is quite big, it reaches me to the waist almost.. and i was trying to think of a way to take it out as low as possible, so i took it out of its pot, and laid it down on its side in a big basket hehe and i took the walk very quickly indeed
next little trip after a few minutes was with a big basket of coco and a small showel to cover the hole up.. the hole was actually bigger than i thought.. i bet i just got carried away digging but i threw down the rootball and i threw coco on top.. later i went back with a piece of plastic covered wire net, to cover the root area, to make sure none of my cats willdig up the roots looking for what ever! last thing, about 20 liters of water, and thats it..
now in only got to hope for the bad herbs to keep on for a while more they are now giving good cover, beeing about chest high in places but if there is a long draugth they might die, so part of my mission is to keep them alive also i have noticed they are about to flower, so i REALLY hope they will continue for a while more
i cut a few mature nugs on a SSH/PTK today its gonne be nice smoke... soon its going to be time to cut a few nice big ones some of them looked like serious runts earlier but when things got going they also perked up. its a shame i havent been able to flower as well during summer in the earlier location.. i would have saved a lot of bucks the summer heat is worst for my VEG department because i can only give them TAP water.. but since i use low ec water in flowering, and i do flush a lot, almost all plants made it well this summer and thats in temps FAR over what most people would think is worth even growing in! i mean temps of 35 degrees etc is not unusual in the shade down here during the peak months! any growroom will be a few degrees over that... and close to the light the heat is much higher even..
next plants up for harvest are a few BIG SSH/PTK's, one BIG snowdawg, one small SSD and last but not least, my first flowering seedling of SSH/PTK x SSH/LP.. gotto cut the last one early to reveg it well. i can allready see its got very good qualities, and revegging it doesnt cost much effort.
lets see how the rest of them develope! got only 6-8 seeds or so for further selection..
hehehe i was checking today if i can see the plant i took out yesterdat or not and i think its pretty well hidden. cant even see it from 1 meter away, and propably not anyone else either..
im starting to like this and im getting tempted to take out more plants i should clean out the veg area of the heat damaged runts from this summer and just take them all out well i might just do that bit by bit this will alove for more new genetics
the search continues for heat resistant mother plants
in a few days my coop partner will plant a whole lot of seeds from the collection..
this far we are thinking of all these;
alibi f4 - naut
berry - Xyz
scbb/ptk x ptk - cloneman
purple pakistani
special mix x dc - raco / tomhill
ptk x dc - raco / tomhill
x 18 - raco / tomhill
dc x uzb - from the spanish boy
dc x dc - raco / tomhill
chitral - spanish
sssh x ptk - cloneman
ssh/ptk x ptk f2 - ours
jaggen x ssh/ptk x ptk - our cross
as you can see its a very very indica dominant list with a few hybrids and such in there
we are particularly intereted in seeing how the ssh/ptk x ptk f2's are going also the jaggen x ssh/ptk x ptk mightbe interesting. i got allready a few of it flowering and this far they are looking quite uniform.
in flowering now at my place:
one of the most uniform crosses this far from the last bunch we did, is the AMNESIA HAZE X ssh/ptk x ptk, wich i gotto say all 4-5 females this far look like clons of each other. further into flowering i expect the differenses to stand out more.
also i think the one mula i had flowering is a female
should ad about the meao-thai x ptk, this far it looks like the onset of flowering has speed up a little bit, but also it seems the buildup is getting going faster than in the mother. in general its a very TALL, vigorous cross, and the only thing reminding of the father is the typical BIG FAT leafes.
its obvious anyway the flowering time of the hybrid is going to be pretty long hope its gonna be worth it. if not anything atleast its an unusual cross
one thing more about the amnesia haze x (ssh/ptk x ptk) - the stretch of the mother has almost been eliminated completelly. now its left to see if flowering time has been cut, and if the bud production and resin production have gone up. potency and flavour might be iteresting dont know at all what to expect
the SSH/ptk x ssh/LP looks like its time very soon to put it to reveg. just need to get some coco first..
at the moment none of the other seedlings are even close to get going flowering, and its going to take some time more to be able to see what they are made off..
i cant wait to harvest the SSH/PTK, SSD and SND, then the rest of the seedlings will have more space to spred out and enjoy the light
hehe :d with the rains we have had the last weeks, i have collected rainwater for several weeks forward
the rainwater, and the distilled water from the dehumidifiers is the main source of water for the nute mix. i dont mix in more than around 10 liters of tapwater to about 90 liters of distilled and rain water.. the plants are loving it hehe i wish it could rain more hehe but hardly likelly here in south spain but im confident that when i have built my rainwater collection system i will have access to rainwat4er for most of the year this is great
lol an other rain shower and i got an other 50 liters of water
i think i will harvest something today if i get time, the SSD is more than ready, but it wont hurt to let it go a few more days... also im quite too buzy atm.
every now and then i get bummed over the fact the coop summer grow went to hell it just shows how important it is to take growing very seriously during summer... i had no losses of plants during the hot months, but a great percentage of the plants that went to my coop partner died.. it was all plants vegged for several months... huge bummer...
its the first time it happens ever. no other coop i have done this far has had this bad outcome. but it takes experience and dedication to grown in coco during the summer. everything must be controlled and its the true test of peoples multitasking capacity
after a loong time looking at the mature plans, i decided to let them go for a little while more.. i still got smoke so i can wait and take them down a bit alter in the harvest window..
suddenly i realized i got only 1 (one!!) female of ssh/ptk 7 ssh/lp, and there is only a few seeds left.
i dont know if my coop partner got any of them either, and if he does , if there female or male.
i got allready several males set aside for using, and it might be a gangbang session this time. i might use 3-4 different males to polinate the female. the main problem is that its propably too late to polinate it now hehe and anyway the plan was to reveg this if its keepr material. the males pollen i will store for when its moment to do the polination later.
on the other hand i think i will do a polination of of the Meaothai / ptk to gain time. i doubt i will keep any of these as keeper females in their current state. they are FAR TOO VIGOROUS for my conditions, and i want to use the shortest males of that cross to polinate the female(s).
today i realized i got one more male of Karmatrain.. this strain didnt give me any females at all.. i might use one or two of the males to polinate something....
also one funny thing.. i been for a while looking at this strange fluffy thing colonizing the coco of one the male meaothai/ptk pots. today it has turned into a yellow almost fluerecent shroom i never seen before.. looks poisonous if u ask me
