Dawn soap?????? lol are you serious capt james? please explain....

truth - yea, even after just 2 red cups (16oz.) of water it already starts to drain excessively and i know they need the water because after i water their leaves perk right back up.

Yeah, sounds like you need a wetting agent. Dawn's a good one to use.

tOO BaD PEOPLE CANT JUST GIVE THEIR BEST ADVICE AND BE DONE WITH IT WITHOUT ALL THE BACK AND FORTH BULLSHIT.sORRY i TOLD YOU TRANSPLANTING WAS YOU BEST BET,IT NORMALLY IS BUT i MISSED THE FACT YOU WERE ALREADY IN A 5 GAL BAG.oopS caps sorry.I've just been a little confused as to the porosity of your medium,at first I thought the water just ran straight through quickly, watering very slowly will help that situation but if the medium were pretty normal you wouldnt have to water so slowly to get saturation.Slowly is best though in reality whether the medium has too much perlite too little vermiculite.or whatever. You cant go wrong with slow and thorough. When people started talking about using a wetting agent I got confused because thats really want you want to use on hydrophobic soil,or soil that wont absrb water it just runs off.If the water is just running through with little or no retention, how will a wetting agent help?I'm assuming the water is only hydrophobic on top, sort of "packed" but if it pours through that then through the rest of the medium quickly,it would seem something like vermiculite or another water retention product should be used.I may be way off.Would a wetting agent help to distribute the water evenly through the middle and bottom of the pot?If so it makes a little more sense, but I've never heard of a wetting agent being used with a medium that doesnt retain water,I've only heard of it being used when the soil is hydrophobic

Capt Kirk, are you smoking dust? We're not the same person. :)

Wetting agents break up the surface tension naturally inherent in water. This would allow the water to be absorbed more readily. They're almost totally unnecessary on peat moss, though, as long as you water nice and slowly.

he used his other alias to ask newb questions, and the other to pretend like he was a master grower... he said under one he never touched seed (clone only), and the other he is obviously 'growing' ordered sensi seeds. (i too got neg rep from both ids) he used both to troll threads, and when no one agreed with him, he used that name to have someone on his side. I'm pretty sure there might have been more than just the two (some threads I was being attacked in for no reason, all of a sudden they aren't posting anymore). the guy says in one thread he grew for 20 years, then another (under the same name) he grew for 12 years (I'm pretty sure this was his first grow). he's been using both these names for over 3 months now. good riddence because this guy was not a good guy. justice has been served...and btw, this isn't the only rule he has broken (he's posted peoples PM's in open forum). he got joy out of stalking people on here, and attacking them needlessly (and backing himself up with himself under another nickname).
funny how he accused me and glock being the same person, yet we are not...then it turns out he is using 2 different alias's. this guy puts stuff on people as if they are doing them, when in reality, he is...just trying to make people look bad for the things he does. may he rest in pieces. from all of us, thank you for getting rid of this guy.

I'm sure not gloating even though he totally trolled me for awhile, its a shame really people.Damn it the benefits people can acquire from a place like this is endless, and its a shame when people come here just to impress or for any other reason other than to learn or teach.I knew my life before OG,it wasnt bad really at all, good job nice house etc.My life after OG however was more like some kind of real-life fantasy/dream and I'm surely not playing it up or anything.Man you can do this right,be a real good person about it,and if you're like me every day will be just like another adventure.Man I sure do miss pulling wire and bending conduit while someone with half my talent tells me to move a little faster, darn I miss those good ole days lolEDIT And yea,the only negative rep I ever got was from the dynamic duo lol

lol...good riddance IMO. I was just trying to help and he had to be a dick. If you need to prop yourself on another name, you need a life IMO. I'm here to talk about and learn about pot, while helping other people with their growing and positive cannabis use. Cheers OP!

When I grow outdoors here is how I get around the problem.

9_Pattern_Adjustable_Universal_Joint_Watering_Wand.jpg

Use a "watering wand".

Turn the little nozzle on the wand down so the water comes out really slow.

It makes it much easier to water without compacting the soil and having too much runoff etc.

If you use a one gallon jug or something like that and just dump a gallon of water on your soil in like 30-60 seconds you are fucking the plants big time.

It will compact the soil, cause too much runoff, and basically just stress and shock the roots because they are getting bombarded with water hitting them very hard.

A wand will water in little tiny streams through the holes, and it is much more gentle on the soil and the roots.

When it comes to soil, just copy the masters, nurseries have been using watering wands for decades with great results.
